12/06/2025: Ottimo pranzo, ci siamo stati per un pranzo aziendale. Cibo ottimo e località perfetta per chi ama la montagna. Ci tornerei assolutamente anche per conto mio. A solo un’ora da Modena praticamente, lo consiglio molto!

02/09/2025: A very rustic place, but the fact that it's surrounded by nature makes it unique and fantastic. We had a polenta appetizer with bacon and melted cheese, truly excellent, and a first course each (tortellini with butter and sage, tagliatelle with meat sauce, and tagliatelle with mushrooms). We also had water and coffee. The price was very fair, and the waiter was truly helpful and polite. We had a bad weather day, so there were very few people, which allowed us to get excellent service. I would gladly return, especially to fully experience the landscape.

17/08/2025: The place is nice. Unqualified staff. Unspeakable food. Tray-packaged cured meats, shoddy and poorly preserved. Cold first courses, especially the tagliatelle. Potatoes as hard as rocks. Liquid sorbet, and the joke was that the waitress said it was lemon cream when she had actually sold it to us as sorbet. For the total of €28 per person, I'd say it was a rip-off for the quality. And we also drove 100km... very disappointed!!!!! We'll never go back!!!!

23/11/2025: Fried gnocchi: Spectacular! Pappardelle with ragù were splendid, cappellacci with porcini mushrooms were incredible, a parmesan cream tartlet was mouth-watering, polenta with porcini mushrooms brought back memories of camping in the mountains, and a fabulous beef tagliata! What can I say.... a well-deserved 5-star rating!

06/11/2025: A decidedly negative experience. We went, attracted by the set menu advertised the previous few days. Upon arrival, however, I discovered that the menu offered was for the previous evening and that there was a confusing distinction between the pizzeria restaurant and the hotel restaurant. We decided to stay anyway and order à la carte, choosing typical mountain dishes based on mushrooms. Unfortunately, the dining experience was disappointing: the tortelloni had an acidic filling, the tagliatelle arrived without mushroom sauce, and only after reporting the problem were they returned to the table with barely any sauce. The second course, pork cheek with mushroom head, was small in portions and underwhelming: three slices of meat, one mushroom head limp and tasteless, dry (€18). The service was poorly organized, with staff inattentive and not always available to handle requests. Considering the medium-high cost and the renowned mushroom tradition of these mountains, I would have expected much more in terms of quality, attention to detail, and customer transparency. I wouldn't recommend this experience to anyone looking for authentic mountain home cooking or simply professionalism and transparency.

04/09/2025: beautiful hotel, fabulous rooms, incredible management and super kind owner, the people are very calm and never make noise, dream hotel, super kind waiters and they give a lot of food at a low price, go there, not like the hotel Florence

04/02/2026: Excellent food in a lovely setting. Finally, I paid and left without asking too many questions. Coincidentally, the next morning, I was speaking highly of the place and the dinner. I noticed that desserts had been included in the bill (which we never ordered or consumed). It must have been an oversight by the cashier. But the doubt remains. More attention should be paid to these matters. Without being argumentative, but objective, I've written what happened.

06/03/2026: I've been here twice during my stay in Fanano. The staff has always been extremely helpful, kind, and friendly, so no complaints there. The location is beautiful, and perhaps because it's low season, I didn't encounter any problems. The food was excellent; both the tortellini in broth and the truffle tortellini were truly amazing, though the polenta with wild boar was a bit less so, which, to be honest, was quite bland. As for desserts, nothing particularly good; the sweet salami wasn't anything special and was so hard it was almost impossible to eat with cutlery. Otherwise, I appreciated the courtesy of the waitress while you waited, and the amaro at the end of the meal, which was clearly artisanal and well-made. In my opinion, this is a place that, with just a few tweaks, could become perfect! I'll be back.
