10/01/2026: First time in Trento, we Googled a typical trattoria, and we hit the nail on the head! They welcomed us even though it was past 2 PM, and the service was excellent! The place was warm and welcoming, the wine was excellent, and the food was delicious!

01/02/2026: Best price/portion size/quality ratio in the region, just the service could improve a bit, as there were plenty of waiters, but the one we had was a bit lagging. We had lamb, risotto, steak, pizza and salmon. Lamb was very good, not too much fat. Fish was very good and risotto was amazing. Pizza was the best here as well, finally a pizza that is different than every place around and quality/taste was better. Steak was also very good

A place to absolutely avoid. Terrible and completely disorganized service: finding a hair on your plate is bad enough, but the worst is yet to come. One of the dishes was served 20 minutes later than the others because the waitress hadn't even taken the order. To justify herself, she returns to the table, asking, with a confused expression, "Are there 10 or 11 of you?" Surreal.
The icing on the cake comes at the end of the dinner: we order liqueurs and the waitress says, literally, that she doesn't write them down because she remembers them anyway. Guess what? Only the coffees arrive, not even a hint of liqueurs.
Inattention, improvisation, and zero professionalism. I never write reviews, but I think this one might be helpful!!!

29/01/2026: I was in Trento to visit the Christmas markets and visited this historic restaurant in the city.
I savored the sublime flavors of Alto Adige.
The wait staff and owners were very attentive and prompt in fully accommodating our requests.
25/01/2026: Found by chance while visiting Trento... a lovely restaurant with a cellar-like atmosphere, good first and second courses, and desserts, all typical of the area.

06/01/2026: I went to this place one evening for dinner, a table for two, a very nice and welcoming place, nothing to complain about. Service was fairly quick despite the crowd, a bit confusing at times, but all to be expected. A couple of things were unfortunate: the cured meats and cheese appetizer was very good, and the polenta with venison was a shame because it arrived cold, but we always overlook that given the crowd. Then we ordered coffee, which arrived, but unfortunately the waiter dropped his cup and the whole thing fell all over me. It can absolutely happen, and I calmly and calmly reassured him that nothing had happened, and that, indeed, it can happen. When it came time for the bill, we went to the register to pay, and nothing, the owner acted as if nothing had happened. I wasn't expecting a discount, but she might have expressed a modicum of "disappointment." Since I work in the same industry, if that happens, I usually either buy the coffee or apologize again; she doesn't act indifferent.

11/01/2026: The portions were very small and especially very expensive, they charged 12 euros for setting a table (what?) without telling us at first, they charged 3.5 euros for each refill of a jug of water from the tap without even telling us, a very unpleasant and expensive experience, not recommended at all
04/01/2026: We recently spent our Christmas holiday in the region and decided to enjoy Christmas dinner at this lovely restaurant. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience!
3 of my family members chose the beef entree, which was prepared to perfection. I opted for the “Tenticula di Polpo” and it was superb! We all enjoyed a bottle of the Rosso Faye red wine which paired beautifully with our dinner.
Christmas dinner would not be complete without dessert! We all enjoyed the house Christmas dessert special that included Pannatone with a pumpkin mousse - a true original.
Thank you for making our Christmas dinner away from home a memorable experience!

25/10/2025: Starting from the time that the internet says 6:30 PM, but instead we eat at 7:00 PM, and we were greeted in a bad mood. Then the food, regardless of the welcome taste they removed the last two times, I ordered 2 fillets with potatoes, which after being told they were medium rare, arrived almost raw, with a side of potatoes that were so heartbreaking. Unfortunately, memories of the old management come back to me, especially the kindness and welcome of the past, which are missing today. It's a shame that traveling 40 km to return to your favorite restaurant and being disappointed is not good. To those of you who come to eat, the difficult decision is yours. Good evening.

We didn't eat, but we stopped for a break from cross-country skiing in the afternoon.
19/11/2025: The location struck me as very charming, nestled among the mountains with a relaxing view of the valley. As soon as I sat down, I noticed the very friendly and helpful service: the waiters were attentive and patient.
The menu offers typical dishes from the Aosta Valley: I ordered a well-prepared polenta concia and their exquisite homemade gelato (photo), both well-executed and with distinct flavors. I also appreciated the platters of local cheeses and cured meats.
The atmosphere is rustic and welcoming, with an outdoor lawn where you can relax after your meal. The restaurant can get crowded outside, but it still offers a sincere and informal welcome. I recommend booking at least the day before.
In short: if you're looking for a quiet lunch with local dishes and attentive service in a natural setting, Chalet MontDolent is a very good choice.
