09/08/2024: Very nice place and super friendly staff, we were welcomed even though we were a little out of hours and with three dogs. Super helpful staff and delicious, plentiful dishes and exquisite wine. If we were to pass through Assisi again, we will definitely return. Super recommended!

23/08/2024: I piatti del menù degustazione non soddisfano nelle quantità né tantomeno nei sapori, la sala non era climatizzata adeguatamente, vino buono ma servizio con poco personale.
17/08/2024: Appena si entra in questo ristorante, segnalato Michelin, si rimane affascinati dalla vista superba che offre la veranda, una vista magnifica su Assisi e sulla vallata, ma subito dopo si è pienamente coinvolti dalla cortesia, gentilezza e disponibilità che lo staff esprime nell'accoglienza. Tavoli molto belli ed innovativi, privi di tovagliato, scelta ben fatta e condivisibile per evitare di nascondere una "chicca" e cioè il piano dei tavoli è in resina trasparente che contiene delle belle foglie di ulivo (evidente il richiamo al nome del locale). Il menù propone dei piatti della cultura gastronomica territoriale valorizzati dall'innovazione e dalla eccellente tecnica ben evidente. La nostra scelta è ricaduta sulla battuta di manzo, perfetta e gustosissima, come eccezionali sono state le animelle di agnello..... mai mangiate così buone..... di poi da assaggiare il risotto con orecchia di maiale e polvere di limone bruciato..... mantecato senza burro ma con olio..... perfetto nel sapore e nell'equilibrio e nel proporre in maniera encomiabile l'orecchia del maiale..... prodotto non facile, all'interno di un risotto per dare la giusta croccantezza nella masticazione.... ottimo davvero!!! Lo stesso dicasi dei bottoni con il ripieno di anatra, mantecati con arancia e fondo dell'anatra, e crema di aglio nero e finocchietto..... un vulcano si sapori travolgente! Ma al primo posto non ho dubbi nel segnalare sua maestà "il piccione" ! Cotto alla brace in maniera perfetta, servito con la bieta glassata..... il piccione è uno dei pennuti non facile da cucinare, molto rischioso, ma quel petto del piccione cotto alla brace ha evidenziato la tecnica perfetta di cottura e la capacità di saper esaltare un prodotto non facile. Aggiungo poi, che lo chef ha voluto omaggiarmi di un ulteriore elemento a conclusione del percorso del piccione, offrendo dei fusilloni cotti perfettamente conditi con la riduzione della sugo ottenuto dalla carcassa del piccione.... sublimi!!! Una ulteriore emozione per la quale sono doverosi e sentiti i ringraziamenti allo chef. Il pranzo si è concluso con un dessert di creme brulè alla vaniglia con gelato al pop corn e mango acido.... degna conclusione di un ottimo pasto! La cantina è a dir poco sbalorditiva.....viene fornito un "tomo" nel quale sono indicate tutte le etichette, italiane ed estere, tutte di alto livello. E' stata un'esperienza assolutamente positiva, stesso giudizio per il rapporto qualità/prezzo. Consigliatissimo!!!

24/08/2024: It is not the first time we have been to this place, attracted by the homely atmosphere and the 'home' cuisine. We found it by chance and will return with pleasure.
Since it is a butcher's shop with 0 km products, the food is always fresh and the menu can vary during the day.
We tasted a bit of everything, from cured meats and cheeses to meat and vegetables, as well as the famous tart with the typical house ricotta.

03/08/2024: Had dinner now, salt focaccia with salmon and spinach, steak with potatoes and vegetables, two pizzas all excellent, very good beer, very nice and characteristic place. Very kind staff. More than honest bill less than 50 euros including drinks. To try.
24/07/2024: After a tip from Eva's mother, we go to Otello for a great pizza. Very crispy and great taste. I also added my egg to the pizza and it was delicious. Not yet discovered by the crowd, but deserves all the attention of lovers of a tasty and well-baked pizza.

02/09/2024: I believe the negative reviews, in this case, are because we were looking for something different, we went to the wrong place.
if you are looking for molecular cuisine this is certainly not the right place for you, well made grandma's kitchen style recipes.
If you are looking for Neapolitan pizza it is certainly not the right place for you, the square is very thin and very light, you can get 2 each, also because the prices are below average.
For the restaurant it is in a historic building so it is well kept.
The staff are polite and they should
be sufficient. I don't understand why people expect those who work in contact with the public to roll out red carpets otherwise they turn out to be ungrateful workers.
Found and booked with thefork, discount regularly applied.

