The sodium vapor lamp shone softly on electric wire.
Lackadaisical vines of wine, ignoring nightly moths
dancing wild in their quest for immolation.
Attentive, red wine lapping.
Quiet waiters audible only by their crunching steps, on pebbles surrounded by stone, sea, trees and vapor.
And my heart tapping wild.

27/08/2024: Historic restaurant (1920) in the center of Trieste which offers truly typical good quality dishes. Friendly, competent and passionate owners.
Recommended dishes:
- Trieste ham served with mustard and horseradish;
- Giulianska (stuffed with ham and cheese);
- potato gnocchi with homemade goulash;
- pork belly with baked potatoes;
- emperor's dessert;
- sweet savory;
- lots of beer...
- Badel Pelinkovac herbal bitters.

The dishes he recommended to us were delicious and made on the spot so the waiting time was a little long but it was totally worth it. Typical and traditional dishes from Trieste.

27/08/2024: Very good dishes, neither too expensive nor inexpensive. We had the goulash. The staff is very nice. They didn't speak English but we managed to understand each other.
Nothing exceptional in terms of atmosphere and decoration.
19/08/2024: Spaghetti with sea food & grilled fish with grilled potatoes were really good. Some of the staff speak decent English. They all were super helpful and positive.

13/08/2024: Il locale è carino,una bella osteria praticamente centrale a Trieste. Il ristorante offre piatti tipici triestini,principalmente. Abbiamo preso il prosciutto cotto tipico, una zuppa e un piatto combinato con diverse specialità. Tutto buono e siamo usciti soddisfatti. Direi ottimo posto per i turisti che vogliono assaggiare i piatti della tradizione. Conto commisurato e giusto, considerando l offerta. Il servizio mi è piaciuto con i ragazzi del locale gentili a spiegare i piatti e simpatici nella gestione del cliente. Consigliato
11/08/2024: From the photos you'd think Novo Foraperfora was a beer hall that happens to serve food, but everything we ate was fantastic. Our waiter, who I think is an owner, took the time to explain all of the day's specials. I had a typical Trieste pasta dish with fresh spaghetti, swordfish, tomatoes and olives. Earthy, super-flavorful and home-made. Side dish was unforgettable: Patate in tecia, which is a typical Friulian contorno with twice-cooked potatoes and pancetta. My wife and I will be attempting to reverse-engineer this in our kitchen until we get it right. Wine was local and delicious. Extremely friendly staff, very patient and appreciative of our rudimentary Italian.

03/08/2024: Traditional Trieste restaurant specializing in boiled meat loin.
The environment of the restaurant is very pleasant and typical, unexpected for a restaurant in a seaside city.
The main dishes are various side dishes such as sauerkraut and potatoes which serve as an accompaniment to the main course, mixed boiled meat.
The one in the photo is for 4 people and I would say rightly balanced, consisting of: cotechino, 2 sausages, tongue, muscle, belly and roast ham at the price of 40 euros more or less.
We then finished dinner by taking 4 sandwiches respectively with roast ham, tongue, and boiled all 4 with mustard.
I highly recommend this place especially for the very fast and extremely friendly service!

27/08/2024: Bad experience, I don't recommend it to anyone, pre-cooked food, reheated and assembled on plates, nothing freshly cooked, not even the slightest, you eat much, much better in self-service or street stalls at least it's freshly cooked, everywhere, but not here. High price and not proportionate to the terrible quality of the products. An experience to forget!! Nothing to do with the old management, menu = decoy.
27/08/2024: Negative experience of Siora Rosa only the name remained. All reheated and low quality food. At Autogrill you eat much better.

14/07/2024: Cibo gustoso e genuino con prodotti freschi, piatti molto abbondanti e con varietà di scelta, personale competente, cordiale e simpatico, prezzi molto contenuti, specialmente in rapporto alla qualità e quantità offerta. Metto 5 stelle perché non ce ne sono 10!

10/07/2024: Can you eat here? Yes of course. Will you come back again? I doubt it.
- a too big massive menu that goes on and an and on. Just because you can dream. About cooking 100 different types of pizza, doesn't mean you should put them all. On the menu. 3/4 of this menu should be deleted.
- food is adequate, but not memorable. Fresh ingredients, but everything just lacks flavour. Seasoning especially.
- service is lazy. Rubbish on the floors, spills left there for thirty minutes. Sometimes you are offered olive oil, of chilli oil, or salt and pepper - but most of waiters just don't bother. Easier to fix thing for yourself.
- the restaurant also serves as a multiple storage area. Cardboard boxes, at least three places store plates, menus, cutlery, oils, napkins. Feels mostly like you are at NG in a storage room.
The whole place is Best Avoided (unless maybe it's the last place you get a table)
09/07/2024: Sempre una bella esperienza. Per noi è stata la terza volta a Trieste e per la terza volta siamo tornati in questa trattoria favolosa. Caratteristica nell'arredamento ma anche nelle pietanze. Pesce ottimo e contorni ben abbondanti. Avevamo fatto una giornata di camminate senza soste e ci siamo alzati da tavola satolli. Felici di essere tornati!
