My husband and I stayed for New Year's Eve and left on January 2nd. We both stayed and dined at the Locanda, and it was a wonderful experience! Everyone was very kind, and the dinner was superb! Breakfast was meticulously prepared, with a different dessert made every day by the owner of the Locanda! Highly recommended! We'll be back soon! Anna and Daniele from Jesi

Once again, we had the pleasure of dining at La Locanda del Capitano... this time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Having lived in Umbria for the past four and a half years, we have grown to truly appreciate fine food and wine, and for me as a passionate food and wine lover, there is simply no better place than this culinary jewel in Montone. Chef Giancarlo Polito is more than just a master in the kitchen... he is a true gentleman. His genuine care for his guests and his dedication to creating unforgettable dining experiences set this restaurant apart. Every visit feels special, thanks to the perfect combination of exquisite cuisine, warm hospitality, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay much longer. We absolutely love it here, and La Locanda del Capitano continues to be one of the highlights of our life in Umbria.

28/12/2025: Searching for information about this restaurant and its offerings, one finds basic descriptions, but one can easily grasp the uniqueness of the ambiance, both inside and out, and the seasonality of the dishes (hence the attention to ingredients) and the inspiration from tradition. In my opinion, "sea and mountains" is the common thread running through the various offerings, where different ingredients and gastronomic cultures (particularly Umbrian and Sicilian cuisine) find a new identity. For my appetizer, I chose brandy-infused shrimp on a leek cream with Jerusalem artichoke chips: three gradual textures, three distinct flavors that ultimately blend perfectly. For the main course, seafood orzotto. Using barley, a typical Umbrian grain, in place of the usual rice, yielded an unexpected result.

01/03/2026: Excellent modern, functional and panoramic hotel. Punctual and precise service. Breakfast ok.
23/02/2026: We chose this hotel for its convenient location for accessing the city center. We left our car in the Spoleto Sfera parking lot, taking advantage of a discount coupon given to us at check-in. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean, with a king-size bed and a bathroom with a very large, clean shower and a beauty kit. The breakfast, with excellent sweet and savory options, was worthy of a 4-star hotel. We were accompanied by our dog, but they still gave us a nice room, which unfortunately isn't always a given... We'll definitely be back.