It's right to make money but so is making fun of others!
09/08/2024: We came in for lunch, us parents with 2 children (3 and 6 years old), and we were welcomed as if we were at home: two very young Umbrian boys, from Assisi, passionate about the place and happy to answer all our questions.
We had lunch in a real pork butchery: a stuffed testo cake and stuffed sliced bread, with strictly local caciotta and cured meats and a cutting board that was out of the world of taste!
For beers, at least another 30 lines should be written: the choice is fantastic, all local products that escape large-scale distribution; I asked the girl (whose name I regret not having asked, maybe Chiara?) for a red beer that wasn't too bitter, and on the table I found one of the best red beers I've ever drunk (Brirrificio Forte Braccio, so much so that I bought 3 bottles to take home).
If you pass by there, take a tour of this place, you will be enraptured by the simplicity of the authentic taste of the local products!
Thanks to the two guys who welcomed us, put up with our two children and directed us to "strategic" destinations in the surrounding area for the rest of the day!
Good luck with this simple but fantastic activity! If we return to Assisi, we will certainly be your guests again!

04/08/2024: Extremely rude waiters, considering I saw one eat a french fry from a table's order before going to deliver them. Terrible service, extremely rude and yell, without considering too high prices and an endless wait for two coffees
27/07/2024: Rude staff, alcoholic drinks served with barely any alcohol.
We had 3 drinks including 2 hugos and a pineapple malibu. We soon realize that the malibu was just juice without the malibu and the Hugo spritz was water and lime. We asked the staff about it, the owner responded rudely by telling us that we shouldn't say bullshit because there was alcohol, I tried to calm him down because I was calm but he continued to respond. I end my speech by saying that it was a simple observation and he replies “so what do we want to do? you made the observation well enough what do you want?” In a grumpy way. In the end he gives us a €1 discount, wow so thoughtful! She didn't want to admit that they were made without alcohol, also because my friend had come in earlier and was told that the malibu was out of stock, so how did they make a Malibu without malibu?

22/07/2024: We ordered two pizzas and two pasta dishes. The pizzas were small and worse than your average frozen pizza. Definitely several days old and heated in a microwave. The pasta was not that bad, but also small, and way too expensive. On top of that, the place is also ugly and the service is bad. The waiters didn't talk to each other at all, so when the food was ready it just stood and got cold until someone noticed it. Worst experience I have had in Italy. I'd rather go home hungry than support such a bad place.

23/08/2024: Lunga la via principale attira l’attenzione per i cannoli fatti in svariati modi. Ho preso un caffè e un cannolo alla modica cifra di 5 € per il cannolo pessimo davvero di qualità bassissima e 1,50 € per il caffè preso al banco , ho assistito alla scena dell’avida proprietaria che infieriva su un cliente che si era alzato dal tavolo per una bottiglietta di acqua pagandola direttamente alla cassa 1,50€ anziché 2,50€ al tavolo , assurdo una figura meschina EVITATELO
23/08/2024: Esperienza pessima! Si è abbagliati dalla vetrina del locale estremamente curata ed invitante ma che non rispecchia assolutamente la qualità dei prodotti.
Abbiamo consumato ( al banco, doverosa precisazione ,in quanto la consumazione al tavolo implica una notevole maggiorazione) un cannolo al pistacchio insapore e 2 caffè per la " modica" cifra ( si fa per dire ) di 6,50 euro.
Sgradevole il " siparietto " al quale ci siamo ritrovati a dover assistere ,le proprietarie del locale iniziano una discussione con una giovane famiglia ,i quali hanno acquistato una bottiglietta d'acqua per il bambino piccolo e gliel'hanno fatta consumare al tavolo senza pagare la maggiorazione di euro 2,50 .
Una discussione infinita e inutile per una cifra veramente irrisoria che ha peggiorato ulteriormente la nostra esperienza in questo locale.

05/08/2024: We ended up in Santa Maria degli Angeli during our visit to Assisi: we had breakfast in this small but welcoming bar. The bartender, a very kind and helpful person, was the most pleasant and fortunate of the discoveries made: capable of recommending the best way to visit the surroundings, he is also an engaging history enthusiast. A rare gift, an exquisite person and the first city encounter that every tourist would like.
