14/08/2026: A dish arrived with burnt ingredients. Servers openly mocked the customers, speaking amongst themselves in their own language (hello, we understand what you're saying). I do not recommend this place!

14/08/2026: Small but pleasant place, friendly staff. We had fried pizza, meatballs, and eggplant parmigiana, and what can I say, everything was delicious! Well done.

23/07/2026: I’m a chef. I love to eat out. I’m almost 50 and have been cooking for 30+ years and eating out at high end venues for 15 years. I love this restaurant. It’s a DC gem. Most of the DC food scene is mediocre at best. This is a breath of fresh air. When I need a nice place to that won’t be packed and will provide exceptional food and service this is my go to.

20/05/2026: We wanted to indulge in a late-night treat with two stuffed doughnuts. Delivery took a long time, the filling was generous, but the dough was very thin and had a nasty aftertaste of stale oil.

10/05/2026: A two-hour wait for an order of two sweets is unacceptable to me, but I wanted to upgrade my rating to two stars (previously one) because the owner was kind enough to acknowledge the mistake and personally deliver our order without charging us anything, a gesture I can only appreciate. As for the quality of the order itself (in our case, realistic fruit), there's nothing to write home about. The taste wasn't bad, but it wasn't worth €8 a piece and such a long wait.

22/07/2026: A very welcoming restaurant, both in terms of its facilities and its staff. The owner is very welcoming and helpful, and the waiters are friendly, fast, and helpful. The food is excellent. The meat appetizer features special cheeses (the orange peel cheese is very special). Scialatielli allo scoglio (seafood) filled with seafood, homemade pasta, perfectly cooked, all very tasty. The sea bream cooked in crazy water was delicious. After paying, the waiter offered us a drink and coffee. Not everyone does. We'll be back.

19/08/2026: Unfortunately, my experience at Gusto 79 was very disappointing. The wait times were biblical, and the staff seemed decidedly disorganized and inattentive to customers. Waiting so long for dinner ruins the evening.

18/08/2026: Dinner with friends, we arrived in the rainy evening, and none of the staff, including the manager at the cash register, knew what to say. It's impossible they only work with the outdoor dining area, even in winter. We finally sat inside, but found the staff inattentive and, above all, uninformed about the menu items, as well as long waits. We tried the mixed fried food, which was overpriced for what was offered (zeppole, a croquette, chips, battered vegetables, and chips). The frittatine were also homemade, good but overpriced for what they offered. The pizzas took quite a while to arrive. The dough was good, but there wasn't much topping, and the crust was thick, like a Casertana pizza. In addition to pizza, they also make sandwiches and saltimbocca. We'll definitely be back to try the saltimbocca. The wait is a bit long, especially for the pizza, so be patient.

25/08/2026: Service with a scowl. Never been served by someone so abrupt and aggressive. Didn’t write the order down or repeat it then tried to serve wrong dish until we explained she misheard marinara to be carbonara… and the food was decidedly average and not served piping hot. And yes it’s cramped.

24/08/2026: Got a nail in my Limoncello spriz. The waitress was rude to everyone and it took forever to order and pay. This place ruined our experience of Amalfi.

29/07/2026: I just ordered two sandwiches, they arrived on time. But when I opened the sandwich, I made an incredible discovery. I had ordered porchetta, potatoes, provola, and mayonnaise, and it arrived with a burger without mayonnaise and with ketchup. The other ordered a kebab and salad, and it arrived with a burger and salad... I'll never order again.

09/08/2026: My family and I had dinner at this restaurant/pizzeria. We had an appointment at 9:00 PM. We arrived and immediately ran into a mixup. We'd asked to sit in the air-conditioned dining room in case it was too hot, but contrary to what we'd been told, they'd already decided we'd be sitting outside, regardless of the outside temperature, so much so that our table was already ready there. I should point out that this was communicated to us with arrogance and a lack of kindness. To avoid ruining our evening, we let this slide and sat down. We ordered right away. Unfortunately, we had to wait half an hour just for drinks, and the drinks were served hot. After waiting half an hour and a further reminder at 10:00 PM, we were told that the pizzas would be another good half hour. While we were waiting for our pizzas, and the drinks were getting even hotter, we asked if they could kindly bring us some ice, and guess what...not only did the ice never arrive, but when we asked for it, we were told they didn't have any. So what? Is that how you do it? You don't even tell the customer at the table who's been waiting for an hour that the ice wouldn't arrive. Rather than tell them and know they'd make a fool of themselves, they preferred to pretend nothing had happened...well...needless to say, the service was terrible, because when the pizzas started arriving at 10:30 PM, only two arrived at a time, and so not only didn't we all eat together, but there were 12 of us, and the last two pizzas arrived at 11:00 PM. It seems truly absurd to me that in a restaurant, especially one with so many seats, there could be such slow and poor service. Furthermore, as we were leaving, there were other people complaining about the wait. I definitely won't be returning, and I'm sorry, but I absolutely wouldn't recommend it. Of all the other places in the area, this one is also out of the way and far from the center, and with all the competition, such a service is unacceptable.

08/08/2026: I'm sorry, I think the management has changed. I was there last year on August 15th and everything went well. This evening everything was bad, from the welcome to the service. We arrived at 9pm with reservations for adults and children. At 10pm they told us that the pizzas would arrive in half an hour. The first 4 arrived at 11am and then the following ones with another 10 minute wait. I'm sorry, but it's not for you. The customer is the one who brings the money and must be respected.

16/08/2026: Kudos to the owner and the attentive staff. The food is delicious and the prices are really good. Highly recommended.

09/08/2026: I was there for lunch today: Beautiful location, exquisite and well-cooked dishes, you could perceive the quality of the raw materials and the skill of the chefs, the staff, everything, very friendly... Maybe a little expensive but quality pays off... I also tasted the pizzas and I must say they are truly excellent.

23/05/2026: Really bad service. Was offered a table with 2 bad seats even though the place was almost empty. We asked to if we could sit at a proper table. But they said no. Don't go to unpolite resturants.
