30/01/2026: This is a truly charming hotel set in the heart of the renowned Gavi wine region. Perched on a hilltop, the former noble villa has been beautifully transformed into a unique and elegant hotel. Surrounded by a beautiful park with a fountain, outdoor swimming pool, and rolling vineyards, the setting feels both peaceful and timeless.
I have stayed at Relais Villa Pomela several times, in both summer and winter, and it never fails to impress. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with genuinely friendly and attentive service that makes every stay feel special. The hotel’s restaurant serves excellent Italian cuisine, refined yet authentic, and sure to satisfy even the most discerning palates.
Another great advantage is the proximity to the Serravalle Designer Outlet, just a five-minute drive away. For guests who prefer not to deal with parking, the hotel conveniently offers a shuttle service to and from the outlet.
I can highly recommend this hotel and very much look forward to returning again.

Beautiful setting in a small Piedmont village, with attentive and fast service.
We enjoyed an aperitif, two glasses of prosecco, and were served four entrées: a chickpea cone, a savory baba, a blue cheese and hazelnut tart, and tomato chips with fresh cream and anchovies with lemon jelly. Very special. There were several tasting menus available, as well as the à la carte menu. We chose the Territory and Tradition tasting menu for €70 per person.
Typical Monferrato dishes presented with care.
Piedmontese Fassona tartare, rosemary and mustard, smoked egg yolk and shallots, truly excellent.
Traditional plinth, roast gravy and thyme, Piedmontese fillet, celeriac, black cabbage, and Bordeaux sauce.
Everything was delicious.
The pre-dessert, you either love it or hate it, was a very special vinegar sorbet.
The dessert: I'm not...a Bonet! Made with the ingredients of a bunet.
We were served a small pastry along with coffee and four small sweets.
Drinks are not included. Cover charge is €5, 75cl water €4, and we spent €208 for two. Recommended for a special occasion.

Reviews speak of creative, well-structured cuisine featuring traditional Piedmontese dishes revisited with modern touches, thoughtful tastings, and excellent wine pairings. The vegetarian options are also well-received for their emphasis on seasonal ingredients. The setting, housed in a beautifully restored historic villa, is truly evocative, with a frescoed interior and refined atmosphere, perfect for a romantic evening or an important occasion.

08/03/2026: We ended up here by mistake, and luckily for us, on a motorcycle tour in Casale Monferrato.
We hadn't booked and it was packed, but they found us a spot at the counter, which we really enjoyed.
The food was really good, and I noticed they had plenty of options even for me, a vegetarian, especially the main courses, which are rare to find. The crouton with cavolo nero, egg, and cacio e pepe fondue was absolutely delicious. If I'm ever back in the area, I'll definitely be back.

23/02/2026: Soleluna's pizza is a pizza from another era. When you eat it, you can taste the benefits of the long leavening process, the top-quality flours, and Cristian's impeccable handcrafting. These are all aspects that allow you to taste how crispy on the outside and soft on the inside the pizza is. The top-quality ingredients do the rest. I personally had a pizza with spicy salami and gorgonzola (I know... it's not a protected category... but it passed the test with flying colors). The pizza is so good! Excellent beers accompany it, and homemade desserts like meringue, cheesecake, panna cotta, and traditional cakes complete the picture. That's not all: the service is punctual, attentive but never intrusive; Tushal knows how to be discreet and genuinely helpful. The enthusiasm and professionalism of Maria, who welcomed us upon arrival, only makes our return even closer. I can't wait to eat some real pizza again! Thanks to all the staff. See you soon!

08/02/2026: I ate at noon on Thursday, and the pizza was truly delicious. I called to reserve a table for 1:20 PM, since they close at 2 PM.
The owner was very kind.
On Friday, I called back to reserve a table, but they didn't answer. When I arrived at 1:20 PM, they told me they'd closed early and wouldn't let me have lunch. The problem, in my opinion, is that if you close early, you should at least answer the phone so customers don't waste their time.

Eight of us had a menu to choose from.
All the dishes were very good.
The pesto-filled gnocchi remain my favorite.
This is the menu we tried:
Fassona Beef Tartare and Veal with Tuna Sauce
Risotto with Robiola di Roccaverano, Gavi reduction
Beef Cheek Braised in Gavi, Local Mashed Potatoes
Creamy Cream Gelato and its Appetizers
Excellent service, very pleasant atmosphere overlooking the vineyards. Extensive wine list, though missing Franciacorta and Trento DOC.
The only complaint is the length of the lunch. Three hours is too long, in my opinion...

