09/03/2026: We visited this restaurant for lunch and the experience was impeccable from start to finish. Special praise goes to Chef Vincenzo: his dishes are a perfect balance of flavors and creativity; you can tell there's great passion and top-quality ingredients behind every course.
Equally crucial was the welcome from the dining room manager, Pasquale, who looked after us with extreme professionalism, friendliness, and a rare level of customer service. He made us feel at home right away, offering us the best advice.
A perfect combination of kitchen and dining room. We'll definitely be back, highly recommended!

20/01/2026: Just outside the walls of the picturesque village of Pienza, near the parking lots—the ones with parking discs, that is—on the narrow road that slopes down from the village, toward Colombaiolo, lies this small trattoria. It's rustic in style but has a somewhat unassuming appearance, to use the Tuscan dialect term. It lacks personality and a sense of local identity. Its notable virtuous soul is a small fireplace in the center of the dining room. As is well known, a fire creates a convivial and pleasant atmosphere, especially on gray winter days!
La Chiocciola is always very popular, especially with tourists, but there's no shortage of locals, too. This is my second visit!
The food is honest, simple, and unpretentious. The ingredients used are certainly not top-notch, but that's fine. In short, traditional dishes, discreet service, and reasonable prices.

21/02/2026: The food and atmosphere are good, but beware of the catch: the menu on the restaurant door indicates a (divine) steak for €6. However, this price is per 100g, and the cut of meat there is enormous. It could easily be shared by two people. Therefore, order just one steak and consider paying around €40 for that piece.

18/02/2026: Very touristy. The view is beautiful but the food is average.
21/01/2026: The start wasn't the best because we were greeted by a foreign girl who didn't speak Italian and who gave us two English menus because the Italian ones had run out. We received room temperature water for some reason attributed to the establishment, and we received ice after about 10 minutes.
After this little mishap, we were given an Italian menu and were able to order. The food was really good, and the platter was very, very generous. Recommended.

05/08/2025: Pochi piatti ma molto ben cucinati, atmosfera familiare e un oste che ti fa sentire a tuo agio. Prezzi alti ma in linea con lo standard di Pienza: molto gradito il liquore finale…. ci facciamo uno Spinello? 😁 Ci tornerei anche domani!
31/07/2025: Ambiente gradevole e personale molto gentile menù molto limitato e prezzi esosi. Pici all'aglione buoni ma non abbondanti e un prezzo elevato (18 euro). Una lattina di Coca Cola 5 euro, un bicchiere di vino della casa 8 euro.
Non lo consiglio nè ci tornerei.

03/12/2025: Beautiful B&B! The location is simply perfect, in the heart of the city and close to everything. The rooftop terrace is incredible, the perfect place to relax and enjoy the view. The rooms are tastefully decorated and truly welcoming. The owners are extremely kind and helpful, making you feel right at home. Without a doubt, the best place in town.
30/10/2025: Everything was wonderful, from the owner who welcomed us, actually waited until late, to the clean and spacious room, to the excellent and plentiful breakfast! What more could I say? Excellent location for exploring the city!

16/03/2026: A very welcoming and well-maintained restaurant with parking. Very helpful staff. Excellent food made with fresh, local ingredients. A healthy menu is available. Excellent meats, homemade desserts, and a good wine list with a selection of French wines. Fairly priced for the area.
01/03/2026: Four of us tried this restaurant for lunch/a stop during a trip. The place is very well-maintained, and the food was excellent. We ordered the chicken liver pâté, the pici all'aglione, the pici al ragù, and the guinea fowl tortelli in mushroom broth. The quality of the ingredients seems good. However, I think the prices aren't in line with the portions (6 tortelli for €22, pici all'aglione €16). Perhaps it would be helpful to offer a tasting menu. What's unthinkable is the Breton butter served with the bread. In Tuscany, needless to say, you expect olive oil, especially from a restaurant whose website states: "Our cuisine follows simple rules: Tuscan tradition and seasonality."
The staff is welcoming but unprofessional; I didn't appreciate the rush to clear the table when the livers were still in the center.

20/01/2026: We ate at this place about two years ago. The food and atmosphere are very good. The service is also very fast and the price is fair. Even though Pienza is small, it's easily accessible because it's located at the entrance/exit of the historical part of town. We would definitely go back.
24/12/2025: From appetizer to dessert, everything was wonderful and delicious! The staff was attentive to detail and kind! Rita in the kitchen was the best! Highly recommended!

15/07/2025: Vi fik anbefalet Pienza som udflugtmål. Vi kørte dertil og vi blev ikke skuffet. Super smuk og hyggelig sted og sikke en udsigt. Vi fandt denne lille restaurant og vi blev enig om at her skulle frokosten indtages, der var skygge. Vi valgte to forskellige traditionelle retter, begge vældig gode og velsmagende. Vi valgte en flaske hvidvin til, der var et godt udvalg af vine. Tjeneren denne eftermiddag var meget kompetent og tilstede.
12/07/2025: Abbiamo cenato qui due sere e ci siamo trovati molto bene. Dagli antipasti ai pici. Tutto squisito. Staff molto gentile e disponibile.

20/05/2025: In visita culturale a Pienza con Gruppo il Lions Club Soncino, abbiamo prenotato per tempo per 28 persone, ci è stata allestita una sala praticamente solo per noi, siamo stati accolti con il sorriso da parte di tutto il personale, simpaticissimi ed efficienti - predisposta tavolata a ferro di cavallo molto conviviale.
Il Menù è stato concordato per un pranzo Light, in realtà pur avendo optato per una solo portata di carne "Tagliata di manzo ai 4 pepi con verdure grigliate" che ci è stata servita in dosi abbondanti con più passaggi, personalizzandola alle richieste di chi desiderava la stessa con o senza il pepe, chi l'ha preferita ben cotta piuttosto che al sangue.... insomma non ci sono stati problemi, sono stati carinissimi ed hanno esaudito tutte le richieste.
Si è proseguito con il dolce Crostata con marmellata fatta in casa, davvero buona.
Nota bene avevamo nel gruppo degli intolleranti ad alcuni alimenti ed una celiaca ed ed andato tutto bene senza alcun disturbo alimentare nei giorni a seguire.
Tutti soddisfatti , consigliamo vivamente il Ristorante La piazzetta.

23/05/2025: Abbiamo cenato per il nostro anniversario di nozze .
Il luogo é stupendo, vista incantevole così come il tramonto . Il cibo ottimo ed il prezzo interessante.
La mise en place raffinata e se si ha freddo viene offerta una coperta .
Lo consiglio vivamente .
