Osteria del Centenate In Varese

The dishes were so generous, we couldn't finish them all. The waitress came over and asked, "Do you want to take something away?" After we agreed, "It's two euros for the lunchboxes." 😂 It's a bit of a lapse in style, honestly (we're talking about the containers that cost about 10 cents each, the disposable ones, tiny). I've never heard anything like it. 😂 Aside from that, we ate well, and the service was excellent, fast, and attentive. The music in the restaurant was quite out of place for a relaxing dinner (Max Pezzali, Laura Pausini, etc.). Personally, it was a bit annoying. We tried the tasting menu. If it weren't for the embarrassment of having to pay €2 for lunchboxes, I would have given it more stars, but I found it to be in terrible taste.

Good food and good value. Unfortunately, we were scammed by the staff who charged us for an extra dish. Be careful when ordering dishes.

An absolutely incredible experience at this generous, family-run trattoria. The cuisine is refined and incredibly flavorful, offering a culinary journey through Lombardy. Set menus with a wide variety of dishes and friendly service complete the experience. A true delight!

I ate the best polenta ever, in a cozy atmosphere and with good service.

Dinner with friends, everyone was very happy... the owner is a delightful lady, the waiting staff very kind and helpful, the dishes delicious and the atmosphere very welcoming and warm, honest prices in Varese these days, authentic restaurants are rare gems, I recommend it!

It was a fabulous experience from the first time! The dishes are simply exquisite, very generous. I had the privilege of trying almost everything, from the game meats to the polenta, to the pasta dishes with venison and roe deer ragù. The braised beef with polenta is by far the best I've ever had! The place is warm and welcoming, the staff professional and very friendly. I was struck by the honesty, friendliness, and expertise of the owner. At the table next to mine, she advised some guests to eliminate some orders because they wouldn't be able to eat everything; they had ordered from appetizer to dessert. The portions are indeed generous; if you're on a diet, let me know in advance if you want a half portion! ;) The chef, well... a friendly person and always on the ball, the fresh, carefully selected meats are cooked carefully, the kitchen is immaculately clean, as you can see for yourself thanks to the huge window that allows a view inside. I confess, out of curiosity, I asked to know how the preparation, cooking, etc., are done. :) Highly recommended place, book on weekends otherwise you risk not finding a seat!

We had lunch there on Christmas Day. Excellent food and a great location.

It doesn't have a fixed price menu, but I went there and will definitely return at lunchtime because the price is excellent even if you order a large first or second course.

A truly top restaurant in Varese. If you want to try quality, traditional products, you absolutely must come here. A feast for the palate. Congratulations!

New Year's Eve dinner... Top... It's the third year we've had New Year's Eve dinner, always top notch... excellent food... excellent service... super fun... beautiful and fun music and entertainment... the best place to end and start a new year... Thank you Osteria del Centenate.. 👏
