We've been to this historic Trieste restaurant a couple of times for dinner. We had excellent goulash with potato gnocchi, a fantastic lubianska, and prosciutto in a bread crust with mustard and horseradish. We highly recommend it.

We ate at Marascutti for our entire stay in Trieste. Here you can enjoy traditional Triestine cuisine, expertly prepared. The traditional dishes are all delicious, the service is superb, and Mr. Giulio is a true Triestine host! He'll be able to advise you on the best options. To finish the meal, you absolutely must try the walnut strucolo in straza, a traditional dessert that no one makes anymore, and it's exceptional! Don't buy the usual bitter after dinner; ask for advice and you won't regret it!

We ate at Mr. Giulio and his wife's for almost our entire stay. The traditional Trieste dishes are all delicious and high-quality. We recommend the walnut strucolo in straza (a typical dessert that no one makes anymore in Trieste). Excellent service. Mr. Giulio will also be happy to recommend some excellent homemade liqueurs and spirits. We can't wait to return to Trieste and try their dishes.

A charming, rustic, and pleasant place. We ate here during a visit to Trieste in June 2026. The place is historic and it shows; I found it spectacular. The food was excellent and truly Triestine; I was pleasantly surprised. The owner is very friendly and offers excellent advice on choosing the dishes, which in some cases are truly enormous. :D Thanks for the wonderful culinary experience. If we ever pass through Trieste again, we'll definitely be back. See you soon.

Excellent for those who want to enjoy traditional dishes and ancient flavors. Don't miss the Jota!!! The owners are "characters." He seems to bite...but he doesn't, she is unbeatable in the kitchen. Chatting with them at the end of the evening was a blast.
