01/10/2023: Ci siamo stati oggi a pranzo. I tavoli all'aperto, affacciati sul lago e ben protetti, offrono una sistemazione molto piacevole. La cucina però dovrebbe essere molto più attenta. Intanto il cameriere non dovrebbe andare in crisi se per la bimba chiedi della pasta corta con un po' di pomodoro, tant'è che alla fine abbiamo dirottato sugli spaghetti. Poi, se prendi come antipasto del vitello tonnato o dei tacos, ragazzi! meno quantita, è un antipasto, più qualità, più verve, lascia perdere il piattazzo! Ma soprattutto è inaccettabile, da qui il giudizio negativo, che un risotto con persico arrivi: non insipido o un po' salato (può capitare), ma decisamente e fastidiosamente salato; il riso indietro di cottura; il pesce in compenso stracotto, anche se in quantità generosa pur se letteralmente mescolato ad una quantità eccessiva e sproporzionata di riso, quest'ultimo almeno un terzo in più del necessario e che infatti è rimasto nel piatto. Allora, un infortunio culinario o una certa disinvoltura in cucina, possono sempre capitare; ma quando superano un certo livello, qualche interrogativo te lo poni, soprattutto per il futuro.

We had a friendly welcome from the manager / owner who sat us a lovely table overlooking the lake , menus arrived then our drinks order taken
When he came to take our food we ordered two portions of bruschetta to which he said we only need one as there were four pieces many places would of just taken the order to make a bit of extra money.
Meals arrived my wife had chicken I had Frito misto it was all really nice
Food , drinks, service and to be honest not that expensive.
So I’m glad we walked away from the other restaurant and walked another 5 minutes along the lake.
Thank you for a very enjoyable meal

21/03/2024: Simple hotel with a very good location in the center and meters from the lake and the pier. A bit far from the train station if you walk. The room was basic and small but clean. It did not have a bidet bathroom. They should improve the heating, the radiator is turned on from time to time and it is not enough and the lighting is poor. Breakfast is traditional Italian: good. The couple that attends are loving and cordial but they should improve these points.

24/10/2023: Sehr geschmackvolle Einrichtung, sehr freundliches Personal. Das Angebot ist gross, zum Teil günstig und sehr gut. Wir empfehlen Chateaubriand (25€), alles mit Lachs, Pizzas. Die Salate sind frisch und selbst zubereitet.

04/10/2023: This was just the best little restaurant in the village and local area. Food was great and we were three vegetarians out of four. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were fabulous. We went there four times in one week. That’s how good it was.

14/10/2023: Well what can one say. It's Baveno Italy. Outside of Milan. The last Hall is the the resteaunt inside the Grand Hotel Dino. For a taste of the old country you've found it here. There's no exaggeration when I say it's the best Italian food on the planet. Nothing like the real thing is the real thing. Food here has ingredients that have no preservatives. What a difference that makes. The only word that comes to mind is succulent!!!! Please give this a try, words do not do justice to this fine dining experience. From the accents, the food, the atmosphere of the real old West from it's origins. That's right. Why do you think they call those movies spaghetti westerns. They understand and helped us to forge our identity. We in the U S. Took it from their play book. They are our brothers and family. Great people these Italians really are.

It's incredible !
We were expecting a quality restaurant but we came across dishes of very poor quality and very poor taste.
A bitter and undercooked endive,
Dry and tasteless perch fillet,
Passable zucchini…

13/02/2024: Ci siamo arrivati x caso scendendo dai monti della Svizzera...ed è stato un Fantastico caso!!...location suggestiva in un antico palazzo affrescato..qualità dei prodotti eccellente per nn parlare dell'impiattamento. Cordialità e gentilezza e attenzione del personale fanno del ristorante Elena un luogo che vale il viaggio a Domodossola.
Ci vediamo presto!

10/09/2023: Scendiamo per la prima volta sulla Isola Madre per pranzare e fare una visita dello splendido orto botanico.
Appena scesi accompagnati da un battello privato, dopo aver riservato un tavolo il giorno precedente, veniamo accolti ed accompagnati al tavolo dal personale. La terrazza è splendida il tavolo proprio rivolto sulle acque del lago.
Il menu è interessante con pietanze sia di pesce che di terra.
Il servizio è rapido e cortese che rende la nostra colazione molto rilassante e ci stimola alla gita nel Orto Botanico ed alla Villa dell’isola Madre.
Abbiamo la fortuna di avere con noi a farci da guida il signor Alfredo da più di 28 anni al servizio della famiglia Borromeo e dei suoli tesori.
Giornata splendida e da consigliare a chi ha voglia di passare una mezza giornata in una delle meraviglie del Lago Maggiore. Per concludere la recensione: antipasto tartare di Branzino ottima ed abbondante, Filetti di Pesce Persico del Lago Maggiore con burro e salvia dorati a puntino con una insalatina verde molto buona. Il vino Chardonnay Trentino Villa Margon Riserva 2020 molto interessante!!
Caffè con biscottini della casa.

10/09/2023: Cibo buono ma il servizio zero mezz'ora x ordinare un ora per antipasto e nn vi dico per il primo. Ci siamo seduti alle 13 e ci siamo alzati alle 16 ci siamo anche arrabbiati perché veramente troppo tempo abbiamo aspettato...cmq solo per questo lo sconsiglio

02/10/2023: Ho soggiornato ultimo week di settembre,nn sapendo che fosse l’ultimo giorno quindi nessun tipo di servizio , e forse x educazione e professionalità sarebbe stato educato comunicarlo. Troppo facile prendere un pernottamento e poi sbattersene del cliente. Ci hanno consigliato di andare a mangiare al bar più vicino,, che dista 500 mt. Pensate il disagio.Professionalità zero! Nn lo consiglio
