30/08/2025: I need to catch up on yet another review that's been lost for some unknown reason, especially here, which is a must-see for anyone who knows and lives in this area. Ponte Milvio used to be three things: the market (first on the left of the square, then where the parking lot is now, and finally indoors where it is today), Pallotta's for pizza at dinner, and Gianfornaio. Period: three pillars. But that was the Gianfornaio located on the square, on the corner of Via Flaminia... where you'd find ladies in fur coats queuing like housewives... one of the best bakeries in the entire capital. Now Gianfornaio is a brand and you can find it in branches just about everywhere, but it's not the same. The quality of the baked goods has remained medium-high, but the selection has obviously expanded in a location that has made nightlife its cornerstone, and competition has multiplied dramatically. This place is a go-to for many offices in the area, and has therefore also specialized in lunch breaks, although it struggles to handle the sometimes very hefty crowds (for example, for SNA courses or other events). Service is fairly quick and friendly (the weak point remains the cash register, but this is a bit of a constant in Rome), the prices are not low but fairly in line with the local area, and the overall experience remains positive, especially the breakfast portion. I'm a bit nostalgic for the original formula and feel that this aperitivo craze has ruined the typical local dining experience, but Gianfornaio—at least this—remains a resource for those who come here. And let's hope it puts a stop to this globalization that has impoverished what may be an ancient but tried-and-tested formula. Need help? 15/11/2025: Terrible. After waiting in line, they seated us at a table in a rather poor location, but it was acceptable given the crowd. They brought us the fixed-price menu and the à la carte menu. My friends and I each chose two dishes from the à la carte menu. When the waitress came to take our order, she told us, rather annoyed and rudely, that we couldn't choose from the à la carte menu because we hadn't booked. Therefore, they only offered the fixed-price menu. We reluctantly agreed: the food they served was truly subpar. Even the strudel was inedible. What bothered us most was that we weren't told right away that we'd be forced to settle for the fixed-price menu. Absolutely a no-go.

09/11/2025: I think I've tried one of the possible candidates for nightmare cuisines. After finding four restaurants fully booked (my fault for not having booked), I enter this trattoria and am welcomed, so I sit down hungry. There are few other diners besides me (four other tables with customers, the rest empty), and this makes me suspicious, but I'm hungry. I choose the menu with house wine. It's best to ignore the wine. As for the second course, I see a complete scam or incompetence on the part of the kitchen. It was supposed to be braised; I'll attach a photo and avoid comments (you be the judge of whether that is braised). The dessert, a strudel, seems like one of those frozen ones reheated in the oven; it's certainly not homemade. But the best part is the smell of cigarette smoke that comes unmistakably from the kitchen. If someone doesn't know how or doesn't want to be a restaurateur, no one forces them to do it this way (smoking while preparing food?). I ate because I was hungry and tired of finding restaurants fully booked, but in any other situation, I would have left the table disgusted. It doesn't take much to understand why there are few customers while other places are fully booked on the weekend.

31/08/2025: Rustic restaurant, live music, and reasonable prices. I've been there several times and have always had a great experience. The waiters are all very friendly and helpful. The pizza is light (I usually don't like pizza, but here it's the opposite). The location is spacious, suitable for both summer and winter, and there's plenty of parking.

05/11/2025: Rude and rude, everyone included, even the security ones, they didn't live up to some regulations... even after paying the entrance fee they forced you to enter only if you put your jacket or a coat in the cloakroom, which there is absolutely no obligation to use, moreover it was not highlighted, an absurd rip-off, in addition to the 20 euro entrance fee they also wanted the two euros for the cloakroom otherwise you were left outside, something never seen before, plus they weren't even aware of some regulations... I speak as a G.P.G. (Armed Security Guard) I have already reported it to the prefecture and the police headquarters!!!

