03/11/2024: The ice cream is just average (except for the sorbet varieties, which cost 4 euros). We ate much better ice cream in Diamante. The staff is nice, but communication is difficult due to a lack of language skills. In a tourist place you should know at least a few English words, or you should also have an English description available for sweets that you don't otherwise know.

Uno de los vendedores (altura media, gordito, ropa sucia con rizos negros grasosos, es muy antipático y hace que las porciones de helado sean muy pequeñas. Para que este café helado sea el más caro de scalea. ) Debido a esto, este café helado no es recomendable.

21/12/2024: The Roman pinsa is excellent....light, digestible, very tasty in an infinite variety of flavours....not to mention everything else: excellent side dishes, delicious first and second courses...very high quality food. Staff and owner always very kind. I highly recommend it.

01/01/2025: Let me start by saying that my wife, daughter and I went during the Christmas period (low season) and the waiting times were very short. The place is quite nice, clean and welcoming. The cook, the owner's sister, knows her stuff in the kitchen. The dishes are very good, the fish is very fresh and caught in the area, balanced flavours, local and genuine products, even home-grown. The only sore point is the absence of a menu indicating prices, allergens, etc. The cook listed the dishes for us and we ordered without knowing the prices, which in fact turned out to be a little high (for example, a simple but delicious dish of spaghetti with clams costing 25 euros). However, overall positive experience.
27/12/2024: We came to Diamante for a walk and with my husband, we decided to eat at this restaurant! Very good food, clean environment and friendly staff. Thank you Mrs Giulia and Mr Alfonso who showed us the beautiful history of these places.

03/11/2024: Simple no fuss Sicilian joint with inside and outdoor seating. I had really tasty mortadella pinsa (Roman cousin/ancestor of pizza) and salted cod ravioli with pumpkin sauce and calamari. Great wine “Norma”, very good bread, good service

27/11/2024: Just 8 km from DOMUS CEDRI apartment, the Antica Trattoria A' Taverna in Scalea Vecchia offers an authentic experience rich in typical Calabrian flavours. Located in the heart of the historic village, the suggestive and ancient-style location gives the impression of a dive into the past, among characteristic alleys and a unique atmosphere.
The cuisine, simple but excellent, stands out for freshly prepared genuine dishes, such as fusilli with goat sauce and spaghetti with anchovies, both of superior quality. The portions are generous, the starters rich and the prices honest. The staff, kind and welcoming, contribute to making the experience special.
To reach the restaurant, it is advisable to wear comfortable shoes and enjoy a walk among the stairways and alleys of the historic center. An unmissable stop for those who want to savor the real Calabria in an atmosphere of times gone by! Reservations are recommended.

Tutti i piatti sono fatti sul momento e richiedono un minimo di attesa. Serviti con grande cura e qualità eccezionale. Locale di design con attenzione e dettagli, molto pulito e il personale gentile ed accogliente.
Come già detto ogni piatto era fantastico ma ci sentiamo di consigliarvi vivamente l’uramaki California con gambero e salsa tonnata e il Katsu Sando.
Ottima esperienza, torneremo sicuramente.
07/08/2024: We ate for two, took 2 portions of sushi of 8 pieces each, 2 portions of mochi of 2 pieces, a bottle of water and a glass of wine.
Paid 39 euros.
Everything was delicious and Renato was kind and helpful. Good value for money. The only thing that left me a little perplexed was the price of the mochi (€5 per portion), I don't know how complicated it is to make but, in my opinion, a little expensive! and the fact that they charge €2 per bottle for "bulk" water (purified tap water). However I recommend it!

13/12/2024: Outrageously expensive and inedible food.
The service is offered by underpaid guys who don't understand Italian. If only two missing/wrong dishes out of 10 arrive at the table, it is a good result.
The order is placed by the owner who doesn't even know how to mark the dishes and he decides half of them.
Our table had overpriced bottles of wine marked which never arrived.
The icing on the cake are the bathrooms. You would expect something decent from such a location. Instead there are two chemical toilets before the entrance.
To say the experience sucked is an understatement

28/08/2024: I have had a home in Scalea for years and I have frequented almost all the places including the sweet island, which is a historic place in Scalea with beautiful, well-kept furnishings and offers an excellent breakfast, good coffee, homemade ice cream, cocktails etc... kind and competent staff to recommend.

02/11/2024: Quality, experience, kindness. These are the first three things that come to mind when I think of “Il Corsaro”.
Goodness, gluttony, top quality ingredients and a fabulous pizza. This is what I think when hunger pangs strike. And the only one capable of satisfying all this is - and will be - the "Il Corsaro" restaurant/pizzeria.

14/12/2024: Appena varcata la soglia del locale, incastonato nel centro storico di scalea, sono stato pervaso da un mix di emozioni che trasudano tradizione ed innovazione.Siamo stati accolti dalla gentilissima e solare Alessandra, la stessa ci consigliava un menù che ci ha fatto immergere in un turpinio di sapori e ricordi.Lo schef ha saputo esaltare la regalità degli scampi freschissimi con un retrogusto di cedro, il tonno al cacao, pur attenendosi ad una ricetta prettamente locale, richiamaca dei sapori mediorientali.Cosa dire del polipo alla Luciana che da un buon campano mi ha ricordato mia mamma e le sue squisitezze.Infine il tiramisù, è stato qualcosa che nella sua semplicità una delizia per il palato, per non parlare dell'abbinamento con il passito di pantelleria che mi ha accarezzato come un caldo vento siciliano.Esperienza da condividere per chiunque si trovi a psaare da queste parti.
07/12/2024: Scalea d'inverno si svuota, molti locali ed hotel chiudono, ma il delizioso ristorante Tari resiste per la fortuna del viaggiatore fuori stagione. Interni molto curati, servizio accogliente ed attento, una cucina di alto livello, una buona cantina locale. Ottima l'insalata di baccalà, ottimo il millefoglie di verdure, così come i paccheri all'astice. Nessun ombra, tutto perfetto. Costi proporzionati alla qualità.
