20/02/2026: The soup was good, peppery with small mussels, despite the large shells and the edges not removed. The service was terrible; I asked for a dessert with dark chocolate and they brought me a terrible profiterole with milk chocolate and cream.

23/02/2026: Finally, a hotel like it used to be, tailored to the average citizen, who wants to enjoy a few days' vacation with all the necessary amenities without being overcharged, free from the speculative logic of the uncontrolled and opaque market of B&Bs and the like. Nice, comfortable, and well-maintained rooms, with wooden furniture and no damp in the bathrooms, a safe, refrigerator, state-of-the-art TV, Wi-Fi, lotions, shampoo, hairdryer, and shower gel. Friendly and helpful staff, restaurant and breakfast. Truly competitive prices for the service provided. The icing on the cake, demonstrating the care and innovation of the management, is a hotel parking lot dedicated to charging electric cars. It's still hopeful to find professionals, now few and far between, who focus first and foremost on customer service. I'll be back.

When in Sulmona, it's a must-visit: it's always a pleasure to return! The cuisine is refined and full of time-honored flavors and aromas; it's a shame it's closed for dinner. Reservations are recommended.

03/01/2026: I don't what to say...Im American, and a Texan...a bit of a beef snob😜 ive traveled all over Europe and gave up trying hamburgers at places. I eat various meals at different price points but sometimes just have a need for a cheeseburger... but gave up trying in Europe in general. But ive come to Max's several times, the service is excellent and the food has always been very good, so I said I will go ahead and try a smash burger on the menu. Omg...sooooooo good!!!!!! You will not be disappointed 😉😘 best cheeseburger in Europe💯

09/02/2026: Arrogance, presumption, arrogance, rudeness, disorganization (we had even booked), no menu, exorbitant prices and tiny portions (over 40 euros per person and we were left hungry), food quality below average, it's a shame because years ago it was a restaurant with balls but today it is absolutely to be avoided.

01/02/2026: I don't know what's worse, the rudeness of the staff or what they dish out on your plate, but it's hair-raising stuff. The appetizers and first courses aren't great, but the lamb and arrosticini are absolutely inedible. The house wine is awful. It's worth noting that the prices are also high for a city like Teramo.

19/03/2026: We went today because the cable car to Gran Sasso was closed due to bad weather. Santo Stefano di Sessanio was one of the places we wanted to visit, and this wonderful "grotto" with tastings of typical products really made up for the cable car disappointment. It was a delightful and delicious discovery! Thank you so much for creating a piece of paradise within paradise! 🩷
