22/08/2024: Wow wow wow, as we mentioned already to the team on our way out; “best food we’ve had during our vacation”. Please be aware that the carbonara is addictive and will have to be ordered twice 😇 Lovely place, lovely service, lovely food. We found this place on a complete blind search and happened to discover a gem. Hopefully this gem gets discovered by many others. Keep this up, you guys provide the best service one can find in the south of Italy. 🩷🩷🩷

17/12/2024: Historic venue which for years has guaranteed a certain quality, but which has no longer ensured that the cost remains average and which therefore is currently to be considered as a restaurant of a reasonable level but with really high prices.

09/12/2024: Cool place with an incredible atmosphere. As an American I was pleasantly surprised to see the serving sizes here are gigantic even to my standards. Overall I recommend it it’s right on the beach so a great view when you’re done. Also, great spot to watch soccer.

20/11/2024: No encontré este pequeño café pintoresco por accidente, tanto como por un accidente. Nuestra tercera noche en Meta mi esposa tuvo un pequeño accidente. Caminando de regreso a nuestro hotel desde la estación de tren Meta en la oscuridad tropezó con el pavimento irregular y se lastimó el pie. Fuimos capaces de cojear de vuelta a nuestro hotel y fui capaz de tomar un poco de hielo del comedor. Revisando nuestra bolsa de primeros auxilios descubrí durante mi última reorganización de la misma debo haber sacado el vendaje tenso y la crema antiinflamación. La recepción no tenía ninguno, pero dijo que había una farmacia a pocos pasos que probablemente lo haría. Las malas noticias fueron cerradas y no abrirían hasta la mañana siguiente. Me desperté temprano antes del desayuno y lo más importante mi café y partí rápidamente a la Farmacia planeando llegar como abrió. Ok me topé allí medio dormido, recuerda que todavía no había tenido mi dosis de cafeína por la mañana. O caminaba más rápido de lo que pensaba, o el reloj del Farmacéutico era diferente al mío, ya que las persianas seguían bajadas. Afortunadamente, no estaban en el pequeño café de enfrente. El Caffè Caracciolo se encuentra en la esquina de Via Angelo Cosenza y Via Caracciolo frente a una pequeña plaza triangular. Aunque estoy seguro de que atrae al patrón ocasional de los hoteles de playa cercanos, rápidamente me di cuenta de que este no era un lugar turístico. El mostrador y las mesas estaban llenos de lugareños, en su mayoría aquellos que tomaban su desayuno antes de irse a trabajar o dejar a los niños en la escuela. Los mismos tipos de personas que habíamos visto en el autobús a principios de esa semana que va desde Meta al centro de Sorrento. Asentí con la cabeza saludos educados e hice mi contra. Hablo solo unas pocas palabras de italiano, pero afortunadamente dos de ellas son capuchino y cornetto. Pude hacer mi pedido, pagar y apoyarme contra el mostrador para saborear tanto mi tan necesario capuchino como mi entorno. No estoy seguro de si pasé como local, o al menos como visitante italiano, pero al menos parecía que había pasado el examen de aceptación de los lugareños. El café era excelente, caliente y sabroso y no lo digo solo porque era el primero que necesitaba. La pastelería también era bueno, cálido y fresco. El lugar a pesar de las multitudes estaba limpio, y aunque pequeño bien dispuesto. El servicio me pareció rápido y amable. Justo cuando empezaba a disfrutar, miré por la ventana y las persianas de la farmacia al otro lado de la calle se enrollaron. A regañadientes escurri los últimos restos de mi taza la puse en el mostrador, asentí con la cabeza mi agradecimiento y salí por la puerta. Cruzando la calle rápidamente hice mis compras y me dirigí de nuevo por la calle al hotel y a mi paciente.

30/10/2024: A very original corner cafe. Very good coffee and great particles. We come here regularly when we are in Meta.

14/11/2024: At the beginning of November we found this place by chance on our way back from Positano and it was a great discovery! Local and genuine flavours. Excellent pizzas, different from the usual Neapolitan pizza. At the end of lunch they offered us a limoncello made by them, unique I would say! Very kind staff. If we are in the area again we will happily return! Thank you

21/08/2024: Great find! We had already heard very good things about it but due to the distance we had to wait for an occasion like this, we found ourselves here after having ordered a birthday cake six days before from a pastry shop near our home, the evening before the birthday we were told that it wasn't as much as possible. We ordered a delicious Kinder Pinguì cake and a tray of mignon. Despite the distance they held up and everything was delicious. You have some new regulars!

21/06/2024: An institution of pastry making and customer service, Bar Romano is always a certainty and it is a pleasure to know that you can turn to it to order pastries for events as well as for a 'sweet' stop when passing through. I highly recommend.

27/08/2024: The food was very good, we had Ricciola carpaccio as a starter. As mains we had the fish of the day, Wild Sea Bass all'acqua pazza, it was amazing. Tagliatelle ai Gamberi (prawns) also amazing. The sides were good. Very nice and romantic view at sunset. The staff very professional, friendly and they know everything about every dish! We spent little for the quality of the food, for the service and for the ambience. Well done to everybody!

26/08/2024: Top restaurant Excellent staff I have eaten in many restaurants....but I left this one enthusiastic, I ate the spaghetti with sea urchin, a dish cooked in a simple but excellent way!!! An explosion of flavor. For second I ordered fried calamari...another surprise!! Light, dry frying and the squid were covered in a cascade of vegetables cut into strips and always fried in an excellent manner!! I will absolutely return and I wholeheartedly recommend it, a top evening, compliments to the chefs, waiters and those who manage the restaurant!

11/08/2024: The whole experience was not pleasant. It started with a drink that was not complete. They didn’t include a slice of lemon or orange in the drink, which cost eight euros. The catering team was awkward, as they were hesitant to serve our family seated next to the ocean view. The fish we ordered was undercooked, so we had to ask them to cook it again. The burger came with no bun, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, or cheese; it was just a plain patty with fries on top of it. They forgot to bring the basket of bread, which was part of everyone's meal offer on the menu, listed at €16–€18. I was charged €20 for a very small salad next to the fish, and it wasn’t fresh. The bottle of water on the menu was listed as €2.53, but the prices were outdated, and they charged €2.50 for each person. We found this to be very high. If you’re allergic to dogs or cats, be aware that there was a dog in the kitchen while the food was being prepared. Despite mentioning these issues, we had to wait over an hour for the pasta to be cooked. Nothing was taken off our bill, and only a free limoncello was offered. The view was alright though..

08/08/2024: Reasonably priced sunbeds and umbrella, nice beach. Helpful owner, although we missed lunch he offered us snack alternatives.
