11/03/2025: The smell of salt, the sea breeze, the "white hills", the horizon that promises a lot of news, the flamingos that stand up with only one leg, the quiet of the world. . It is precisely here that this evening we had the pleasure of dining, in the heart of the Cervia Salt Pan Park, the smallest and most northern salt pan in Italy (in via Madonna della neve 15). The place: "Acervum" takes its name from "Acervus" or "pile" and in addition to being a restaurant it is also an inn - it has five rooms for lodging - and a shop - you can buy their products directly. The restaurant, on the other hand, is a splendid country villa with giant windows surrounded by a breathtaking landscape where you can experience history, savor culture and immerse yourself in nature. Inside we find an elegant, refined and quiet environment that follows a very precise line in the preparations: the use of sweet Cervia salt, each course is characterized by this grain of salt capable of enchanting and seducing even the most demanding palates. We took: 😋 Entrée: • Fried gnocco with sweet Cervia salt and mortadella: thanks to this small entrée we were able to enter the heart of the restaurant, we savored the flavor and sweetness of these small grains of salt that transformed the gnocco into something phenomenal. Good, special, decisive. Appetizer: • Roasted octopus with cream of potatoes and chives: perfectly cooked octopus, the crust wrapped the tender fish that used as a shoe in this cream of potatoes created a perfect balance. • Palette of the Salina: this enormous cutting board cheered up first the sight and then the stomach. Every single course was characterized by the use of Cervia sweet salt. - fried passatelli on mascarpone cream and bacon: wow. The crunchy passatelli that dived into the mascarpone with this flaked bacon was something perfect. Excellent combination. - fried piadina on chickpea hummus: it didn't excite us much. - potato croquette with ham: really large and dry crunchy on the outside with a heart full of mashed potatoes, velvety and sweet with a few splashes of flavor given by the ham. - pecorino cheese with sweet salt honey: good. - meatballs in sauce: yum, small and delicate, they reminded us of Sunday lunch at grandma's. - soffiotti with mortadella: soft and with a generous filling, a shame because they lacked that extra touch of magic in the dough. First course: • Cuttlefish ink lasagna with marinara sauce: seven completely black layers that were divinely combined with this marinara sauce that was very reminiscent of the flavor of risotto. The only shame was that the fish on the surface, having been reheated in the oven, were a little dry. Second courses: • Fritto di Paranza: perhaps the most disappointing dish, good, not very greasy, tasty but there was something unconvincing, perhaps the frozen calamari? • Grilled fish according to the catch: Sea bream, sole, cuttlefish and prawns: good, slightly au gratin but fresh. Desserts: • Rum Cubaney 18 years, Orange with salt, cookies and squares of chocolate with salt: a journey around salt and sweetness, special and exciting. • Semifreddo with Squacquerone, blackthorn jam and salt crumble: we were thinking of something more particular, undoubtedly not bad but a little more elaboration would have made the dish worthy of its ingredients. Here the sweet salt of Cervia is the undisputed protagonist of this place, a place that makes you feel at home without neglecting elegance, a place made of a few courses that still manages to satisfy all customers. We had a good time, we ate very well and we took a journey around this grain of salt that releases a sweet and salty taste at the same time. The details, especially the smallest ones, the ones that no one ever sees are the ones that really make the difference - after all, even a grain is enough to form a pile.

23/02/2025: I have been frequenting this beach establishment for decades. It has changed various managers, names, furnishings and styles but has always preserved the characteristics that in my opinion are fundamental to ensure that any establishment becomes THE establishment that families, generations (as in my case), groups of friends or anyone who loves to spend even just a few hours in a seaside location, choose, becoming in a certain sense part of it. Wide-ranging kindness, availability, hygiene and cleanliness, attention to every need with an eye on spaces free of architectural barriers and accessible to all. Excellent organization, good food with diversified menus for all palates. For the reasons listed above, Romea Beach is the perfect "bathroom" for all ages. The latest management, without taking anything away from the previous ones, is my absolute favorite. The new managers have made this location the ideal place for lovers (and even for those who are not so fond) of the sea. Whether it's a whole day, a short "getaway" during a lunch break or for the whole summer, it's impossible not to get caught up in the enthusiasm that precedes the "appointment" with the sea. I myself, who would live permanently at the "seaside" just by writing this review, have a mind full of wonderful images... Sun, sand, sea, swimming, relaxation, books, peace of mind, total satisfaction, tasty dishes, the scent of sun cream... The colors and lights that I only magically see near the sea shore.

