22/08/2024: If you are looking for a wine bar with a large selection of wines, unfortunately this is not the place. The wine list is non-existent and in any case not very interesting, with a limited choice of local labels and no international ones. The quality of the service leaves something to be desired: the staff is poorly trained, even mistaking the charmat method for the classic one, and seems unspecialized in providing advice or suggestions, which is what one would expect in a wine establishment. The atmosphere of the place is equally disappointing. The environment is cold and impersonal, with furnishings that seem more suited to an ordinary bar rather than a place to relax and enjoy a good glass. On August 21st and in the middle of the summer season, such a limited cellar and low-end labels is not acceptable. A positive note is the location which is very central and in a lively and colorful street. In conclusion, it does not meet the expectations of those looking for a quality wine experience, neither in terms of offer, nor service, nor atmosphere.

25/01/2025: This restaurant was a pleasant surprise on a day in December 2024 when we decided to have lunch outside by chance. The food is excellent, the fish very fresh and it is all cooked really well with a "homemade hand" and therefore very natural and of high quality. But the real "Plus" of the place is the welcome and the service and above all the Magnifico Piero, an expert prompter and salesman. We returned today, January 25th and I confirm: exceptional quality and superior to many renowned fish restaurants on the Savelletri Torre Canne seafront. Ad maiora and always keep it that way!

16/04/2025: Rude staff, they wanted us to sit down for a coffee (the bar was half empty) and told us we couldn't because we had to book the table online...it's a shame that in such beautiful places there are people like this. Tourists are people, they are not ignorant like others..

26/12/2024: Siamo clienti di questo locale giá da diverso tempo.Ed ogni volta che ci torniamo troviamo sempre la qualità ottima del prodotto e la sapienza con cui è lavorato e proposto.Fatevi consigliare dal titolare o dai suoi dipendenti tra l'altro gentilissimi perché sanno come poter esaltare quello che ti proporranno.Logicamente è un vero e puro ristorante di pesce.Se vuoi sentire il vero sapore del mare in un ambiente tipico nel cuore del centro storico di Gallipoli siete nel posto giusto.Lo consigliamo vivamente.

19/09/2024: In summer "il Vecchio e il Mare" becomes the final location in Trani where you can end the evening or even more so where you can experience the beginning of the disco night. That it isn't a dance floor can be seen from afar. So the music floats, but no one dances. The location would be beautiful if it were instead dedicated to intimate or business dinners, as the layout of the tables, tables and stools is well thought out. How soft and trendy is the lighting of the place. In reality there is already a restaurant just a stone's throw away, of the same name and expensive. This then becomes the place for young people, for those who always follow the trend of the moment, a place where they can meet, "pose", where they can "be there just to appear", where they wait to enter even for two hours (sic!) standing, on the initial part of the eastern pier of the port. To then sit at the first free tables. Nothing to complain about the place, with the sea on the side crashing on the cliff and it's all an excellent view. But it is the intended use that is perhaps not appropriate. All personal opinion

10/04/2025: Very nice restaurant and employees. They were accommodating to a vegetarian and the appetizer and dinner was wonderful.

30/03/2025: Excellent Sunday lunch, the spaghetti with clams was creamy and tasty, the bruschetta with marinated anchovies was delicious. Even the tasty crispy frying was really excellent. Very fair prices too. We will happily return.
