20/02/2025: A rather interesting and incredible discovery. Really nice and personal place that I couldn't describe in words. Run by a small, very humble and very polite family who, when they bring the dishes to the table, also explain the Eritrean culture... a truly speechless experience.
We will definitely be back because the food is really delicious.
The place is very clean and full of paintings of Eritrean culture, very very beautiful.

22/03/2025: We arrived right on time at noon after booking a table on thefork. We chose this place flattered by the good reviews that give it a high rating. The place, tiny, poorly lit and somewhat unkempt, smelled of disinfectant in an annoying way. An ill-disposed lady put 2 menus on the table for us. The host was not at all hospitable. Not even a monosyllable greeting or a half smile. A mega screen dominated the room and projected a squalid program and the high volume was quite disturbing. But it was as if we were at a suburban bar forgotten by everyone. Expectations quickly turned into disgust. But what are we doing here? A limited choice of single dishes for around 24 euros, 3 appetizers for 2 euros, no dessert or typical drink, the nauseating smell of disinfectant, the high volume that disturbs, an inhospitable host. And we left to go eat elsewhere. Disgust also for all the tempting experiences of previous customers who praise non-existent intimacy and atmosphere.
15/03/2025: Sono capitata casualmente in questo ristorante, perché quello in cui ero solita andare ha chiuso.
Il locale è piccolo, ma accogliente. Il proprietario è di una gentilezza incredibile. Il fatto che i tavoli siano quasi attaccati tra loro, se all’inizio spaventa, si rivela invece la forza del locale: in una città come Milano di colpo si è tutti amici, grazie anche alla simpatia del proprietario.
Oltre a questo si mangia anche molto molto bene a prezzi davvero onesti.
In un attimo è diventato il mio locale del cuore. Ve lo consiglio davvero

La sua cucina è un'esperienza: fatevi guidare dai suoi consigli e non resterete delusi! È una cucina "diversa" ma piena di gusto e preparata con amore.

Le restaurant est petit mais c'est ce qui fait son charme.
La cuisine et l'ambiance sont authentiques et familiales ce qui signifie qu'il faut s'attendre à de l'inattendu !

17/02/2025: Analogamente ai nostri amici, a noi piace molto sperimentare e in questo caso abbiamo scelto questo caratteristico ristorante eritreo (peraltro non l'unico in via Melzo, ne abbiamo visto un altro poco prima, sullo stesso lato della medesima strada).
L'ambiente appare alquanto nuovo, probabile frutto di una radicale ristrutturazione recente, e di distingue in ogni piacevole dettaglio per lo stile di ambientazione, arredi e suppellettili.
Vi sono alcuni tavoli normali ma a noi ne hanno assegnato uno di quelli tondi, bassi e piccoli, abbinati a sedie di foggia tipica e con gambe più corte dello standard mondiale: la combinazione, per quanto originale, a me è risultata parecchio scomoda. Per fortuna c'erano due tavolini di servizio più piccoli dove abbiamo potuto appoggiare bevande e altro. Ancor meno agevole è stato dover "reimparare" a mangiare con le mani, facendo attenzione a non sporcare troppo né il pavimento né i pantaloni.
Il cibo, seppur limitato nella sua varietà, lo abbiamo apprezzato molto: oltre agli sfiziosi antipasti, disponibili nelle versioni carne e vegetariana, abbiamo attinto tutti da un solo grande vassoio, con al centro la carne e intorno verdure ed altre specialità difficili da identificare a causa dell'abbondanza di spezie che rende piuttosto uniformi i sapori. Per rendere meno problematico afferrare i bocconi ci si aiuta con una sorta di sfoglia molliccia che sostituisce il pane, la stessa sulla quale è adagiato il piatto unico comune.
A fine pasto, dopo aver imbrattato perbene il tovagliolo, ho sentito il bisogno di andare in bagno a lavarmi le mani per completare l'opera.
La cena è stata abbondante e non siamo riusciti a finire la seconda portata (di pollo) che peraltro non avevamo ordinato e il conto finale è stato adeguato rispetto al cibo e alle bevande consumate.
02/02/2025: MANGIATO BENE ,ottimo zighini con ingera, bevuto birra, dolce alvah. Serata discreta. Prezzo troppo alto per quello che abbiamo mangiato.