11/12/2024: **Not a place for everyone!** Dear readers and reviewers with hot keyboards, be careful with what you write, because perhaps you are not well-versed enough and do not have the necessary experience to be able to appreciate the quality, the offer, the soul, the essence of this place. Feel free to eat the fish fry with or without bones at the bathroom next door or a few kilometers up or down. I made this premise because I found myself in this place almost by chance and reading from the reviews my expectations were decidedly subdued. With immense pleasure and almost amazement I instead found: Magical environment Highly qualified staff Excellent service Super wine list Excellent raw material quality Unusual and spot-on combinations, perfectly balanced (almost all) My compliments to a place that has nothing to envy of the most famous "stars" of the Riviera, but which demonstrates character and solidity in keeping itself alive and wanting to impose its philosophy with great quality. Well done everyone. I will happily return. It was a pleasant surprise! The prices are in line with the high quality of the ingredients used.

25/09/2024: We're back. We like this place and Irvin Zannoni's creativity. This time too we followed the path traced by the chef and it was a discovery of new shapes, colours, aromas and flavors at every course, where technical skill, obsessive attention to detail and excellent products come together. In this context of excellence I appreciated the closing less, where I had the perception that the effort to escape banality could lead to exaggeration: for my taste the olfactory persistence of a sage ice cream served before dessert is too much.

10/08/2024: Good first courses but fried food is excessively expensive for what it offers! (38 euros two portions of vegetables and fried fish) I would have given 4 stars because despite the price for the fried food consisting of a large quantity of vegetables and fish in small quantities it was still well prepared and fried as it should be but the owner's service for my standards needs to be reviewed, we found ourselves practically taking all the same first because she arrived after a few minutes to take the order and when we asked for a few more minutes she stood in front of the table waiting... If I were you I would review this practice because it risks being experienced as an excess of presence. The first courses are as good as is easy to find in seaside areas but the real plus is the fresh pasta which I really appreciated! For the rest, a nice well-kept bathroom with the possibility of parking.

27/08/2024: Unfortunately this type of ice cream is not to my liking. It is a, dare I say, "melty" ice cream. Even lemon, for example, which should be a bit reminiscent of sorbet, in this ice cream parlor has the consistency of fior di latte.

04/01/2025: Perfect location immersed in city life. In the winter season you suffer from the cold even if the outdoor spaces are slightly heated. Food for aperitifs not abundant but of acceptable quality.

21/02/2025: I ordered a cocktail (the 1854 I think) which was supposed to have gin in it. However, there wasn't a drop of gin and it's a shame for a drink that costs €9. Not to mention the non-communicative employees who put things on your table without even specifying which drink it is. I will never set foot there again and I highly advise you not to enter if you don't want to waste your money. The only good thing: the chicken although too expensive for 4 pieces across the board.

19/02/2025: The service is ok, you can't stay on the veranda in the winter when it's too cold, the heating is ridiculous, I got a drink of an Americano, paid 9 euros, there were 5 ice cubes inside, if you take them out there's an inch of stuff left in the glass, but does it seem normal to you to charge 9 euros for a sip of the stuff? Not recommended do not go there

06/04/2025: Very good food, very nice location and excellent service (very kind and super helpful waiter even asked our friends if they wanted him to cut their child's schnitzel!) The medium-high prices are in line with the restaurants found on the beach and in any case adequate for quality and service... we will be back!
