Sincere compliments for the quality of the dishes, the care, the professionalism that you reserve for customers. Impeccable table service carried out by Mimmo, who is absent these days (but is still here!), by Paola and by Francesco. Five stars to all the staff... great professionals who put their heart into it! Previous review Il Frago is one more reason to choose to spend your holidays in Pizzo Calabro. I happened upon it by chance, together with my husband, walking along the beautiful seafront a few years ago and, since then, every holiday of ours in Calabria includes a return to Pizzo and to this place where we feel at home! Excellent food (both restaurant and pizzeria) for the quality of the raw materials, wisdom in the preparation of the dishes, generosity in the quantity. Great professionalism by Luigi who runs this restaurant pizzeria together with his brother Enzo, an unsurpassed pizza chef. Excellent table service, taken care of by capable staff, in particular by Mimmo and Pasquale. It is evident that, in addition to professionalism, there is a lot of heart in what the managers and staff do. Honest prices. I recommend it without reservations.

30/05/2025: We stopped by chance, it was the only agriturismo along the road. Even though they were closed, they welcomed us with rare kindness and even prepared a hot dish, free of charge, just for us. A gesture that tells all the authenticity and heart of Calabrian hospitality. A simple but precious experience, which left us with a beautiful memory. Absolutely recommended!

21/06/2025: I strongly advise you to go shopping and eat in your homes because I noticed that in this place you eat like dogs, or rather like possums. Despite the "mess" (3 tables) the waitress was very helpful, friendly and slightly confused.

23/06/2025: A young German lady approached us outside the Osteria Del Pescatore. After we had briefly chatted and I told her about our previous experiences with the restaurants in Tropea, she recommended the Osteria Del Pescatore to us. We were skeptical at first, but that changed within the first five minutes. The waiters spoke Italian, English, and Spanish, were extremely courteous, and accommodated our every need. The timing of the antipasti and our main course was perfectly coordinated, so that everything flowed seamlessly without the annoying waits that are so common. The waiters all communicated with each other, and when they saw that a dish was coming to an end, they immediately called out that the next course could be served, without any feeling of being intrusive. The spaghetti con le vongole was exceptionally delicious; there was no salt in the vongole, as is often the case. My bistecca di vitello was perfectly prepared and seasoned, with a wonderful pink center to the meat. A great recommendation from the lady!

21/06/2025: My favorite place for dinner in Tropea. Delicious food at absolutely fair prices. Many fish dishes, a very good wine selection. This osteria is truly a little gem, tucked away in a quiet side street in the old town. Anyone looking to spend a relaxing evening with good food in Tropea should definitely stop by here.

12/01/2025: La loro voglia di guadagnare e fare tavoli a tutti i costi è più forte della soddisfazione dei clienti. 5 minuti di ritardo per via della lunga strada percorsa e ti tolgono via il tavolo senza nemmeno avvertirti. Pessima esperienza

11/07/2025: We arrived at the place around 8:00 PM and were seated practically wherever we wanted, as there was practically no one else there, only three tables besides us. They had us order right away, and we all opted for pizza. After about an hour of waiting, I pointed out that there was no one there when we arrived and the wait wasn't justified. The waiter told me the pizzas were in the oven. It took another 20 minutes for the pizzas. So, an hour and 20 minutes of waiting. I should point out that takeout customers were constantly arriving, waiting a few minutes and sometimes leaving with dozens of pizzas. I'll never go to a place like that again.!!!

25/05/2025: Phenomenal pizza al taglio. The "taglio" is by weight but the prices are absolutely fair. The fragrance of genuine bread is noticeable, as is the quality of the ingredients. A must for a quick, cheap and quality snack. Recommended
