16/03/2024: Definire questo posto un "ristorante" è un peccato mortale se pensiamo alla cultura culinaria del nostro Paese. Bettola gestita da stranieri, all' apparenza gentili ma invadenti che non hanno fatto altro che mettere fretta ad una tavolata di 10 persone per tutta la cena. Sono venuta in questo posto per un viaggio di piacere insieme alla mia famiglia e non solo la sensazione avuta appena entrata è stata quella di un ambiente sporco ma il cibo non era assolutamente all'altezza delle recensioni che ho letto quando ho scelto questo posto per mangiare. Devo dedurre che non tutti sono abituati al buon cibo. Cena a base di pesce, con "frittura" di calamari arrivata dopo un'ora e mezza, dura, olio usato chissà quante volte e molto probabilmente non erano nemmeno calamari ma totani. Porzioni piccole e pizze surgelate fatte passare come bruschette. Cacciati via dopo un conto non consono alla qualità del cibo proposto. Il mio consiglio è di starne alla larga.

10/03/2024: 5 Min. a piedi dalla stazione. Piatti semplici ma di ottima qualità, molto ben digeribili. Proprietario simpatico e gentile, ci ha offerto 2 limoncelli e regalato una piccola bottiglia di vino. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Da non perdere.

31/12/2023: la sera dell'arrivo abbiamo cenato nel ristorante annesso all'hotel. Ambiente elegante, servizio attento e professionale, pochi commensali nella settimana prima di Natale. Siamo partiti con croccanti scampi "in saor", seguiti dal risotto di go' con finocchio e liquirizia. Preparato con un pesce di laguna, il ghiozzo, ci è piaciuto molto per l'armonico abbinamento con finocchio e liquirizia che l'hanno reso particolarmente appetitoso e soprattutto per la giusta cottura. Abbiamo concluso con un rombo servito con radicchio alla piastra. Nel complesso una buona cena che ha ben inaugurato la parte gastronomica del nostro breve soggiorno.

30/12/2023: A quite underrated restaurant with superb service, excellent food (super fresh seafood), and classy atmosphere. Amazing moscato and I would highly recommend their fish risotto - extremely delicious. The food was fairly priced, restaurant was very clean and everyone there was friendly. Highly recommend and would definitely visit again during my next visit to Venice.

08/11/2023: I regularly visit the beautiful Cipriani for drinks/cocktails in the bar and by the pool almost every night while I’m in Venice and I’ve been to the Cip’s Club restaurant a couple of times, but this was my first time at Oro and was more than pleasantly surprised at how great the cuisine here is. The food served is modern but pays homage to Venice and the lagoon. We had great pasta and risotto naturally, but some other dishes were very interesting, unique and presented beautifully, such as the Venetian mask shaped cracker topped with flowers and there was also a savoury drink for a course that was presented in a glass that looked like a garden. Presentation here is truly top notch. My partner eats meat, but as a vegetarian I didn’t feel left behind whatsoever. One of the greatest pasta dishes I’ve ever eaten was here at Oro, it was a linguine with smoked tomatoes and if I remember I believe it had sultanas and pine nuts also, so it was a pasta reinterpretation of sarde in saor. This dish was equally as good as pasta I’ve had in Le Calandre and Osteria Francescana. This is a must visit restaurant for vegetarians. The wine list is great and we drank a lovely wine of Veneto, which was a Giuseppe Quintarelli Amarone. The décor of the restaurant reminds me of the 50s/60s and the “Dolce Vita” era, which is typical of the whole Cipriani hotel actually. The restaurant also has views of the calm lagoon and across to the Lido. The service was friendly and professional, especially one gentleman stands out who went out his way to chat to us for a while and got us a bag for our finished wine bottle as I like to collect bottles and put them on display. It must be said that I really cannot comprehend the negative reviews for Oro and these must be ignored as I don’t think these people know what they’re talking about. I’ve eaten in one, two and three Michelin star restaurants around the world, including Paris and some of the best in Italy and I can quite confidently say Oro should be at least two Michelin stars. Enoteca Pinchiorri is the worst three Michelin starred restaurant I’ve ever eaten in and Oro is a much better restaurant. I’d recommend taking the complimentary shuttle boat from San Marco to spend an evening eating at Oro and having pre or after dinner drinks in the bar or by the pool listening to the live music and singers. A must visit while in Venice!

20/10/2023: Surprise, en arrivant au restaurant avec la confirmation internet de ma réservation on m’annonce que je ne suis pas sur la liste des réservations !!! Pourtant, elle est bien réelle, avec empreinte de carte bleue et pénalités si jamais je ne me présente pas en temps et en heure !!! On me dit que l’on m’a envoyé un mail d’annulation dont je n’ai pas la trace, sinon je ne me serai pas déplacé… bref, on m’offre une coupe de pétillant pour faire passer la pilule et on me dirige vers l’autre restaurant de l’hôtel. Entre parenthèses à éviter, tarif élevés et pas exceptionnel. Donc expérience très négative, nous avons été très déçu, on ne nous a même pas proposé de revenir un autre jour !! Bref , j’ai eu l’impression d’arriver chez Mac do, qui complet m’envoie chez Flunch en face !? Indigne d’un étoilé au Michelin
