11/11/2025: I visited this trattoria during the chestnut festival held in San Martino al Cimino in October. We hadn't booked, and we were lucky because, despite the restaurant being full, there were still two-person tables available. A dark-haired lady who greeted us at the entrance was very kind and helpful in seating us. The cuisine is very rustic and trattoria-style, just what we were looking for. The menu is quite comprehensive, with many dishes featuring porcini mushrooms and typical local products. We ordered the tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and the tagliata with potatoes and porcini mushrooms: both were very good. The restaurant is located just outside the historic walls of the town, and reservations are highly recommended.

01/11/2025: Trattoria-Pizzeria La Torre di Lavello, located in the heart of Tuscania and named after the Romans' name for the Etruscans ("Tusci"), offers a welcoming atmosphere steeped in historical ambiance. The dinner featured carefully prepared dishes full of character: a rustic house appetizer with mixed cold cuts and grilled vegetables; beef tartare with Tropea onions, capers, sun-dried tomatoes, chopped pistachios, and a fresh and harmonious homemade mayonnaise; Gragnano spaghetti with cacio e pepe served over creamed beetroot soup, an original and successful combination. All accompanied by a good red wine. Fast service, friendly staff, and a pleasant atmosphere. Recommended.

23/11/2025: I decided to try this trattoria, inspired by its name, for a quick lunch. It was very clean. The decor was tasteful and simple, yet elegant overall. I was immediately struck by Luisella's warm welcome, which made me feel like a longtime customer. I asked if there was a special of the day off the menu, and the response was fresh Ferlenghi mushrooms, recently delivered. I love mushrooms, so I went for the first course with the fresh Ferlenghi mushrooms... I added "porchettate" potatoes and chicory. While waiting, I took another look at the menu and I have to say I would have struggled to choose because the options were all so inviting. The first course was FANTASTIC, perfect! Meanwhile, I also got to meet Pino, who runs the kitchen. Like Luisella, he was welcoming and friendly. The side dishes were fine, the wine was perfect, everything was perfect! Pino and Luisella, congratulations and thank you. I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

20/11/2025: I'm sorry, I had high expectations for this place. First of all, I noticed a disparity in treatment between regulars and walk-in customers, like us. Later, I asked for rare meat and was told it would be cold. I persuaded myself to order medium, and they brought me overcooked meat, which was also different from what I had asked for. But mistakes can happen... but it can't happen, by chance, that my bread basket is exchanged with bread still inside and I'm then charged two euros... for the bread. There's a lack of honesty and clarity here... and I find it unpleasant. Not because of the price, but because of the gesture. I didn't need more bread, so I was given it anyway... and then charged.

17/05/2025: Palazzo Ranucci was a pleasant discovery, a magical place with a breathtaking view and, without a doubt, from the terrace you can enjoy the most beautiful panorama of all Tuscia! The cuisine is excellent, the welcome by Elisa was truly an added value. Before leaving, we had the pleasure of meeting the manager of the location, Mr. Maurizio, an exquisite person with very elegant manners, who also made us experience the true soul of this historic building. Recommended to all those who are looking for a unique, original and, at the same time, traditional experience linked to the authentic values ​​of life.

01/10/2025: We were refused to eat here when we went inside the restaurant. The lady even scolded my friend on what she was wearing (off shoulder top), very unnecessary. Very bad experience. We just went out of the restaurant, even so, she continued to tell us that it was wrong to enter the restaurant. Hays.

23/08/2025: It's always a shame for me to leave a negative review, especially when the location is truly delightful: small but meticulously maintained and with a pleasant atmosphere. For this very reason, I believe constructive criticism can help both the owners, helping them grow and improve, and future customers, helping them have a more satisfying experience. During our dinner, however, several inconveniences arose that I must point out. As soon as we sat down, we found the placemat dirty, likely not replaced after the previous service. A detail that alone wouldn't have ruined the evening, but unfortunately it was the first in a series of oversights. We ordered a first course to share and two second courses. Unfortunately, the tagliatelle with lamb ragù was so salty that it was difficult to enjoy. The wild boar meatballs, however, arrived cold and partly burned. Finally, the sliced ​​beef: we weren't asked how it was cooked, and, without a proper knife for serving, we were faced with overcooked, very salty, and difficult to cut meat. A real shame, especially since the prices were decidedly high compared to the actual quality of what we were served. I sincerely hope these observations are helpful: the location has potential, but the cuisine and service deserve more attention to live up to expectations.

28/09/2025: Beautiful location, average service, but they should change the chef; it was a truly awful experience. When I ordered cacio e pepe pasta, the pasta actually arrived in broth with a strange, thick white sauce that prevented me from ordering other dishes.

16/10/2025: We're a group of Spaniards in Tuscania. We've been to several different places, and they've all been really nice except for this one. First of all, due to the language barrier, they brought us a pizza board that we NEVER ordered (she tried to give us the leftovers). She told us she only had that, and when we told her we wanted something else, she said goodbye. Once we paid for the drink, we were about to leave, and the owner said she'd made us a whole pizza (it had a tomato-based crust, nothing else, and again, WE NEVER ORDERED THAT), and she ended by saying that we should be Spanish and go back to our own country. The rest of the waiters were very nice. The owner was unpleasant and xenophobic. EDIT: I'm editing the review so I can respond to the owner. We arrived at 8:50 p.m., when the place, on Google, says it's open until 11:00 p.m. on Sunday. If you want to close early, it's not your customers' problem, as they arrived more than two hours early. If not, change the hours you listed on Google. Secondly, we NEVER got around to ordering ANYTHING. You brought us the leftovers you had, and when we paid for our drinks because you kicked us out for not wanting the leftovers, you said as we were leaving that you were making another pizza we DIDN'T ORDER. A pizza that was on the counter and was just dough and tomato, nothing else. At least you're not denying that you're a xenophobe who told us to go back to our country; that does you credit. I repeat: If you're coming from outside, don't visit this place. There are many others where you'll be treated with love and respect, and where you'll eat incredibly well.