15/03/2026: We dined at this restaurant practically alone, and it was a truly positive experience!
The atmosphere was refined, the staff extremely friendly and happy to delight us with stories about the local cuisine, the dishes made with fresh ingredients, beautifully presented and cooked, and the prices were very reasonable.
Highly recommended if you're in the area; reservations are always recommended!
PS: Don't miss out on a good local Barbera, but also highly recommended for champagne lovers!
29/12/2025: We're getting married in June 2026 and we've chosen Laura for our catering at Uviglie Castle, located near the Champagnerie. Every time we eat at Casa Babette, we're amazed by the fresh, authentic, healthy food, made with local products and breathtaking flavors. The kindness of the staff and their attention to detail, even for those like me who have celiac disease, make this place unique! A beautiful location! Our guests will stay here, and the staff's kindness, helpfulness, and attention to detail will surely make it a magical weekend for all of them! We highly recommend it! Simona and Paolo

Today, his 23-year-old grandson has already designed the winery you're visiting, and he cooks with the energy and cultural clarity of his home, having gained significant experience at the Mudec in Milan, one of Italy's international cultural centers. Lower Monferrato. Varengo, a hamlet of Gabiano. Hillside. A rare example of "family style and culture" that knows how to create refined cuisine. Perfect portions. A small wine cellar, but a place for meditation and a delight for the senses. The restaurant is by reservation only—or rather, "reservation"—and offers a highly personalized menu based on guest requests. The menu changes every three months. Refined local ingredients are used, including meat. Whipped maple butter, homemade bread, pretzels, spreadable gorgonzola, and the boiled meats with green sauce in a Chinese ravioli set us on a path to dinner. Innovative appetizers, and the first course, a beetroot and gorgonzola risotto, with rare flavor and balance. The second course's tender and flavorful diaphragm cooked on a silken potato. A genuine, artisanal, unfiltered Grignolino. A Catalan cream with a surprising flavor and color.

11/01/2026: Mediocre atmosphere, expensive food for the quality, slow service. We split the bill between three people, and he verbally told us the rounded-up amount for each family, taking a full €1 off the total! Then, at the POS, he charged every last cent... not recommended.
10/01/2026: The meat is excellent, as are the appetizers and desserts. Next time I'll try the bagna cauda!
Also great for lunch with friends, with quick and courteous service.

23/01/2025: Torniamo dopo molto tempo in questo locale famoso per il suo fritto misto piemontese. Che ritroviamo sempre di ottima qualità (forse questa volta servito un pelino freddo). La presenza di una sola cameriera (servizio lento in generale) non giustifica. Mi metto comunque nei panni di questa ragazza che di più non poteva fare… Buoni gli antipasti è il vino locale. Lascio comunque le 5 stelle

29/12/2024: Pessima esperienza. Attirato dalle recensioni positive, siamo stati ieri sera a cenare con amici. Il ristorante si compone di più ambienti separati tutti con accesso dall'esterno. Questo ha fatto si che ogni volta che un cameriere entrasse per servire l'aria gelida di dicembre lo accompagnasse allegramente e nulla poteva la barriera di aria calda sparata dal soffitto. Passando al cibo del menù fisso obbligatorio, antipasto servito in 4 gusci di conchiglia per piatto, stile anni 80. Senza infamia o lodi, ma in seguito scopriremo essere il meglio di tutta la cena. Seguito da una "badilata" di trofie con cozze e poche vongole e schegge di gusci qua e là direttamente dalla padella ai piatti. I secondi abbondanti in quantità, ma anche scarsissimi in qualità avrebbero voluto essere una frittura ed una grigliata di pesce. Mal fritto, mal cotto, mal conservato e chissà forse anche mal congelato... al primo boccone ho lasciato tutto nel piatto. La cena si è conclusa con mandarini, noci e sorbetto!!! In conclusione il top della cena... un ottimo caffè. Conclusione in bellezza, 7 crodini, 7 menù, acqua e vino bianco dozzinale per la modica spesa di 50 euro a persona. Non abbiamo potuto conoscere prima la spesa in quanto nessun menù è stato fornito in visione ne tantomeno la lista allergeni. Un plauso al personale di sala, comunque gentile ed educato. Alla cassa risposte dai toni supponenti e velatamente arroganti alle nostre rimostranze per i vari disagi. Mai più Alen!!! Specialità no comment!!!
