07/08/2026: The place is charming, so it's best to book to avoid standing around. Moving on to the food, the house antipasto was delicious. We ordered spaghetti aglio olio with anchovies and bread. I expected much more, having already had it elsewhere. The gnocchi with fresh Calabrian sausage, which we were disappointed with, were also disappointing. Finally, we ordered a Calabrian salad whose star was supposed to be Tropea onion, an ingredient we'd seen through binoculars. It turned out to be a fairly standard tomato and basil salad. The real sore point is the service. The wait was incredibly long, over 30 minutes for the starters and the same for the salads. You order drinks, but after 10 minutes, it's better to ask. In short, a mixed experience that starts with a Wow! when you arrive and becomes Normal when you leave.

06/08/2026: I'm truly sorry to have to write this new review, but if I don't, I won't sleep tonight. We came to your place three years ago and had a wonderful time. I think it's one of the best places I've ever eaten. For various reasons: the location, the extremely kind staff, and the truly good food. We left a generous tip for the man who served us because he was so kind. This place has remained in our hearts, and after three years, we decided to return to the area on vacation and stop by your place first for dinner (we live in the province of Venice). When we visited you three years ago, we gave you a five-star review because we were truly happy with the experience. I've thought about this place many times. Unfortunately, tonight was a terrible evening. We booked for 9:00 PM, arrived early at 8:45 PM, and you let us sit because there were free tables. Very uncomfortable seating, with a low wall as a seat and another chair attached to the steps, leaving no way to stretch out your legs. But that's okay, because eating in the middle of an alley involves this, too, and in fact I didn't say anything. The table wasn't even set for us, and we found four glasses, various cutlery, and napkins in a basket. We set our own table and gave you the change back. Very slowly (unnecessarily because there were too few people for the waiters on duty), we drank and ate from a platter shared between two of us. It was 10:40 PM and we were still waiting for the first courses. I asked for information several times, but it was very vague, you didn't apologize for anything, and we still waited for no reason. We asked for another half liter of wine, and the measuring carafe was handed to us with noticeably less wine. I asked for a refill, you apologized and took care of it, and I thank you for that. But guys, don't clear the table, don't ask what we'd like. We call you to order, and we ask you to get food. I got up and wanted to pay to leave after the appetizer because I can't stay with you for three hours for a dinner that was supposed to include an appetizer and two first courses. You don't treat customers like that, as if you were doing me a favor. In that situation, when I wanted to pay at the cashier, you told me the first courses were coming out, so I went back to the table. Let me start by saying that the food was very, very good; my only complaint is the service. After eating the first courses, we stayed at the table for a while, and you didn't bother clearing the table (like after the appetizers), and you didn't ask if we wanted dessert, coffee, or whatever. Our table didn't exist. We got up to pay and left. We spent hours waiting for, I repeat, an appetizer we shared with two and two first courses. The food-price ratio was excellent, and I'll specify that. But you lost two customers who would have returned over the years and would have recommended your restaurant to many friends if they came to your area for vacation. Unfortunately, other tables also received the same treatment. I feel sorry for the table next to ours, a foreign couple who didn't come to complain and waited even longer. I was truly shocked. We came back 15 minutes later, and you still had to clear our table. The girl downstairs is right; the stray cats paid more attention to us.

13/06/2026: The menu is varied, the food is excellent, and the food is prepared in an unconventional way. The staff is exquisite and attentive. We'll definitely be back.

02/06/2026: During a visit to Scalea, we stopped at the L'Ancora beach restaurant. I tried a first course, paccheri with shrimp and pistachios, which was truly excellent. The fried calamari, however, wasn't particularly satisfying. The staff was very attentive, friendly, and quick with their service. The prices were fair, in line with the quality offered and the sea-view location. Overall, a positive experience.

21/05/2026: We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The owner was exceptionally friendly, polite, and always helpful. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome and very well looked after. The room was clean, comfortable, and prepared with great attention to detail. The atmosphere in the hotel was quiet and pleasant. Such warm and welcoming service is rare. We would love to return and wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.
