26/01/2026: OK, the best sushi spot in Sarasota, FL is no more... see my prior review history for location, sadly it's gone forever. Now, moving up a slot, is Utamaro Sushi Bar located downtown Sarasota. Been going here for years, always exceptional, now 100% the go to place in SRQ for sushi. Note this review is for take-out, holiday party at the office, everyone but the CEO loves sushi, but he stepped up and tried Yellow Tail, LOL, and loved the cooked orders. You won't be disappointed, please GO. Check out this spread of delish photos! Here we have: SUSHI = Hamachi, Bluefin, Uni, Sake, Scallop, Fatty Tuna. The only thing missing was Saba... I requested but somehow the request was denied LOL by ordering party (private joke). ROLLS = Manhattan, Flamingo, Seakosho, Dragon, Emperor, Spicy Tuna, Bang-Bang, Mexican Roll, Triple Tail, Eel, California.

14/01/2026: We have always had a go to sushi spot. But, tonight we wanted something closer to home. Utamaro exceeded our expectations! Quite possibly the freshest, best quality sushi we have had. Will be our new sushi spot! Thanks for providing such quality and service.

18/02/2026: Everything was perfect, from the food to the service, including the attentiveness of the waiters who welcomed us and took care of every little detail.

03/02/2026: We had a lovely experience, the carpaccio was outstanding, and the maki was very good.

05/03/2026: I've been to Coccaro Beach Club, and my first impression is definitely positive: the place is very nice, well-kept, and has a great aesthetic, especially for those who enjoy taking photos and enjoying a slightly more sophisticated atmosphere than your typical beach club. That said, the space isn't huge, and on some days it can feel a bit smaller than you'd expect. Unfortunately, the food also didn't entirely convince me: considering the rather high prices, I expected something more, both in terms of quality and selection. Another thing worth mentioning is that on social media it looks much larger and more scenic than it actually is in person. It's still a pleasant place to spend a few hours by the sea, but the overall experience isn't as "wow" as the online photos might suggest. In summary: a nice location but not huge, food could be improved, and prices are quite high for what you actually get.

The setting is beautiful, the atmosphere relaxed yet refined, and the food was simply outstanding — every dish full of flavour, freshness, and care. A special mention must go to Davide, our waiter, who was truly incredible. Attentive without ever being intrusive, knowledgeable, charming, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had the best possible experience. Service like this is rare and unforgettable. The owner was equally wonderful — welcoming, friendly, and clearly deeply invested in both the restaurant and its guests. You can feel the heart behind the place, and that makes all the difference. This is not just a meal, it’s an experience. One of those places you leave already planning your return. Highly recommended — a real gem. 🍷✨

14/02/2026: Japanese Chef, it's an à la carte sushi restaurant with excellent value. Excellent quality fish and traditional, even sophisticated, dishes. I recommend it 100%.

04/12/2025: My boyfriend and I went here 2 weeks ago for lunch. We really enjoyed the crispy rice, gua bao, and harakiri udon. The staff was friendly and helpful. We came with a fork because the prices were a bit high for us. We recommend it and will be back.

07/01/2026: Last night I ate at this sushi restaurant and had a truly delightful experience. The food was good, carefully crafted, and tasty, with balanced flavors that are appreciated from the first bite. The atmosphere is one of its strong points: a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease and makes you want to enjoy the moment without rushing. All the staff are friendly and helpful, but a special mention goes to Silvia, who is truly attentive, friendly, and able to make you feel at home. A place I'll gladly return to.

06/01/2026: The staff were incredibly sweet and helpful. I went with my partner and my newborn son (it was our first outing since the birth), and the attention from start to finish really made a difference. Excellent menu and excellent fish quality. I'll be back.

30/12/2025: The quality is comparable to an all-you-can-eat establishment. The prices are exorbitant when considered in context and considered the restaurant's category—a so-called Japanese restaurant. The selection is limited—hot first courses (udon, ramen, etc.) are scarce; the portions are modest; and the price, I repeat, is not proportional to the selection.

13/01/2026: It's like going to dinner with friends; you immediately feel at home. The service is impeccable and very friendly, the food is phenomenal—it's hard to find sushi made like Bento's. It's now become a regular stop when we pass through Brindisi.

07/10/2025: Everything was superb, from the food to the staff, to the softly lit dining room atmosphere. Carefully prepared dishes and quality ingredients (and you can taste it). The chicken is delicious, the gunkan are amazing, I can't decide which I liked best. The best Japanese food I've ever had. Compliments to all the staff and the kitchen. We'll be back as soon as possible. 🫶🏻

03/10/2025: A la carte sushi in Bari. A very nice place that clearly stands out from the competition. A large number of chefs and waiters make the service quite fast. Despite the large availability of tables, it is best to reserve. The quality of the dishes is unquestionable... you can taste all the ingredients that go into the dish. The rice that makes up the rolls arrives still warm, a sign that the product has just been prepared. Very satisfied, the thing that won me over most was the salmon sashimi, it melted in my mouth, the quality of the fish superior to all other restaurants. The rolls are very unique and fusion.
