07/01/2026: A wonderful osmiza (a farm in the Karst region between Trieste and Slovenia where you can enjoy excellent cured meats and cheeses produced on-site) with plenty of seating and large tables inside, a beautiful glass-enclosed veranda (we ate here since it was January 3rd), and plenty of space outside. The ample parking is an added bonus. We sampled truly excellent cured meats and cheeses, savory strudels, and sausages in bread...all at very reasonable prices and with excellent service: everyone was very friendly, kind, and helpful, creating a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere in a beautiful location surrounded by a lovely lawn with olive trees and farm animals. I had a great time and highly recommend it!

12/09/2025: The place is quaint, and you can eat outside in the courtyard, shaded by the trees. Service is fast, and the owners are attentive and courteous. The food is all authentic and high-quality; the cured meats and cheeses are excellent, as are the vegetables and crostini. The desserts are delicious. The prices are very fair. Definitely worth trying again. Reservations are recommended, as it's always crowded during opening hours.

26/08/2025: A wonderful experience, for the food (excellent quality cured meats, cheeses, bread, and desserts!), for the setting (the courtyard of a country house... like being with family!), for the punctual service (very fast, despite the many guests!), for the serene and joyful atmosphere that enriched our holiday! 13/09/2025: We were fortunate enough to visit this wonderful cave exclusively; there were just the two of us and our guide. He was exceptional, knowledgeable; his sensitivity and respect for the place and the animals that live there made the visit so interesting that we forgot to take photos, and, ironically, in hindsight, it made the tour of other caves less magical. Respect that goes far beyond tourist interest. He left us with wonderful memories. Congratulations!

17/02/2026: What a delightful place! Excellent menu, with a variety of (not overwhelming) choices per course. Off-menu, they offer fresh fish available that day. We had turbot and sea bass—delicious! Excellent selection of local wines, excellent table service, with friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended—the photos show a first course, a cod appetizer, and a Slovenian Ribolla. We also had a mixed hot and cold appetizer. Delightful place, well-kept and clean. A great experience, definitely worth returning!

02/10/2025: Sicilians on vacation in Trieste, we have some excellent ice cream shops in Sicily. Being a pastry chef as well, I was fascinated by the layout, cleanliness, and order... The ice cream, of course, was amazing. 😋😋 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED... 😉👍🏼

04/02/2026: While checking into the "Domus Vittoria" vacation rental in Sannicola (Lecce), I bumped into a tourist from Trieste. While waiting to enter, we talked about our respective hometowns, and he recommended this unique and exclusive venue. After a refreshing stop with friends, I can confirm his opinion of the excellent food and professional service. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

12/11/2025: A couple of cold drinks in the afternoon. Free nibbles with them and the service was with a smile. Recommended.

04/01/2026: A very good restaurant with a lovely courtyard, and the interior is also beautifully decorated. Pizza, pasta, fish, seafood… everything we've eaten here so far has been excellent. The service is very friendly and quick. I absolutely cannot understand some of the negative reviews. Making a reservation is definitely a good idea in the summer. Even with a reservation, there's no "reserved" sign on the tables, as some people here seem to misunderstand. So, it's quite possible that tables will be empty and you'll be turned away if you arrive without a reservation. And everyone knows that in Italy you don't just sit down at an empty table, but wait to be assigned one…

28/12/2025: The place is cozy, the service is nice. Slow? Didn't you come to relax, to get wet? Where are you rushing? We came in around 2:30. It was a bit difficult to find the place, even though it was clearly marked. We ate pasta, drank wine, a Tiramisù and coffee. We returned in the evening: pizza, salad, wine, Unicum. We were satisfied with everything. One could find fault. But why? Bravi! 👏👏👏

03/01/2026: Good day, we can report that our dog (a male, on a leash) encountered two male dogs at the entrance to the property who were not on leashes. This led to a disaster. Unfortunately, we had to let our dog run free and, with the help of a bus driver and a cyclist, were able to find him injured in the next town. We hope he recovers and are incredibly grateful to the bus driver and cyclist. We will now avoid the area where the incident occurred. We should have called the police. After more than three months, our dog is still not well. After this incident, we find the sign advising people to treat the animals there with respect and similar advice ridiculous. We entered the property with good intentions.

25/12/2025: Christmas lunch, excellent food and equal service, friendly and polite, served in a timely manner and paid honestly. Will return for a Sunday lunch too! 🤗

13/12/2025: We arrived late (about half an hour before closing) and without a reservation, but we were served well and quickly. The food was well-prepared and the portions were adequate. Prices were average, and the quality was above average. A place to mark in your diary, but without a reservation, you risk not getting a table because it's always packed (the food is really good).

06/01/2026: This place seems plucked from one of the most popular cities... and yet it's nestled right there, in Duino, between a castle, an international college, and the Rilke Trail. Yet it exudes an urban, lively, contemporary atmosphere—something far from expected in a place where bars can be counted on one hand. Inside, it's a comfortable place: furnished halfway between traditional and pop, with weathered wooden tables, colorful interiors mixed with real wood, and beautiful photos on the walls, with stories told by a rightfully proud host. It's one of those places that don't make a scene by chance: they're cared for with heart, warmth, and irony—real stuff. Intelligent management, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, never pretentious. If you arrive in Duino via the Rilke Trail, this is the right place to stop: recover, have a drink, maybe even eat, and take heart before heading back. If even big cities had this spirit, this management, and this warmth more often, they'd probably be better places. Here, meanwhile, it works very well.

09/02/2026: It's a bit remote, but the little extra effort is amply rewarded. A quiet little village of stone, exposed brick, and cobblestones, the place is unfussy, old-fashioned, sincere, and clean, and welcoming. No music, just the conversation. Good selection of first courses, local meats that are always fresh and well-grilled. Delicious desserts (I usually don't order them, but considering they're homemade, I saw them pass by...). Very fair prices, friendly and helpful staff.

11/12/2025: The atmosphere is classic, typical of a Carso tavern. A real gem is the soundproofing, which prevents annoying echoes when the room is full. In the summer, there's a lovely, cool outdoor area. The dishes are excellent, and you have to try them all.
