21/10/2025: We had lunch at this Osteria on a Sunday in October. It's a secluded and welcoming place, the staff are polite and professional, and the food is very good. We ordered a fish parmigiana, which was good but a bit bland. We followed it with a baked grouper with citrus fruits and spinach, which was very good. It's a shame the spinach wasn't enough, and they didn't provide us with the weight of the grouper, which, given that it was fresh and weighed, should have been provided.
The only downside is the excessively high bill: €90 per kilo for the fish and €20 for a glass of wine seems excessive to me.
20/10/2025: The service was genuine and warm, and they weren’t pushy to upsell. I appreciated their clear explanation of the catch of the day, including the offer to have the fish prepared in two ways: Sicilian capers and sultana stew, and homemade breadcrumbs. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked. Kudos to the service team and chef!

08/11/2025: Using a hockey expression, this restaurant delivered an amazing Hat Trick. The service, presentation and taste were absolutely fantastic. We started with the tuna tatare. Then followed that with the catch of the day cooked Siciliano style.We couldn’t leave without trying the Homemade PannaCotta. This has to have been one of the best fish restaurant I have tried in a very long time. Thank you Salvatore!

07/12/2025: Today, December 7, 2025, my mom and I went to this place for lunch, which we found by chance on the outdoor terrace. The staff were wonderfully welcoming, and I'd say it was excellent value for money.
We ordered two first courses and an appetizer, which were truly excellent. Nothing to complain about. They also offered us bruschetta with exceptional olive oil.
The dishes were super generous and not loaded with oil or salt (which I prefer, since I was afraid my first course, with the sardine, would be too salty).
The octopus was tender and still warm, and with the contrasting freshness of the arugula and tomato, it was superb.
In short, needless to say, I would recommend it to anyone spending a day in the beautiful Taormina.
28/11/2025: Wonderful family run establishment in the heart of Corso Umberto! Walk in with family of 5 but they accommodated us no problem. Service was excellent and food was delicious! My pasta was to die for…portions are great and we all left happy and full! Grazie Team Gambero Rosso!

13/11/2025: Granduca in Taormina is one of those restaurants that instantly makes you feel like you’re in the heart of authentic Italian and Sicilian culture. From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere stood out. The décor, the lighting, and the overall vibe create a very cozy environment that feels both welcoming and lively. If you’re lucky enough to get a seat on the balcony, the view is truly beautiful and adds an extra layer of charm to the whole dining experience.
One of the things we loved most about Granduca is the strong Italian character of the place, especially with the traditional Italian pizza oven on display. It gives the restaurant a genuine, local touch and brings an element of tradition that you don’t find everywhere. It also sets the tone for the food quality, which did not disappoint.
The menu offers a very good variety of classic Italian and Sicilian dishes, along with an excellent selection of drinks. We tried a couple of different pastas and pizzas, and everything we ordered was delicious. The flavours were well balanced, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the portions were satisfying without being overwhelming. It’s the kind of food that truly reflects the region’s culinary pride.
Customer service was fair and generally pleasant, though there is room for improvement. Staff were polite and helpful, but service could be a bit more attentive considering how busy the restaurant gets.
Overall, Granduca is a great choice in Taormina if you’re looking for excellent food, a warm atmosphere, and a wonderful Italian dining experience. We enjoyed our visit and would definitely return.

Shelter Ristorante and Pizzeria

09/11/2025: We’ve been all around Italy and have never had a bad meal until tonight. Terrible pizza, tasteless crust and toppings. Had the Seabass supposedly encrusted with almonds….. horrible as well. I saw someone at another table barely eat their pizza as well. Don’t go here.
07/11/2025: We had our first lunch of our 2 week Italy trip here. We loved the Margherita and pesto pizzas. My husband also got the gnocchi, which he loved. Cute outdoor spot for lunch, would recommend.
