06/02/2026: My partner and I dined here a few nights ago and had an excellent evening. The food was delicious, the service was courteous and discreet, and the atmosphere was refined and relaxing. Special mention: we spent a week in Roccaraso on a skiing holiday and contacted numerous establishments (ski rentals, ski passes, hotels, shops, and various restaurants), and this restaurant was the only place where we were treated with genuine kindness and respect.
05/02/2026: Excellent dinner. I tried the Truffle tasting menu, and all the dishes were well-executed and delicious. Perhaps I'd include dessert in the tasting menu, as is often the case in similar settings. Prices are in line with, if not lower than, other restaurants of the same caliber, and absolutely in keeping with the offerings.
Definitely worth returning to when in the area.

11/01/2026: A very beautiful and well-kept location, with a fireplace in the front room creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The dishes are well-prepared, with quality ingredients and balanced portions. An overall pleasant experience.
05/01/2026: We arrived at 8:00 PM as scheduled. Drinks: We ordered a bottle of wine, water, and three Cokes. They forgot about the Cokes. After asking for them, some time passed and they arrived, then I wanted to bring them again, with no communication between the staff. Appetizers: We ordered two platters, two pizzas, and a focaccia. The platters arrived first, then the two pizzas slowly, and the focaccia disappeared. So much so that when we finished the appetizer, we pointed out the lack of it to the waiter and cancelled the order. The icing on the cake, around 10:40 PM—due to the slow service, not our slowness—when the bill was being brought to our table, a woman who had been at the register when we entered approached us and asked us to leave the table as there were customers waiting.

The location is splendid, meticulously maintained and impeccably clean, with an atmosphere that makes the experience even more special. Here, nothing is left to chance. An unmissable address, raising the bar and becoming a reference point. Highly recommended.
08/12/2025: Let's start with the truly unique and welcoming location, like being in a mountain chalet, with attention to every detail.
The owners are kind and professional, and know how to put you at ease.
There were several of us for dinner, and we tried several cuts of meat on the menu, all excellent from the first to the last.
Special attention was also paid to the wine list, which ranges from northern to southern Italy and beyond.
A well-deserved 5 stars.

06/01/2026: Historic pizzeria and restaurant in Roccaraso. Excellent pizzas, pasta dishes, meat dishes, and desserts. Friendly staff, and despite the spacious dining room, service is quite fast. Prices are reasonable.

I've been to Antica Ricetta, and I still think about the arrosticini: simply the best I've ever had. Tender, juicy, perfectly cooked, and with that authentic Abruzzo flavor you'll rarely find elsewhere.
The restaurant is welcoming, simple yet elegant, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Service is quick despite the full dining room, a sign that they know how to manage customers well, even during busy periods.
I also really appreciated the atmosphere: warm, family-friendly, ideal for a traditional dinner after a day in the mountains. Fair prices and top-notch quality.

27/08/2025: A beautiful and relaxing day, immersed in nature, among woods and meadows. Some of the installations along the trail could use some better maintenance, but the kids had a blast visiting the elves' houses. And after the trail, you arrive at the beautiful paradise cabin, where you can relax and eat, even to the sound of music.

If you're looking for the true essence of Abruzzo cuisine, La Capannina is an absolute must. We were welcomed with an old-world warmth and professionalism: the staff is exquisitely kind, always attentive to every detail and capable of making you feel at home from the first moment.
But let's move on to the highlight: the food.
* The house antipasto is a triumph of local flavors: a lavish platter of local cured meats, quality cheeses (the fresh ricotta is sublime!), artisanal pickled vegetables, and incredibly flavorful sautéed mushrooms.
* The first courses are pure poetry. We tried a fresh pasta with incredibly creamy porcini mushroom cream, a dish that exudes mountain flavors and tradition.
* The meat, cooked to perfection, confirms the high quality of the ingredients used. Even the simplest dishes, like the hamburger and fries, exude an authentic, captivating flavor.
* The atmosphere is rustic and welcoming, as you'd expect from a high-end retreat in Roccaraso. Excellent value for the quality offered.
Highly recommended! We'll definitely be back to indulge in the flavors of Abruzzo again.

02/09/2025: We arrived at the refuge around 3 PM, but even though we'd eaten, they cooked us delicious arrosticini right there. It's worth coming all the way here just to have a coffee and enjoy the view. Friendly staff, clean restrooms, and lovely tables in the woods!
13/08/2025: You arrive and find yourself in this family-run refuge, served by a wonderful, kind, and extremely helpful lady at the counter. We've been here a week and had the best sandwich in all of Abruzzo: sausage, broccoli rabe, and provola. Exceptional desserts. Everything homemade and strictly fresh. Five stars superior!!!

Primi piatti di buona qualità ma scarsi
16/07/2025: Abbiamo festeggiato il compleanno dei vent’anni del mio ragazzo ed è stata un’ottima scelta.
Piatti tipici e particolari molto buoni.
Abbiamo apprezzato sia il tagliere di salumi veramente delizioso e anche il fatto che la pasta fosse fatta a mano.
Speriamo di tornarci.

20/08/2025: My companions had a first course, which was acceptable, and I had a second course, a cutlet with chips. It was a defrosted shoe insole, terrible, plus a bottle of water for €39, which is definitely not to be missed.
