A fantastic experience, dishes with authentic flavors and attentive and knowledgeable staff, a truly amazing experience.
30/12/2025: Nestled in the green countryside of the Alto Pescarese area, La Bandiera confirms its position as one of the most interesting addresses in central Italy. The Michelin-starred restaurant welcomes guests with a refined and understated atmosphere, surrounded by rural views that reflect the authentic soul of Abruzzo.
The service is punctual, attentive, yet never intrusive: a difficult balance to achieve, contributing to the sense of welcome and familiarity that permeates the room from the moment you enter.
We chose the "Countryside and Sea" tasting menu (€100, drinks not included), a menu whose price alone suggests a philosophy focused on affordable quality.
Dish after dish, the tasting reveals a cuisine focused on local ingredients, without excessive creativity for its own sake. No kidneys, no pigeon: here, the land takes the lead, with sincere pairings and distinct flavors.
Among the courses, the Artichoke Absolute stands out, an off-menu addition that proved to be the true star of the evening: a harmonious dish, technically impeccable, and intensely regional. Overall, the quality is truly astonishing, especially considering the average price (about €8 per dish, compared to the overall offering).
The only misstep comes with dessert. The "Gran Sasso" dessert, inspired by the iconic mountain of Abruzzo, isn't convincing: an ambitious idea that, however, lacks balance and coherence with the preceding menu. Yet, in a perfect dinner, dessert should be the most pleasant memory. The small pastries are also uninspiring: three centerba-style pastries may seem excessive, especially for those who don't like or consume alcohol.
Aside from these details, La Bandiera remains a top-notch gastronomic experience, with a nearly unbeatable value for money in Central Italy. It's worth a visit for anyone who wants to discover a cuisine that manages to be both "starred" and deeply distinctive.
Finally, praise goes to the maître d'—likely the chef's son—for his courtesy and attention to detail: the choice to offer an additional dish, a rare gesture at establishments of this caliber, demonstrates a human approach that completes an already memorable dining experience.

26/12/2025: A fantastic selection of appetizers, including cac&ov meatballs, pumpkin, peppers and eggs, potatoes, and more, all delicious and worth trying. We had two first courses, delicious mushroom ravioli, and then arrosticini, large and well-cooked.
Highly recommended.

16/12/2025: We ordered an Abruzzo appetizer for two; the tartare was good, and the very salty mutton was worth a bottle of champagne.
Unfortunately, our arrosticini were of terrible quality😏 (it smelled terrible 😞).
As per the Michelin guide, it definitely didn't impress me at all.
We paid in full without offering a coffee as an apology, so we didn't leave a tip.

The chef and owner pay great attention to the smallest details; even simple dishes always have a touch of quality and excellence.
Service and courtesy are certainly not lacking.
And what can I say if the chef personally comes to the table to make sure everything is fine?

The owner was extremely helpful from the start and took great care of us. I hope to see him again every time I'm in Pescara!

Today I went to their new location on the seafront, always top-notch in terms of quality and service.
17/09/2025: On Sunday, five of us went to lunch at the new Scaricarello a 4 vele. The place was half-empty. We sat down at 1:00 PM, and the first courses arrived at a quarter to 3:00 PM. During the hour and three-quarter wait, we ate the bruschetta we ordered (very good, but it took 45 minutes for it to arrive, and we had to order it three times: the first two times, they'd lost the order) and drank the wrong wine (we ordered one bottle, and another arrived—we didn't ask for a change, fearing we'd have to wait an hour). During the nearly two-hour wait for our first courses, besides drinking wine and hopefully staring at the kitchen in the back of the restaurant, we also witnessed a couple of incorrect orders, meaning waiters came to our table with dishes ordered by other tables. The problem, then, is clearly in the kitchen: the restaurant can't efficiently manage such an extensive menu (from 100 Abruzzo-style first courses to fish dishes, meat main courses, and numerous appetizers with various platters), and in fact the only thing that arrives quickly is dessert, because it's already ready. It's strange to be in a restaurant at lunchtime and see that almost no one is eating because everyone is waiting! It's a shame because the dishes were good; the first courses were really well cooked, and the second courses looked tasty too. In short, the talent is there, but the skill is lacking. Let's hope they improve... I wouldn't go back now; no one wants to wait two hours for a plate of pasta, no matter how good it is.

04/01/2026: The food was really good, enjoyable, and traditional. It's a shame about the service; we waited too long, and in the end, we gave up on the main course because it was already 3:00 PM by 12:50, so it's not a good time between meals. Otherwise, I highly recommend it!

14/12/2024: CLIENTE abituale di Fattoria Galasso, oggi ho provato le scrippelle mbusse. Ottimo piatto invernale: brodo di gallina,vitello e tacchino fatto come una volta. Sopra hanno aggiunto anche della pizza reale abruzzese. Squisite. Servizio sempre eccellente. Mi trovo sempre molto bene . Qui.

21/06/2025: Veniamo catapultati, grazie ad una famiglia locale che ci ospita, in questo vortice di fine anni '80. Bottiglie di Valentini esposte in fila, poster di cene sociali attaccate alle pareti. Il locale ben presto si popola di individui di tutte le età. La figlia del titolare ci prende l'ordine, ma arrivano cose anche extra: peperoni e uova, pallotte cacio e ova, misticanza strascinata con fagioli del posto, formaggio fritto e... Fegato con cipolle. Mai mangiato così buono. L'antipasto vale la sosta, se non fosse che, per continuare, abbiamo optato per due paste della casa (fatevi consigliare) e una grigliata di agnello.
Il servizio è ancora con il gueridon, con la massima attenzione e cordialità e il proprietario è davvero un tipo da conoscere!
Una sosta che ricorderò perché la porto nel cuore e che mi ha fatto scoprire la vera cucina e accoglienza abruzzese.
