I've known this place for years, but had never been there.
Until last week.
Now I'm kicking myself for not having been there sooner.
Fantastic location, great service, and excellent food.
We'll be back.
01/06/2025: A wonderful restaurant in a unique location. A great atmosphere right on the river. A very extensive menu, sure to please everyone. Excellent quality. A generous staff who are very friendly and accommodating. I hope to come back here soon.

09/06/2025: We had the pleasure of having lunch at this excellent refuge that offers dishes that are anything but predictable: excellent menu, prepared and smiling staff, impeccable service and a super welcoming atmosphere. After 300 km on a Vespa it was a nice surprise. Highly recommended.

09/05/2025: A refined restaurant in the hills of the Friulian hills, immersed in a splendid landscape of meadows, woods and delicious vineyards; a place where you will be welcomed with kindness and will find genuine food, based on tradition and with great attention to both presentation and preparation. Wine, obviously, exceptional. Highly recommended.
03/05/2025: There are many good restaurants in Friuli, and Al Cjant is certainly one of the best. The Sgubin family ensures a relaxed atmosphere in a great ambience and excellent food with excellent wine accompaniment. Plus good service and fair prices - simply perfect.

03/06/2025: Not an easy place to reach, but Google Maps was helpful, very welcoming, large, bright, well-kept exterior. Traditional wooden furnishings inside. This restaurant was chosen for a social lunch, polite service, present without being intrusive in line with expectations. Excellent food, from the superlative cold cuts, to the delicious first courses and the tasty second course, even the ice cream with berries, of a high standard.

Typical African restaurant with rich, tasty and truly traditional dishes. The staff is friendly and approachable, which makes the experience even more pleasant. Very reasonable prices compared to the quality offered. Excellent quality/price ratio. Recommended!

10/05/2025: Qualità e cottura del cibo Deludenti : antipasto , Baccala mantecatto , di bassissima qualita .primo piatto a base di pesce (Spaghetti alla Scogliera ) dolce e insipido , Fritti misti Intrisi di olio e decomposti, dolci commerciali di basso livello .
Rapporto qualità prezzo : prezzi alti rispetto al valore effettivo .
04/05/2025: Capitati per caso e di passaggio, siamo entrati un po’ titubanti, ed e’ stata una piacevole sorpresa! La semplice verdura grigliata era incredibilmente saporita ed i piatti di pesce ordinati ci hanno lasciato pienamente soddisfatti (antipasti misti di pesce , grigliata di pesce e frittura di pesce). Il prezzo a nostro parere era giusto per la qualità di ciò che abbiamo gustato e per il servizio che ci hanno riservato ( cordiali, attenti ed empatici) . Complimenti ancora ! Torneremo e faremo passa parola

17/05/2025: This place has a truly unnecessary hype. We had two cappuccinos, which were served almost cold, which is never the case in Trieste or in Italy in general. The cappuccinos tasted only of milk. The service was also unpleasantly arrogant. The only nice thing about it is the ambiance.
Children are also not welcome. We constantly receive disparaging looks, even though our child was very quiet.

14/05/2025: Rude staff, poor plastic drink 30 minutes before closing without warning. Umbrella closed almost on my friend's head who had to avoid it because "they had to close".

29/04/2025: Last week, ordered for takeaway: good but quite burnt pizzas. I've been there other times and I can say that the food is good. The service has always seemed very cold and superficial to me but I haven't been there often enough to be able to make an adequate assessment. The environment is very beautiful, well looked after and very elegant, refined and quiet.

09/04/2025: Ho partecipato ad una serata-evento in questo ristorante, con cena tematica regionale e un pubblico molto esigente. Certamente il Savoy Restaurant non ha sfigurato! L'ambiente si presta ad eventi di un certo livello, anche con molte persone. Il contesto è quello dell'hotel Savoia Excelsior Palace, a pochi passi dal lungomare di Trieste.
Classe e raffinatezza; fiori freschi ovunque, anche sul tavolo; sala ampia stupenda, tonalità tenui, finestroni con visuale panoramica sulle Rive triestine; lampadari circolari enormi, piuttosto datati (con un intervento radicale d’ammodernamento, anche l'illuminazione della sala migliorerebbe), così come le appliques e i tendaggi; poltroncine comode in velluto; posateria sostituita continuamente senza chiedere, tovagliato bianco e coperto bellissimo classico chiaro; eleganza nell’impiattamento con fiorellini eduli colorati delicati.
Personale gentile, abbondanza nel rabbocco vini, i camerieri hanno commesso alcune piccole dimenticanze nello sparecchiare ma perdonabili; invece, consiglio al capo cameriere maggiore attenzione nel servizio, dato il continuo spilling di vino sulla tovaglia, inoltre la bottiglia va mostrata ai commensali!
Lo chef Andrea Stoppari non è venuto a salutare il pubblico e questo ci ha un poco deluso. Nonostante ciò, la sua mano in cucina è inconfondibile e ben presente, grande carattere, nessuno sbaglio. Sa modulare da delicatezza a sapidità con eccellenza, sia il pesce che la carne. Creatività, rinnovamento nella tradizione, abbinamenti inusuali. Porzioni giuste, materie prime di alta qualità (presidi Slow Food), cotture azzeccate.
Panini misti e grissini con sesamo, tutto artigianale e fresco, buonissimo, riservito spesso (a ciascun commensale su un piattino separato).
Piatti indimenticabili della cena: bigoli in salsa di sarde e fegato alla veneziana su crema di fagioli. Complimenti!
30/12/2024: Nous avons dîné le premier soir de notre séjour dans l’hôtel. La salle de restaurant est certes magnifique mais les plats proposés le sont moins: le choix est assez restreint. De plus certains desserts sont indigents : par exemple le crumble coco mandarine . Cela est d’autant plus surprenant que les pâtisseries proposées au petit déjeuner sont excellentes et copieuses. Pourquoi donc ne pas les proposer au dîner ?
