31/05/2025: We ordered dinner around 7:50 pm for a group of eight people. After just over two hours, only two pizzas and one pasta had arrived. The other five pizzas, despite numerous requests to the staff, continued not to arrive. The situation was surreal: not only were the waiting times interminable, but the staff management was completely disorganized. The people who worked there were shouting at each other, talking back to customers and a tense and unpleasant atmosphere had been created in the place, with other customers protesting and raising their voices. No one could give clear explanations, no one took responsibility for the poor service.

25/05/2025: Appena arrivate abbiamo chiesto se fosse possibile sederci, nella maniera piú gentile possibile e la risposta ricevuta è stata “dipende, se vi sedete al tavolo pagate il tavolo, se ordinate dentro state all’impiedi” in maniera un po’ arrogante. Una volta sedute abbiamo ordinato 2 caffè e due cornetti, una banalissima colazione che normalmente verrebbe a costare 5€ e invece quando abbiamo visto 11,50€ siamo rimaste un pò stranite. Ma ok, senza contestare abbiamo dato al cameriere 12€ dove non è mai arrivato il resto, attenzione, non mi perdo per 0,50 centesimi, ma la buona educazione vuole che tu mi porti il resto e da li sta al cliente dire “no, tieni il resto”. Delle signore erano sedute al tavolo vicino al nostro, dove abbiamo potuto udire lo stesso cameriere dire “l’ordine scrivilo tu” lasciando una penna e un foglio, ovviamente la signora e le compagne sono andate vie, e certo spendere un sacco per una colazione e oltretutto fare un’ordinazione da se? Ma dai. L’unico motivo per la quale questo bar va avanti e mi dispiace dirlo, è solo la vicinanza con il santuario di Pompei. Se volete fare i furbi, fatelo almeno con i turisti (e neanche).

29/08/2024: Visité aquí en mi primer día de un viaje de una semana, regresé 3 veces más esa semana. El servicio es muy rápido y la señora mayor que parece ser el propietario es muy amable y encantador. La comida es realmente a un precio razonable y absolutamente delicioso. El entorno del patio es precioso y después de una semana no encontré ningún lugar tan encantador para sentarme y disfrutar de una comida y unas copas.

11/03/2025: I would like to point out that for some strange reason the review was published about two years later. We went to Hortus for a quick lunch yesterday. The welcome is top notch, they are all friendly and nice, as well as professional, but what went over the top is the quality and flavor of the food: as in an ancient Neapolitan tavern, you can find almost forgotten flavours, excellent Campania products, both produced and from the land, and dishes prepared in an impeccable way. In addition to what you can see in the photo, we tasted the "broccoli and sausage" pasta (I don't remember the name they gave it)... sublime.

25/02/2025: It was alright. It’s near Pompei so that’s where it has its value.