19/10/2025: Unfortunately, my experience at this place was very negative. Last night, I and other Tunisian guys were turned away even though we had reservations. The manager clearly stated that Tunisians aren't allowed because "they always cause problems." This is discriminatory and racist behavior that doesn't reflect the values ​​of respect and equality. It's unacceptable to be judged solely on your nationality.

08/10/2025: The room was like something out of a horror movie, with paintings on the walls (you can expect a demonic possession). I had a room on the 4th floor – with each floor and room, the level of care and attention seemed to diminish. As for the room – the carpeting was unchanged and dirty, and the walls had visible patches in several places. The balcony door was leaky (the balcony itself was very low and dangerous).

08/10/2025: Terrible, the rooms look like a brothel, a massacre, the hallway is like something out of a horror movie, there are fungi on the walls, the toilet is terrible, we have a door in our room that can't be closed and leads to the room of some strangers, the balcony doesn't lock, there are insects flying around, the balcony railing barely reaches your thigh, this hotel is terrible, the only thing is the reception and the dining room are nice, the smooth finish has strange stains and there are very disturbing paintings on the walls, the atmosphere is creepy, the neighborhood is scary, the police are constantly there, it looks like an exorcism is taking place.

12/10/2025: Be careful with the affogato al caffè, which costs 6 euros. A 3.50 cone is better.

15/07/2024: This time I exaggerated, I gave a whole star! The food is less than mediocre, I have no idea what oil they use for cooking, but it is certainly a friend of your cholesterol. The service is worthy of a soup kitchen (sorry for the comparison, but it is certainly better there). The environment is modest, but decorous. The owner is the most rude and rude thing you can imagine, and with your imagination you can't even come close. As for the portions and prices, I'll leave you a surprise if you dare to try it. At the cost of grazing the grass in the meadows I will never go there again.

02/03/2025: During a stay in Claviere around 3 PM, I stumbled upon the restaurant's window and saw a lovely ambiance and tables set. I found the prices displayed a bit steep, but I figured it was worth it. So I visited the restaurant's website, where I was insistently offered to book online. I was persuaded, filled out the form, and submitted it correctly. I received the booking confirmation by email. I showed up at the agreed-upon time and found it closed. I can only add: even leaving aside the laziness and lack of professionalism, why on earth did they leave the tables set?

27/10/2025: Cala Marin Bar was a huge disappointment. It's the bar attached to the lido, so you'd expect slightly higher prices than average, but what's truly disappointing is the poor quality of the food served. The food offering is very limited, and what little there is is sloppily prepared and poorly executed. We tried a few items on the menu, and unfortunately, almost everything was inedible. Dry sandwiches, less-than-fresh ingredients, and no attention to presentation or flavor. Everything seemed prepackaged and hastily reheated, with no regard for the final quality. The price-to-service ratio was simply unacceptable. The only positive exception was the rustico leccese, which at €3 was at least decent compared to the rest. However, one decent item isn't enough to save the overall experience. The service is slow and inattentive, with long waits even when there are no customers. Cala Marin Bar seems to thrive solely on its location, but it's completely lacking in attention and professionalism. I don't recommend it, and I don't think we'll return. There are much better options in the area.

21/09/2025: We visited a beachside bar in Italy as a group of six gay friends, and unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience. When we ordered tequila with salt and lime, the waiter realized we were gay and made a rather offensive remark, saying that “salt and lime is a lady’s thing, not for men.” He then refused to bring the accompaniments we asked for. This kind of attitude is unacceptable and shows a level of prejudice we did not expect to encounter. So here’s a heads-up to other LGBTQIA+ customers looking for a welcoming environment: sadly, this place did not treat us with the respect everyone deserves.

06/11/2025: A truly elegant tobacco shop. Very friendly staff. I'm especially impressed by their coffee cups with Florence on them. Gorgeous.

01/11/2025: It's excellent: fresh, high-quality pastries, delicious coffee, and a pleasant vintage atmosphere perfect for breakfast. Prices are high and the service is efficient, though not particularly friendly. There are a few tables inside and a small terrace. They specialize in biscuits: many varieties are available.
