13/10/2025: Good sushi, but some significant weaknesses in the rest We visited the restaurant with our children and wanted to try a variety of dishes. The sushi was really good – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. A huge compliment to that! The service was also very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the rest of the offerings were disappointing: The Phad Thai unfortunately bore no resemblance to the original, and more than half of the alternative sushi dishes weren't available at all. That was a shame, especially when you're there with children and looking for something different. The drink selection was also very limited – there were only Coke and water as non-alcoholic options. A wider selection (e.g., juices, iced tea, or spritzers) would have been really welcome. Conclusion: If you want to eat good sushi, this is the place for you. Everything else needs to be urgently reworked – or the restaurant should focus entirely on what it does best: sushi.

22/11/2025: The table service outside could be a bit better; we had to wait quite a while for our menus to be handed out and our order to be taken. Nonetheless, the sushi here is the tastiest in the city. The quality and combinations are refined and elegant; the eel was exceptional. It's definitely high-end sushi, which is reflected in the prices, but you know, quality comes at a price, and you need a treat every now and then!

26/08/2025: We've been frequenting Sakura restaurant in Modica for a good 5 years, and we've become regulars... once or twice a week, and it's never disappointed. It's a family-run business, and you can immediately feel the welcoming atmosphere: they make you feel at home every time. The sushi is always fresh and carefully prepared, in our opinion the best in the Ragusa province. At lunchtime, the selection is a bit more limited, but at dinner, the menu is much richer and more varied. A must-visit for those seeking quality, friendliness, and authenticity. Highly recommended!

04/01/2026: The service was awful, the wait was incredibly long, and almost no waiter spoke Italian. Management must have changed, because it's never been this bad in any way... I wouldn't be surprised if it closed soon.

03/01/2026: We arrived around 8:40 PM. After a long time, they only brought us fries and fried chicken. Then they got one dish wrong and served us shrimp uramaki, even though I have an allergy. After trying them, I seriously risked anaphylactic shock: a very serious situation that demonstrates a complete lack of attention to allergies. In the meantime, we had ordered about 20 dishes, but almost nothing ever arrived. We called at least three waiters, who unfortunately didn't speak Italian, making it impossible to communicate properly. We were reassured several times, but to no avail. At 10:15 PM, tired and disappointed, seeing that only the wrong dishes continued to arrive, we decided to leave. I left €25 on the table to cover water, Coke, the service charge, and the few dishes that actually arrived (ravioli, fries, fried chicken, and salmon uramaki). When we left, everyone noticed us, and a waiter chased us outside, demanding we go back inside to speak to the owners. When I refused, one guy even suggested taking the license plate, a truly unpleasant episode. A nightmare evening, total disorganization, and, worst of all, no safety measures for those with allergies. I will never return and I strongly advise against the place.

15/02/2026: I've been a customer for several years, and Agua Loca remains one of my favorites: the quality of the food, the location, and the service are truly fantastic. However, I was very disappointed with my last takeout order, where the portions of sashimi and tartare were significantly smaller than my previous orders... and considering the prices, it doesn't really offer the right quality-price ratio.

17/01/2026: Prices have increased, quality has improved slightly, but selection is limited compared to before. The canteen-style layout is definitely better, so the locals avoid handling the food, which will be picked up by those who serve themselves after them. Update 2024: The restaurant has truly lost much of its original charm. I will never return; it's very dirty and the food is poor quality. *Update 2026* The cleanliness of the premises has improved, but the attention to the plates displayed for diners to use has been somewhat less so. A general overhaul is definitely needed, especially regarding the bathroom doors. The quality of the food and preparation has improved. I didn't like the sushi, which I found too large for the quantity of each piece, and I didn't like the grilled shrimp because they arrived with the casing still inside. The other dishes were good overall, especially the desserts. One star increase.

