24/11/2024: We had the pleasure of having lunch at the Osteria delle Catene in San Gimignano and it was a wonderful experience! Gino and Virgilio are two exceptional restaurateurs: kind, welcoming and professional. We started with a platter of typical cured meats and cheeses, really excellent, and then enjoyed some pappardelle with mushroom and truffle cream, simply spectacular! All accompanied by two excellent glasses of wine: a Chianti and a Vernaccia, both worthy of note. We highly recommend this tavern for anyone who wants to live an experience full of taste and quality. Compliments!

17/11/2024: Very intimate location, in a side street of San Gimignano. Welcomed with courtesy and professionalism, we opted for the 7-course menu with matching wine pairing. Very well done Tuscan themed amuse bouche. Excellent bread service: really good flaky bread and tomato focaccia. Let's move on to the appetizers: scallop with aubergine in 3 processes and peach, calamari lampredotto with squid garum and green sauce, and finally red snapper meunière and friggitelli (WOW!!) As for the first courses, pepper and robiola risotto from Roccaverano and agnolotti stuffed with mussel cream and Vernaccia, truly excellent. As a second course we were served a pigeon Wellington with sausage, cuttlefish and squid ink sauce, nothing short of spectacular. As a last course: chocolate nest, ganache, brewer's yeast ice cream and eggnog, really well done. Congratulations to Letizia for the choice of wines and for the truly impeccable service, to the owner Ardit and to the chef Elvis for the choice of raw materials and their use. Well done everyone!

14/11/2024: They have destroyed our day A dark, tall, thin, disrespectful, rude waiter, with no empathy, and very little humility. As soon as we enter, without speaking anything, he asks us for the covid pass, telling them that we want outside, immediately afterwards he tells us with great pride that they are a Michelin restaurant,... I would like more. Anyone in Malaga costs 20 times less and is better, they repeat to us that they are not Tuscan food, that they make fashionable food... prejudging what the client might want or be able to pay... it couldn't be worse professional, and we without opening our mouths, and without ask ourselves nothing about what we like or what we want. We ordered a tasting menu, €95 each, final bill €214, bad gestures when putting a bottle of water on the table, bad manners when I tell him to bring me a glass for water, because a normal waiter brings a bottle of water with one glass or two at a time, he doesn't give 2 trips for that ridiculousness, he doesn't look up to see if we want something, and at the end of everything in a horrible way he asks us to tip our colleagues, forcing us to put next to a device that puts percentages when paying with a card… poor colleagues, tired of working so that this person who thinks he is a professional takes care of his work. A nonsense. The regular food, of course for €95 per menu is a real savagery. And the worst of all, 3 hours to eat 7 dishes, where 3 of them are a bite…. We entered at 8:00 p.m. and there was only one table, they left us until 11:00 p.m. and there was no one, the services without paper…. After all, we had to wait almost 10 minutes for them to look at us and ask for the bill. A disaster, possibly the worst money spent in my life on food. Such a beautiful town to see and walk around, and we were wasted 3 hours of a magnificent trip, and paying a real outrage for a regular meal, a theft in the price and a waiter to call it that… The waiter looked like he wasn't European, but he is Italian.

05/12/2024: We had lunch (my daughter and I) on the recommendation of a saleswoman at a local store. I should have left as soon as I looked at the menu, but I didn't follow my intuition. We ordered 2 identical pastas with artichoke filling and cheese and truffle sauce. It was delicious, but EUR 20 for 5 pieces is too expensive!!!! They charge EUR 3.5 cover charge (coperto) per person, another rip off!!! Total value EUR 51 for 2 pasta dishes and a coca cola. Definitely overpriced for what it delivers. I don't recommend it!!!! There are other options with better value for money.

20/11/2024: Completely in love with this restaurant, the beautiful patio they have, full of plants. Amazing food, super friendly waiters. A little more expensive than the other restaurants, but nothing excessive. And in San Gimignano, one of my favorite towns in all of Italy! 🇮🇹 Of course: AMAZING vegetarian options 🌱

06/07/2024: We loved this restaurant! The views were spectacular overlooking the countryside. It definitely had the traditional dishes we’ve come to expect from the area but a few different options including fried chicken with friend vegetables in a tempura style. And these fried potatoes that were a cross between a potato chip and a French fry. Really good.

30/11/2024: A little hidden place in San Gimignano but really nice and well-kept. Aesthetically perfect precisely for the context in which we find ourselves. Friendly and nice staff! We ate very well, from the first course to the last. There are no flaws. I also find the price fair given the location in which it is located and the quality of the materials served. We will definitely be back

01/11/2024: Trattoria in a little street a little hidden from the eyes of tourists. Rustic atmosphere, but nice and very welcoming. The service started out a little slow, but recovered very well. The dishes were really good, generous and tasty portions. Wine list with a wide local offer, when asked for a suggestion, the proposal was very honest in terms of price, which often doesn't happen. Honest account. Advised!

27/08/2024: I recently dined at Il Pino, a place that left quite an impression—though not for the reasons one might hope. The food itself was satisfactory, but the atmosphere was overshadowed by the bizarre behavior of the owner, who seemed more interested in performing antics than running a restaurant. As we were seated and began our meal, we couldn't help but notice the owner hanging from the balcony by one arm, a sight that was both alarming and distracting. He remained there throughout our entire dining experience, grunting and snuffling in a way that was impossible to ignore. His constant, unsettling presence made it difficult to enjoy the food or the company. While the service was adequate, and the dishes were reasonably well-prepared, the overall experience was marred by the owner's antics. Dining out should be about enjoying good food and a pleasant atmosphere, but at Il Pino, the wild behavior of the owner took center stage in the worst possible way. If you’re looking for a quiet, enjoyable meal, this might not be the place for you. But if you’re in the mood for something truly out of the ordinary—though not necessarily in a good way—you might find Il Pino worth a visit. Personally, I found the experience off-putting and unlikely to return.

16/12/2024: Purtroppo a parte i crostini toscani che erano molto buoni devo dire che il resto è stato deludente. Abbiamo preso delle pappardelle al sugo di cinghiale e delle fettuccine ai funghi porcini. La pasta sembrava fatta in casa quando c'è l' hanno servita era cruda, immangiabile, soprattutto le fettuccine con i porcini. Alla fine c'è la siamo comunque trovata sul conto anche se l'abbiamo fatta portare indietro senza chiedere il cambio. Per fortuna fatto presente la cosa al contabile, ha avuto il buon gusto di detrarla dal totale. Purtroppo brutta esperienza, perché comunque entrambe le pietanze non erano cotte.

03/12/2024: A not so small place to dine quietly. The food was generally good, the pizza was a little disappointing, but hey, it's normal, I had high expectations. The service, despite being somewhat simple, at some point was a little rough and it felt like the plate was being thrown at you.

28/09/2024: The food was good I guess but the bistecca is far better in my country and not that expensive. I would recommend not to try it. Is mostly just marketing. The service was very good.
