12/10/2025: Recommended to this place by a friend of ours who live in Milan, turned out to be the best dinner we had in the city. This small Pugliese restaurant has everything a perfect restaurant has to offer, amazing food, great non pretentious atmosphere, great wine and friendly staff and owner. We had both grilled seafood, Melanzane, Scallopini di Porcini—and they were to die for. The fava beans and spinach side was unexpectedly delicious—and arguably the star of the meal. I almost don’t want to give them this good review because im afraid i will ruin this gem with crowd! But definitely going to back whenever we’re in Milan! 🫶🏼

30/09/2025: I've been frequenting this trattoria for over 30 years now, and the food has never failed. The food is always excellent, with home-made quality for all the delicacies of Apulian cuisine. Franco is a friendly and attentive host, so much so that even foreign customers appreciate him despite not speaking a word of English... a sign he knows his stuff!

30/09/2025: Essenza, what a place you can't miss if you love seafood. Here, Giuseppe knows how to handle, prepare, and enhance the catch with top-quality preparations. Stars aren't awarded here by a renowned guide, but by the dishes the chef is capable of preparing for you. Oysters like you've never eaten before, lobster that speaks to you when you eat it, a truly amazing entree... what can I say? The Brescia restaurant that few people know exists. Essenza isn't a discovery, but it's a place you can't miss, and if you go... you'll return again and again. Entrées: lobster, squid with an exhilarating filling, crispy octopus with tomato mousse, don't miss the oysters—one, two,... ten, twenty... please stop me because you'd eat at least twenty... and for dessert... zabaglione with a surprise to degrease. The most special place in Brescia, unique in its kindness and passion. For all those who understand and for the few who already know... Try, review, try again, review, and come back... Oh, and I forgot about Daniela in the dining room. With her professionalism, kindness, and passion, she knows how to make you feel unique and offer you an unforgettable evening. Seeing is believing. 25/09/2025: We stumbled upon this place by chance and were pleasantly surprised. We ordered fried artichokes, lobster gnocchi, a Milanese cutlet, and a dessert. Everything was delicious and well-prepared. The atmosphere is informal, and the staff is attentive and friendly. I definitely recommend this place!

25/09/2025: The appetizers were excellent. The first course was good, but not as good as the appetizer. The bill was just a little expensive.

15/09/2025: A somewhat disappointing family lunch! We had booked a table for seven at 1:15 PM... encountering traffic, we called to let them know we'd be late for 10-15 minutes and were told they'd wait for us. The response seemed a bit strange to me, but only upon our arrival did I understand why. We arrived, found our relatives already at the table, and sat down. A waiter immediately arrived with the menus, hastily and somewhat rudely urging us to choose quickly since it was late and the kitchen closed at 1:45 PM. We each ordered one dish given our limited time, and the service was very quick. Two orecchiette pastas, neither excellent nor infamous (they lacked a bit of flavor, a shame because Apulian cuisine is usually very tasty), two very good mixed fried dishes, and a good grilled fish and sea bream... for entrees, there was a bruschetta each and a glass of white wine. The desserts weren't everyone's cup of tea, but my nun's tit was good...€6 each. Above-average prices. What can I say? Overall, it was a disappointing lunch, with no welcome, and a rushed service. I don't understand why they didn't tell us when we booked that the kitchen closed so early. We would have chosen differently because we certainly wouldn't have been happy if we'd caused an inconvenience and felt like we were in the way. The restaurant's opening hours show that the restaurant closes at 3:00 PM, and we couldn't have imagined the kitchen closing so early.

04/10/2025: This is a lovely place, seems like a little of the main road but with a heart and soul and a great house wine. Food choice is really far from mainstream and is delicious. They have horse meat on the menu, and many other interesting things. Service is on a very good level

28/09/2025: Very good and exceptional food. The only downside is the wait, not so much for a table as for the time it takes to receive your order. We waited over 60 minutes from the moment we arrived. It takes a lot of patience and calm.

24/07/2025: Must try! Sliced horsemeat served on a metal tray (?!), literally buried in arugula and cherry tomatoes. The steak was perhaps 2 mm thick and cooked in the center but raw on the edges. Served on a metal tray, it inevitably arrived cold at the table. I think the ingredients were good (as were the other dishes served to us), but the cooking and plating left much to be desired. The staff could also be more present at the tables (I don't mean intrusive) to try to respond to customer needs (after three minutes of no one being seen, I got up to get the salt. Three minutes with a dish in front of me that had already arrived cold is quite a long time). I promise myself I'll return to give it a second chance.

03/10/2025: Rustic and informal atmosphere, the staff makes you feel at home. We were undecided between several dishes, and they offered us half portions so we could try a little bit of everything, which we greatly appreciated. Plus, even the half portions were very generous. The orecchiette with horse meat ragù and the meatballs with tomato sauce are highly recommended. The prices are more than fair.

12/10/2025: It's the first time I've sat down at a Puglia restaurant in Milan and tasted a dish that reminds me of one my grandmother used to make. The quality of the ingredients is excellent and you can taste it, and when you try these dishes, you truly feel at home. The first courses are highly recommended, with meat and vegetables that are truly flavorful. The waiters are very friendly, and despite the restaurant being always busy, they make jokes and know how to manage their customers well. The prices are a bit higher but in line with Milanese prices. I'm still happy to pay for quality dishes, because often in the city center you pay very high prices for poor quality dishes that pass off as a gourmet experience. As someone who comes from a Puglian family, I highly recommend this place if you want to relive your roots or learn more about Puglia's culinary culture!
