We've been coming to Venice and the Lido regularly for six years now, and this restaurant remains our favorite! Everything was perfect: the food, the setting, the warm and professional welcome from the staff (who were clearly overwhelmed by the crowds!), and the sommelier! A charming and vibrant personality!
A must-try!

During my three-night stay in Lido, I dined at this restaurant twice and it never disappointed me.
Thoughtful dishes, high-quality ingredients, and carefully prepared. The wait staff was very polite and welcoming.
A wonderful discovery!
The view of the lagoon is breathtaking (I think the best in the area).
Also highly recommended for an aperitivo with drinks and cicchetti.

I was visiting Venice as a tourist and discovered Essentiale almost by chance: one of the best dinners of my trip.
A beautiful terrace overlooking the lagoon, a relaxed atmosphere, and truly well-crafted dishes. The cuttlefish “cacio e pepe” with squid ink was an incredible surprise, as was the homemade bread. And the tiramisu? The best I’ve ever had in my life.
Honestly, after reading some negative reviews, I was a bit hesitant, but my experience was completely the opposite. If you’re looking for an authentic, refined place with a great view, this restaurant is absolutely worth a visit.

I went to Essentiale with high expectations... and they were surpassed without further ado.
The cuisine has a clear identity, you can taste it right away: few ingredients, well-prepared, with a precise idea behind each dish. You can really feel the craftsmanship; it's not the usual "tourist" fare.
Among the dishes that stick in my mind:
the cuttlefish tagliatelle with cacio e pepe, ink, and chives is incredible—creamy, intense, with that ink that amplifies everything without overpowering it.
It's a dish I'd call brilliant!
The handmade tagliatella with clams was delicious!
The pasta was incredible, with the freshest clams.
You can also sense so much attention to detail: homemade bread (and it shows), and young but attentive service.
This is precisely why I struggle to understand some of the recent negative reviews I read online. In my experience, I found the cuisine to be thoughtful, coherent, and full of personality—which is far from a given, especially in an area so full of similar offerings.
The service was attentive, young, but passionate and friendly.
In my opinion, it's one of those places worth trying for yourself, without being overly influenced.
