18/03/2025: Miserable starter for such a high price, pizza was ok

24/02/2025: Don't be fooled by the external appearance. Come in and you won't regret it! It is located a 5 minute walk from the San Giovanni di Como station, it is 5 minutes from the heart of the city. A very nice, welcoming environment. The staff is super friendly and attentive to detail. The service was fast and perfect. A very vast menu of fish, meat and pizza that will leave you spoiled for choice. We took a pizza 🍕, it was very good, thin and crunchy, well stuffed. We also had a scallop with porcini mushrooms. It was very tasty, cooked to perfection. The prices?! These also surprised us. With drinks, a beer, a glass of wine and a bottle of water, we paid just under €50.

22/03/2025: The pizza was oily and the buffalo mozzarella was overcooked making the pizza very rubbery (usually to avoid this you put it after the pizza is cooked in the oven). The paccheri sauce was terrible and there was only a tiny splash of burrata. I would never have expected such a nassa quality of Italian food in Italy honestly. They took so long to prepare the pizza, take the orders, give us the bill and bring us the drinks.

08/03/2025: Really great food, service and venue. Well done, we came for lunch and ate really well. We will definitely be back for dinner soon. The raw material is excellent! I've to update the review. Went for a second round during a lunch break on Friday. Super! Tourists! Take your time to see the lake but when you seek for a very good restaurant worth your money go to this place. You won't be disappointed.

16/11/2024: Perfect food! The best Risotto I've ever tried! All the plates I tried were good, and I went back there more than once because the place is perfect! Very gentle service and a pubish atmosphere. The prices are cheap. It is a must-go place.

12/11/2024: Nostalgia 30 years have passed but the "Refreshment" is still there. Always as it was. As soon as we crossed the threshold we became "teenagers" again, same place, same friends, same music as we like, same smile from the owner.....a blast from the past. We spent a wonderful evening savoring everything that the owner kindly proposed accompanied by beers from different brands and finally an unforgettable rum. All with laughter and good company like many years ago. We will be back and if you can go and visit this small but unique reality you will be pleasantly surprised. We spent the right amount and an evening like this is priceless. Thank you very much ❤️ for the beautiful evening and see you soon.

24/02/2025: Very eclectic restaurant, the service was extremely attractive, the food was very good, everything we had was delicious. The restaurant very eclectic- boho - antic kind of vibes. Very cool. I recommend trying the Risotto al Merlot !!!

23/03/2025: Remarkable experience and attentive and fast service. We took two classic pizzas (max 14 euros), since the special ones in my opinion are too expensive despite the quality ingredients (21 - 30 euros). The dough is presented with high edges and soft until the end even though it is no longer at serving temperature. Rustic tomato sauce, not salty, tasty mozzarella. In my case, the speck was very good and cut very thin to make it easier to cut the slices. The house dessert was good, even if made without yolk (there should be pasteurized yolks to avoid contamination). The person who serves the tables was very nice and friendly, a plus for the good English, as he had mistaken us for tourists.

23/03/2025: The place is quite large, clean and with a 50s-60s style, full of photos and posters of films or actors/actresses of the time. The staff is kind, helpful and fast in the service. We ate a very good and quite digestible pizza. The dessert was a bit small but still very good. Average costs are fair. I recommend the visit.

06/03/2025: If you are passing through Como, remember to book a table at Osteria del Gallo a few days in advance because it is a very popular place. The pasta is delicious and the meats too. The atmosphere is typically that of an old-fashioned Italian osteria. I loved it!

16/02/2025: Locale che forse dovrebbe decidere se essere una rustica osteria o un ristorante. In ogni caso ambiente gradevole. Menù semplice ma adeguato a località e ambiente. Rapporto qualità prezzo adeguato. Strada x arrivarci un po complessa. Se siete in zona si può andare a mangiare tranquillamente.

Trovato per caso ma ritorneremo senza dubbio per cucina cura del cliente e gentilezza.siamo arrivato dopo le 22 e nonostante l'ora ci hanno fatto accomodare ed abbiamo gustato antipasti misti ottimi ,tortelli di magro con sugo di noci gustosissimi ma soprattutto una trippa sublime. Camerieri superprofessionali . Da raccomandare

16/02/2025: Very comfortable, in the historic center of Como, Duomo area. A beautiful discovery. Everything is prepared fresh, increasing the availability of hot dishes continuously. You can also choose the ingredient of the day to be grilled, and this is done live. Great choice of vegetables and salad. A more than honest price, given the quantity and quality ratio, and you don't have to pay a cover charge. The only complaint was that the table where we sat had not been cleaned. However, I don't know if support tidying up by the staff is included in the service (in addition to their contribution in freeing up the table space), or if it is done from time to time by passing by and seeing the need. At that moment there were a lot of people and maybe he missed it. However we will definitely return.
