Porta di Basso In Peschici

Abbiamo trascorso una serata meravigliosa. Per quanto avessimo letto alcune recensioni non lusinghiere, abbiamo deciso di trascorrere presso questo ristorante la sera del nostro anniversario. Il ristorante è piccolo e molto affascinante, soprattutto se - come nel nostro caso - si cena a uno dei tavolini sulla terrazza a picco sul mare: al tramonto, lo spettacolo è stupendo; col buio, pur non riuscendosi a vedere il mare (non vi è illuminazione verso il basso), si continua a sentire il rumore delle onde. Abbiamo optato per un menù con piatti a scelta dello chef (il ristorante propone solo due menù: uno a sorpresa e uno con piatti predefiniti; non vi è invece la possibilità di cena alla carta). La cena è stata davvero ottima. Piatti vari, non necessariamente particolarmente elaborati, ma mai scontati (e sempre decisamente buoni). Personale di sala molto cordiale e presente. Lo chef è amichevole e fa ben trasparire la propria passione.

Going here is not going to a simple dinner but living an experience of pleasure for the eyes and the palate. The view of the tables overlooking the sea is extraordinary. The journey that the chef offers with his seven creations is extraordinary. The welcome and attention to detail of Mrs. Annalisa and her staff were extraordinary. Heartfelt congratulations.

My wife and I fell in love with the Porta di Basso restaurant. Eating on the terrace overlooking the sea is something magical. Impeccable service and food, you don't even need to write it, excellent. Very pleasant is the fact that the chef, at the end of the meal, comes to the table to say thank you and say hello. For us it was the second time, there will certainly be a third. Thank you.

We had lunch outside, with a priceless sea view with seagulls hovering in the sky, giving us a feeling of great serenity. Delicious food in line with the flavors of the Gargano, excellent plating and very kind welcome. A round of applause to the owners and the very kind collaborator. Absolutely worth trying

A pretty room in an alley in the old town with a small sea view. However, the stairs to reach the room are very steep, you should know that. Please note that there is a charge for in-room coffee and no bottle of water is offered for a 4-star hotel. It is a shame that after 6 p.m. you have to organize your luggage to get to the hotel, the car park being 700m away. Today there are other ways to help you other than the golf cart. The breakfast is good but you don't have much choice (no cereal for example or just orange juice...)

My first starry experience, thank you for making me live a dream. Super friendly and wonderful staff, impeccable chef and location that will leave you speechless. Thank you for everything, from the bottom of my heart.

My partner and I went to this restaurant last year. For our dinner they made us sit on a terrace overlooking the sea (breathtaking) together with other customers. As soon as we arrived they asked us if we wanted a welcome drink and we gladly accepted. As my only piece of advice I would say to specify to customers the price of this aperitif and possibly the contents, as this was not done for us. We chose a surprise tasting menu, leaving the chef free to create. Aesthetically, we found all the dishes captivating and refined; as far as flavors are concerned, however, we did not find any research into new flavors or combinations. For those who, like us, have origins in the Gargano or come often to visit, these flavors were very simple, like a family dinner. Therefore, the price requested for this menu also did not seem appropriate to what was proposed. The authenticity of the products offered is clear. The service was almost perfect, welcoming and non-intrusive, the only complaint was regarding the aperitif proposal. As for the location, we struggled to quickly find a parking spot nearby, probably because it was a summer Saturday evening and the area was very busy. Overall we had a good time, but we expected something more, especially in terms of flavours. If they were to ask us to return with the same assumptions we would not return, but if there were to be substantial changes in flavor combinations and culinary proposals, probably yes.

The location with the view of the sea is amazing. The food was exquisite (simple but still creative). The service was very attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere and interior were elegant and relaxing.
