24/11/2024: Restaurant located in an alley of the town, found by chance while we were walking we stopped for lunch. The prices are modest and the dishes are excellent and plentiful, only the service left something to be desired due to the disinterest of the waiters

24/08/2024: It is not the first time we have been to this place, attracted by the homely atmosphere and the 'home' cuisine. We found it by chance and will return with pleasure. Since it is a butcher's shop with 0 km products, the food is always fresh and the menu can vary during the day. We tasted a bit of everything, from cured meats and cheeses to meat and vegetables, as well as the famous tart with the typical house ricotta.

23/08/2024: I piatti del menù degustazione non soddisfano nelle quantità né tantomeno nei sapori, la sala non era climatizzata adeguatamente, vino buono ma servizio con poco personale.

17/08/2024: Appena si entra in questo ristorante, segnalato Michelin, si rimane affascinati dalla vista superba che offre la veranda, una vista magnifica su Assisi e sulla vallata, ma subito dopo si è pienamente coinvolti dalla cortesia, gentilezza e disponibilità che lo staff esprime nell'accoglienza. Tavoli molto belli ed innovativi, privi di tovagliato, scelta ben fatta e condivisibile per evitare di nascondere una "chicca" e cioè il piano dei tavoli è in resina trasparente che contiene delle belle foglie di ulivo (evidente il richiamo al nome del locale). Il menù propone dei piatti della cultura gastronomica territoriale valorizzati dall'innovazione e dalla eccellente tecnica ben evidente. La nostra scelta è ricaduta sulla battuta di manzo, perfetta e gustosissima, come eccezionali sono state le animelle di agnello..... mai mangiate così buone..... di poi da assaggiare il risotto con orecchia di maiale e polvere di limone bruciato..... mantecato senza burro ma con olio..... perfetto nel sapore e nell'equilibrio e nel proporre in maniera encomiabile l'orecchia del maiale..... prodotto non facile, all'interno di un risotto per dare la giusta croccantezza nella masticazione.... ottimo davvero!!! Lo stesso dicasi dei bottoni con il ripieno di anatra, mantecati con arancia e fondo dell'anatra, e crema di aglio nero e finocchietto..... un vulcano si sapori travolgente! Ma al primo posto non ho dubbi nel segnalare sua maestà "il piccione" ! Cotto alla brace in maniera perfetta, servito con la bieta glassata..... il piccione è uno dei pennuti non facile da cucinare, molto rischioso, ma quel petto del piccione cotto alla brace ha evidenziato la tecnica perfetta di cottura e la capacità di saper esaltare un prodotto non facile. Aggiungo poi, che lo chef ha voluto omaggiarmi di un ulteriore elemento a conclusione del percorso del piccione, offrendo dei fusilloni cotti perfettamente conditi con la riduzione della sugo ottenuto dalla carcassa del piccione.... sublimi!!! Una ulteriore emozione per la quale sono doverosi e sentiti i ringraziamenti allo chef. Il pranzo si è concluso con un dessert di creme brulè alla vaniglia con gelato al pop corn e mango acido.... degna conclusione di un ottimo pasto! La cantina è a dir poco sbalorditiva.....viene fornito un "tomo" nel quale sono indicate tutte le etichette, italiane ed estere, tutte di alto livello. E' stata un'esperienza assolutamente positiva, stesso giudizio per il rapporto qualità/prezzo. Consigliatissimo!!!

17/09/2024: Lunch in a group during the visit to Assisi. I would say that unfortunately we are not there. And it's not just about me, but in general it was the opinion of those who were with me, at least at my table. The welcome was friendly and we even got off to a good start, to be honest, with an excellent typical appetizer of cold cuts and cheeses (which is what saved the day). But then the negative notes gradually began: first of all, always served among the last with the others at the table eating in the meantime (step by step, it's not a problem...the last ones will be the first). Then a hypothetical amatricana with sauce thrown in and some grated - let's say - pecorino... a more refined presentation wouldn't have been bad. For the second course all the meats (sausage and so on) were stringy, for dessert a clearly freeze-dried panna cotta. Serious, very serious in my opinion, not having put a piece of bread on the table or a shred of breadstick or similar, as well as never having been interested in whether there was no water. At other tables they brought them on request and steps for water. No bread... you don't need to ask. A piece each or a basket is obvious, dammit! Then the final treat... the coffee. At the counter (was bringing it to the table too much to ask?), cups placed there without even the saucer, the teaspoon, thank God, was there, but for a simple request for sugar they placed the teabag holder there with a clearly annoyed look. Now...I understand that Assisi is a tourist city and tourists often just let them eat and don't pay attention to the details...Maybe we had the wrong day or table...I saw from the signs outside the Pizzeria and that's it...maybe the pizzas will be better . The fact is that there were many flaws and I repeat, the appetizer saved them, otherwise no one would have taken a star away from them. I see several good reviews and I repeat...I hope it was just a bad day, because otherwise I would advise them to get tested. Too bad...I can't say goodbye, sorry. *Update for the owner: I take note of his clarifications and in any case: 1) the bread you see in the photo could very well be mistaken as part of the appetizer given how measured it is. 2) The guide brought us the extra water at the end, left over from the other tables. 3) The opinion on the courses is subjective and it is possible that it could be different... the amatriciana is something else and the pecorino is much more abundant. 4) Regarding coffee, I take note of the choice to do so. However, I was the last to leave and perhaps she had already left...I was definitely not lying in the chair. And the annoyed gesture was there, otherwise I wouldn't have written it. 5) By sign I mean the one at the entrance to the alley and it was written Pizzeria Otello... I didn't have the opportunity to focus on the rest, given that, as it says, times were tight and in any case I know how to read, otherwise I wouldn't have made that distinction . 6 and last)...here perhaps I agree with you: I don't often go on organized tours, it's true, I prefer to make do on my own, which is in any case an exclusively mine choice and doesn't concern you. But one thing is certain: in other places where we ate during the same tour they treated us much better and without being so measured both in terms of time and quantity. Then I agree that each agency has its own needs and it is difficult to reconcile everyone's. All for the sake of fairness. I have more than three hundred reviews behind me as you can see... and if I have to highlight something negative I'm the first to regret it, believe me.
