30/09/2025: Enchanting place, super welcoming and kind owners! Prices in line with the location, altitude, and management! The complaints in the negative comments should be more objective and take all factors into account! Highly recommended! The pizzoccheri are dreamy!
PS: The only lodge open on September 28th in Val Zebrù!
26/09/2025: We passed by on July 23rd: we had booked a refuge, but along the trail a family recommended we stop here for the quality of the food. I can 100% confirm that the food is excellent: the tiramisu, in particular, is among the best I've ever tasted, if not the best. Highly recommended! A place to return to not only for the food, but also for the scenery and the warm welcome from the owners.

02/01/2026: We came here with high expectations given the reviews, but what can I say? It was a truly negative experience for us.
The appetizer was acceptable (I've had better), the pizzoccheri was far too thick and poorly bound together, and the tagliatelle with mushrooms couldn't be classified; they were tough, short, and very thick—in short, they were anything but tagliatelle. The venison stew tasted good, but the meat was a bit tough.
They call it home cooking, and all I can say is, "You guys ate really badly at your house."
I can't rate the dessert because, after the owner's sarcasm, she was offended by my comment that the tagliatelle weren't exactly to our liking (we left the plate whole), we decided to leave.
P.S. It's a shame because the location is very beautiful.

The service was fantastic, and the food was excellent.

17/09/2025: We've been back a couple of times already, not to stay, but for dinner: exquisite home-made products. We also tried Taroz (a traditional Valtellina dish, now hard to find). The owners are lovely and friendly. Highly recommended.

Wonderful location between Gavia and Santa Caterina. Stunning views. Everyone is friendly and smiling.
Trust their recommendations, the specials of the day... but save room for the mixed cheese platter (superb cheeses) and, of course, the desserts made with their milk.
The mountain hut is also a halfway point/stop on hiking trails.
You can't miss it.
I'll definitely return and recommend it.

13/08/2025: This was our first time at this family-run hotel in the city center, with spacious and spotless rooms, exceptional service, and excellent and plentiful cuisine. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but we especially appreciate the owners' friendliness and helpfulness.
Recommended for those seeking a relaxing stay, a family vacation immersed in nature, and also for those who love hiking, as it's a great starting point for many walks.

Abbiamo avuto il piacere di trascorrere una serata indimenticabile al Sunny Valley di Santa Caterina, un luogo che incanta già dal primo istante. L’atmosfera è semplicemente magica, immersa nella natura, e la cura dei dettagli rende tutto ancora più speciale.
Il servizio è stato impeccabile, con uno staff non solo professionale, ma anche incredibilmente attento, cordiale e premuroso. Un’accoglienza che ti fa sentire davvero coccolato e che trasforma una cena in un’esperienza da ricordare.
Un enorme grazie allo chef Davide Frigerio, che con la sua passione e il suo talento ha saputo regalarci un viaggio nei sapori davvero unico. Oltre a essere un grande professionista, è anche una persona genuina e simpatica, capace di trasmettere il suo amore per la cucina in ogni piatto.
Un ringraziamento speciale a Beppe, che come sempre sa offrire un’accoglienza e un’esperienza all’altezza delle aspettative.
Non vediamo l’ora di tornare!
11/01/2025: Panorama mozzafiato per questo rifugio speciale, il più bello mai visto sia come contorno sia al suo interno. Cibo buono e servizio rapido, un po' costoso ma ricordiamo che siamo in un rifugio di alta montagna. Raccomandatissimo
