We went for dinner at the suggestion of a colleague on August 25th.
The location is beautiful, with tables under a pergola.
What struck me most was the service. A waiter introduced himself, I think the manager, and immediately understood what we wanted and recommended some delicious traditional dishes. Since everything was so good, we ordered a second order of pork shank, and he also read my mind, recommending a Terrano pairing.
Finally, a chocolate dessert with a glass of Verduzzo.
A truly amazing dinner, we spent €90 for two, a fair price.

21/07/2025: How can I put it, honestly not wow. First of all, don't book online; the establishment doesn't look at requests, only by phone. You'll never receive a booking confirmation. Right on time. Cold and tense welcome, dogs are not welcome. As for the food, nothing extraordinary, just sauerkraut, low-end, bad oxtail. Not worth the detour. A slip of the tongue, a bad experience of the stay.
19/07/2025: A very pleasant and special place to share Trieste food. Just a few blocks from the main square. Highly recommended.

04/05/2025: A tre passi dal centro con l'atmosfera da osteria come si deve (grazie Sara, un sorriso e una battuta a ogni portata stuzzicano l'appetito) e con il cibo della tradizione. I sardoni (cioè le alici per i non triestini) sono una squisitezza, lo strudel anche e in mezzo primi e secondi di pesce e la jota che - suggerisce Sara - si mangia anche ad agosto. Super apprezzata la disponibilità per un menu un po' diverso per gli amico maratoneti. Estremamente consigliato
25/04/2025: Vom Gefühl her kommt man sich als Nicht-Italiener eher "belächelt" vor; aber das ist nur eine persönliche Einschätzung.
Das Essen ist eher Standard - nichts Außergewöhnliches, aber i.O.
Das Ambiente ist eher, wie in einem Brauhaus bzw. in einerm Eß-Saal: Recht laut und alles wild durcheinander, obwohl das ja auch Charme haben kann. Personal ehre einen "barschen" Ton - aber das ist ein "warmer Kern" :-)
Preis-Leistung gut, allerdings ist der Hauswein eher nicht trinkbar.
Also: Ordentliches Essen zu angemessenem Preis, aber nicht der richtige "ich gehe Essen"-Flair.

11/06/2025: A vedersi sembra una modesta trattoria poi vai a cena e il cibo è veramente ottimo. Sicuramente ci torneremo ogni volta che passeremo da Trieste. SUPER TOP
03/06/2025: Ci siamo fermati a cena una sera in 8 per una cena completa. Malgrado ci fossero molti tavolini liberi ci hanno permesso di sederci solo unendo due minuscoli tavolini… capite che stavamo strettini!!! Il resto tutto buono anche in rapporto al prezzo. Peccato per i modi veramente pessimi del personale
