19/07/2025: We had dinner last night, and the owner was incredibly helpful and kind, waiting for us past closing time. We had an excellent traditional appetizer with crostoni, cured meats, and cheeses. The first courses were also delicious and freshly prepared: tagliolini with truffles and pappardelle with wild boar ragù. To finish, he recommended the baked guinea fowl! Excellent! We highly recommend it and will definitely be back. Beautiful location, in the center of the village, very kind owner, and excellent food. See you next time!

23/07/2025: Nestled in the hills, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. A lovely and comfortable property, friendly and helpful staff, and, above all, an excellent à la carte restaurant where you can taste their wines. A place of absolute relaxation and tranquility to recharge your batteries. Highly recommended!

23/07/2025: We stayed at this property in July 2025 and will definitely return...the reception staff, Daniele and Sergio, were truly welcoming and made us feel at home with their warmth and kindness. The peace, quiet, and view make this property truly pleasant and romantic, just what you need to relax and recharge.

08/09/2025: A quaint place. Simple but tasty cuisine. We stopped by on a Sunday for lunch; the place was packed, which may have caused confusion and slow service. Overall, though, we're happy with our choice.

07/09/2025: The food wasn't bad, but the staff was rude and excessively slow. We waited an hour for the starters, when customers who arrived after us had time to finish their food and leave. Poor value for money, and the bathroom didn't have toilet paper (for a €2.50 cover charge per person, I would have expected the bare minimum). If you have time to spare, I recommend it for a long lunch; otherwise, you'd be better off choosing a place with more reasonable service.

04/07/2025: Recently changed name but fortunately not the pizza recipe! Although now styled as a dry-aged meat restaurant, it still makes great pizzas with a crispy dough and generous toppings! We selected the Baltica cut and it was perfectly prepared with the marbled fat creating an incredible taste. The service was excellent and the outside dining temperature was moderated by welcomed wall fans. Highly recommended!

07/06/2025: Excellent. Even though the last dinner, due to a mishap in the kitchen, didn't go very well. They apologized and promptly wanted to "redo" the dish. Oh, I forgot, it was the first time that, at the table, they showed me the weight of the rib. Compliments for the professionalism

18/08/2025: A club from another era. It feels like stepping back in time. The atmosphere is pleasant, but only if you're nostalgic. Service is friendly and fast.

17/08/2025: A great lunch stop in Umbria! Just 6 km from the Fabro exit of the Autostrada del Sole, we decided to stop for lunch. The restaurant is air-conditioned and cool, with a view of the countryside. We ordered a mixed antipasto for five, including mixed crostini with tomato, mushrooms, and truffle, and a plate of local prosciutto. Everything was excellent! Next, we tried the Florentine steak (rare), grilled lamb chops (highly recommended), pollo all'cacciatora (sublime), flavorful guinea fowl (surprising game), and mutton skewers (very tender). All accompanied by sautéed chicory and baked potatoes. The service was extremely friendly, fast, and professional. For dessert, we tried tiramisu and zuppa inglese, both highly recommended. The value for money is excellent. In conclusion, La Castagneta is an excellent choice for relaxing and dining during your trip!

12/07/2025: Very friendly, now a regular stop for football matches. A good place for a quick lunch. Personally, the pizza by the slice is second to none.

10/05/2025: Siamo stati in questo ristorante spinte dalle recensioni, che non hanno deluso e e anzi hanno superato le aspettative, il locale è molto carino, il personale gentilissimo, ma il top del top sono i piatti, abbiamo preso delle tagliatelle di farro fantastiche, penne ai ceci neri super buone, e un dolce senza latte vegano, fatto di pasta frolla e crema di cacao SPETTACOLARE!!! Da provare assolutamente! CONSIGLIATISSIMO

08/05/2025: tutti sono gentilissimi e disponibili a rispondere ad eventuali domande o richieste. una selezione di menù per accontentare i gusti di tutti ma soprattutto tutto davvero buono! e poi l’atmosfera è accogliente e bellissima, soprattutto se si mangia all’esterno. lgbtqia+ friendly. ci torneremo!

10/07/2025: I was there today. The food is awful, the owners are truly awful and have zero respect. I advise you not to go there.

23/08/2025: Centrally located bar/restaurant with a spacious terrace and good cocktails. The two biggest drawbacks are the heavy mosquito population and the 200ml Coke bottle (not even a taste). Friendly staff.

15/08/2025: Terrible experience. We called in the afternoon to ask if they made gluten-free pizzas, and once we got there, the pizzas we received were FROZEN. There was nothing salvageable about the pizza; even the tomato sauce was inedible! Plus, the service was poor; the waitress was pushy and unprofessional.

30/07/2025: I order three takeout pizzas. I'm immediately greeted with a freshly baked focaccia and a glass of wine. So much attention, not even at my mother's house. Thank you.

16/08/2025: Fantastic giardiniera pizza: delicious vegetables, a well-balanced dough, and excellent taste. Perfectly cooked. Chef Giancarlo is truly a master of pizza: a fantastic sensory experience.

29/07/2025: First of all we ordered a bottle of tap water. I understand this isn’t the cultural norm in Italy but our waiter spoke good English and said he understood what we meant, but then still charged us for it. We ordered two glasses of white wine, which cost 6 euros each. The wine was nice but the amount was very small, we didn’t think anything of it until we noticed an Italian woman behind us had been poured a glass three times the size of ours, from the same bottle as ours. There was also no wine or drinks menu so we couldn’t have checked to see what we were ordering. We ordered the rosemary focaccia (€5), aubergine parmigiana (€12) and carbonara (€14). I saw our waiter bring out the focaccia, go up to who appeared to be owner or manager and ask something about or dish, probably whether it was okay to serve as it was burnt. The manager asked what table it was for, the waiter gestured to ours and the manager shrugged his shoulders and we were given it anyway. I don’t speak Italian but it was pretty easy to infer what was going on in this conversation. We called the waiter over and asked if it was meant to be burnt, he replied that it’s meant to be like that. Left half as it was so burnt and didn’t taste of anything. The aborigine parmigiana was really nice, carbonara was okay. Our waiter also brought some bread out for the table next to us and when they refused it he just stuck it on our table, the bread was rock hard and obviously a bit stale. We also noticed the table next to us who were not locals being told that they needed to order more food because they had only ordered 3 dishes between 4 of them. Given that the dishes weren’t cheap and they charged a copetta per person I think this is a bit cheeky. Overall very disappointed, Orvieto is known to have fantastic restaurants and we’re a bit gutted we wasted one of our meals dining here.