23/07/2025: My boyfriend and I went to this place based on the more or less positive reviews. First of all, I booked, mainly because I knew from their website and online that they had hookah. I arrived and was told it wasn't available. I should have at least let them know. Anyway, we sat down and they pushed us to order the all-you-can-eat option, but in the meantime, we decided to try the sushi. The prices were really high, but anyway, we ordered a few pieces of sushi from the menu. As soon as they put the tuna sashimi on the table, it looked normal in color. As soon as I took the first piece and put it in my mouth, I immediately noticed the unpleasant fishy odor. Nauseous. I won't even tell you about the taste, it was awful. The most disgusting sushi I've ever eaten (and they just put it on the menu, and I don't even mention the prices because they're so exorbitant). I wouldn't have given it a cent! We ate with hesitation about the quality of the fish, and I'm of the opinion that sushi should be treated with care, as you don't mess with raw fish! We ate these raw pieces of sushi, almost having to force ourselves to eat them, because it was like eating spoiled fish. It was definitely a result of improper freezing and terrible preservation in the July heat. We ate, hesitant, thinking something might happen, and it did. In the evening, we went home and I felt terrible! It wasn't even Saturday, and there was no one there! Weekdays are usually when they take more care of the food and the customers, as there's less commotion. The food was poor, extremely low quality; I even felt sick! Who knows how it could have ended! No, no, no! And then the value for money was completely outrageous. I've eaten quality sushi at quality places for much less... It's a shame because it could have been a nice place and made a good profit. The waiters were a bit rude, and after we finished the sushi without asking for anything, they brought us the bill without asking, almost as if they were kicking us out. Bah!

20/07/2025: The thing I'll definitely remember about this place is the utter rudeness and listlessness of the young man who greeted us. When it was time to order, he seemed indisposed and rolled his eyes at every request we made, including mentioning a food allergy to strawberries. His attitude was one of utter annoyance and condescension. Fortunately, he was replaced by a young woman later in the evening. It's a shame because the sushi was decent. I wouldn't recommend it for celiacs, considering my husband had a twinge shortly afterward.

22/03/2026: We've been customers since it opened, and we've given this restaurant a couple of chances to return, but our last dinner there last week made us say enough. The food was cold and subpar, the wok was closed, and the food was poorly cooked on the grill. We finished with hard and certainly not fresh desserts. All-you-can-eat restaurants offer free fortune cookies... but they never do. Unfortunately, I don't recommend it.

11/02/2026: I would have given it 5/5 if it weren't for the constant menu changes, which unfortunately make the experience inconsistent over time. I've always been loyal to a specific 64-piece sushi combo with a bottle of wine (Charme Bianco). Initially, the bottle was replaced with a lower-quality one, then—perhaps due to poor reception—the offer was reinstated. Subsequently, a €2 cover charge was added, and finally, the combo was permanently removed from the menu. It's truly a shame, because the quality of the sushi is excellent and the staff is always impeccable, helpful, and kind. I hope that in the future, a better balance will be found on the menu and that the offer will be available again.

18/01/2026: This was the only one place on Sicily, when we were feeling really good. The service was really nice and helpful and the prices were known from the beginning. It was New Year's Eve, so we got also the champagne, thank you!

15/03/2026: Unqualified staff, dressed as if they were ordinary people, would walk by and throw your plate on the table. Filth everywhere, dirty chairs, an unsightly table. The food was 50/50. Too much confusion, extremely rude people. We paid €36.80 each, too much for all this. Negative feedback. 👎🏼

01/03/2026: I visited this place yesterday and, unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Upon entering, there was a strong smell of disinfectant, which immediately raised my suspicions. The sushi was flavorless: the salmon was bland, the fish roe was indistinct, and even the Pringles tacos (which usually have a strong flavor) were bland. The overall quality seems low. I won't be returning; there are much better options in Palermo.

12/02/2026: We often bring our children here, but today's experience was terrible. I don't understand how the supervisor, Salvo, works; even regular employees know the workflow better than he does. The vending machine didn't have a receipt, and the customer had already paid, but he said the customer hadn't paid. The customer showed him the receipt online, but he couldn't find it and complained that the customer didn't know what he had chosen. In the end, he had to ask a clerk to help him compare prices before he could find it.
