28/12/2025: A Michelin star...it must not be the same standards as in France, given that the restaurant is on the side of the road, with a parking lot opposite in a vacant lot (with wrecked cars, trucks waiting for work, huge potholes, and lots of dirt and mud). We went there last week, Christmas week. The welcome was adequate, the staff young and friendly, however, several drawbacks: - no tablecloths on the tables, surely a new concept, surprising for a Michelin-starred restaurant... - glasses were cleared by hand from above, I'd never seen that before... - we asked for wine by the glass (no wine suggestions on the menu, nor prices) and they imposed a local wine on us without offering any other choice...rare for a Michelin-starred restaurant. Finally, the €60 lunch menu, excluding drinks, is more of a tasting menu than a full meal. The chicken fillet weighed maybe 80 to 90 grams, came with three aromatic flower petals and a decent sauce, but not enough! It's a shame; we left hungry. It felt more like a bistro than a Michelin-starred restaurant. Too bad, we certainly won't be going back.

18/01/2026: A cozy, slightly hidden little gem of a restaurant with absolutely delicious food. We tried two different pasta dishes, both full of flavor and clearly made with care. For dessert we shared one dish, which was the perfect ending to the meal 🥰 The staff was very nice and accommodating - we were welcomed from the moment we walked in the door, and felt taken care of until we left the restaurant. Very good prices!! This is definitely a place that is highly recommended, and we will definitely be back ☺️

30/12/2025: I ordered spaghetti with clams and it wasn't good at all; the only flavor I could taste was garlic, and even when I asked the owner to change it, he didn't seem to want to listen, even after he saw that I left my plate full.

06/01/2026: A truly fantastic experience at Ü Funtanin! The staff was wonderful, and the food was incredible. Special mention goes to the risotto alle zucche with the tuna tartare—amazing! There are few vegetarian options, but the staff is happy to adapt dishes accordingly. A huge thank you!

06/01/2026: Excellent pastry shop, great atmosphere. The coffee and cappuccino are very good and the pastries are delicious. Nice terrace but too many smokers, which is a shame.

26/12/2025: Great gluten free cakes. Separate casing to avoid cross contamination. My favorite was the nut cake. Tiramisu in a cup available. Cakes have to be left out in room temperature for 1 hour to thaw before enjoying.

24/09/2025: Excellent quality, the creaminess of their pastries is sublime! The coffee is good, and the lady is incredibly kind! She gave me her cell phone number if I wanted to go for breakfast tomorrow morning (I'm a tourist), and she'll save me whatever they want if I arrive late. They have everything you'd expect from an excellent pastry shop. I'll definitely be back. Laura

12/09/2025: Well, it's a wine shop! You'll find a nice selection of good wines! Then, if you want, they have a good 20 seats where you can find really good, well-made wines. It was a great surprise. Try it.

21/08/2025: A real gem, Mirko and Sara always offer a smile and top-notch service! I recommend trying the tagliolini al consiero, superb. This place is perfect for aperitifs, lunch, or dinner. A guarantee!

06/01/2026: Excellent service; we arrived at 2:35 PM and you welcomed us without any problems. Excellent fried food, and a plate of linguine with clams. The pasta was a little al dente, but overall, I recommend it. About €45.

23/12/2025: You're hungry! Don't go! Monday lunch special, December 22, 2025: Two tiny portions of lasagna with no meat to speak of, plus one bottle of sparkling water (no coffee) = €32. Judging by the taste, we wondered if it was homemade. If you want to enjoy the view, why not, but the service was mediocre. We were disappointed.

27/12/2025: Amazing pizzas! 😍 The ingredients are excellent, and a huge plus for the pizza dough, which is fabulous. The staff are super friendly.

23/12/2025: The staff, manager, and cashier were extremely unpleasant and welcoming. The pizza was okay, but you can find just as good, or even better, food nearby, for example, La Grotta restaurant, which is a 2-minute walk away and cheaper.

01/10/2025: Judging by the over-whelming review responses so far being combative rather than accepting, I did wonder if it were worth writing this. After all, isn’t one positive aspect of an honest review being that those responsible for the establishment can improve? I visited with my husband - one night stay. First things first, acknowledgment where it is due, the owners/people at this establishment are lovely and are intent on giving good service. All are very friendly and courteous -but other than this element, I’m afraid I’m at a loss as to why many other reviews are so at odds with our own recent experience. The views, of course, are absolutely stunning ….. but when that’s been said, nothing else is anywhere close to acceptable, let alone impressive. It’s obvious that the picture-book location is expected to deflect any and all expectations of comfort. There really is precious little. Please don’t expect that the photos were taken this side of the millennium, and at that fast-receding point in time, the decoration and facilities were more than likely passable - but having clearly had zero investment in the fabric since, it has become tired and massively past its sell-by date and in dire need of maintenance on a grand scale. It has to be said, however, that as some buildings fall into decrepitude, they become oddly iconic. Perhaps this is a case in point….. but be warned, don’t expect anything less than an authentic Adam’s Family mansion experience complete with incredible, breath-taking views.

21/09/2025: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel La Riserva di Castel d'Appio. The place is full of charm, the view is magnificent, and the setting is very relaxing. The staff is charming and efficient, whether at reception, at breakfast, or in the restaurant. The rooms are comfortable and the food is of high quality. We will gladly return!
