11/08/2025: We dined in the splendid setting of the Sassi di Matera, choosing the "Dimora Ulmo Menu" tasting menu, which allowed us to discover and appreciate the dishes offered by this excellent restaurant. Although it doesn't yet have a Michelin star, it holds its own against other starred restaurants we've tried around Italy. The real strength, beyond the location—which in itself is worth choosing for a romantic dinner in Matera—is the attention to detail and refinement of the dishes. Each course offers unique pairings, in which each ingredient plays its part: from the tartest to the sweetest notes, perfectly balanced in an explosion of flavor and a wealth of original and well-executed combinations. The service was also excellent, with the utmost attention to detail. The maître d', always present but never intrusive, managed to convey emotion and passion for his work. The wine cellar was well-stocked and carefully selected; we particularly appreciated the champagne pairing, which perfectly complemented the entire dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience innovative cuisine in a unique setting like the Sassi di Matera. Compliments to the chefs and all the staff: I'm sure we'll find a star on our next visit.

17/06/2025: Excellent food, with very reasonable prices, especially when compared to the increases that all the restaurants have made recently (from north to south). There were 5 of us for dinner and we tried the appetizers (a mix of land and sea), the chicken cutlet, the pizza with spirulina dough (with the owner/chef who explained the preparation to us) and dessert. Everything was very good. We were very satisfied. The waiting staff was kind and courteous. I recommend it.

15/08/2025: Craving a nice gelato and something refreshing, we decided to stop at this gelateria that immediately struck us as intriguing. We ordered a small cone and a granita. The gelato had no flavors at all; it felt like we were eating just one flavor; the waffle was good quality, while the granita tasted vaguely of melon and a lot of sugar. Honestly, for €6, you can find better—much better, I'd say...

01/08/2025: The restaurant itself is beautiful, and that's where the pros end. The food is okay, really nothing outstanding about it, at times bland. The worst part is for sure the staff, extremely unwelcoming, rather borderline rude. I'd say overall the experience is underwhelming and you're better off skipping this place.

18/08/2025: I went there with my friends for dinner. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were immediately welcomed into a modern and welcoming dining room. There was a wide selection of pizzas and more. Everything was delicious. The owner was extremely professional and attentive to every detail: we felt pampered. We'll definitely be back next time we visit Matera.

29/06/2025: Family atmosphere, super good pizzas. Even the panuozzi are no joke. Carolina super kind and efficient. You can also enjoy good fish as well as a good Neapolitan style pizza. Recommended!

21/07/2025: Excellent food, dimly lit and unwelcoming location. Good selection of salads, overall quite comprehensive menu. I would have given the service a 5 if they hadn't messed up our takeout order: We put together our €8.90 salad from our cell phone with our choice of ingredients, specifying that we wanted salmon and cruschi peppers. When we got home, we were surprised to open the packages and find a plain salad WITHOUT ANY SALMON OR CRUSCHI PEPPERS... of a lower commercial value. Luckily we ordered and the menu was put together from our cell phone; a serious and unprofessional mistake. I didn't have time to return, but I'll definitely point it out, as I'll have the chance if I ever return.

04/08/2025: La nostra permanenza è durata poco,ma abbiamo avuto il piacere di essere accolti e coccolati da Rossana e Antonio...personale gentilissimo e disponibilissimo con noi e con la nostra bambina... abbiamo cenato,pernottato e fatto colazione...tutti prodotti tipici e homemade....la cena dall'antipasto al dolce fino all'amaro è stato un viaggio tra i sapori della Basilicata e la colazione ci ha fatto sentire a casa con una carrellata di ciambelle crostate plumcake da leccarsi i baffi... consigliatissimo!

27/07/2025: Siamo ormai reduci della "Locanda di San Francesco" siamo stati tante volte, sia in gruppo ma anche soli, ogni volta è sempre un avventura straordinaria. Il posto è bellissimo, pulito, profumato e ordinato, si mangia divinamente bene con prodotti tipici locali di alta qualità, si riposa serenamente, con un panorama mozzafiato e una brezza piacevolissima, e un silenzio travolgente..... Il proprietario Antonio, sempre attento e disponibile per qualsiasi esigenza del cliente, così come tutto il suo staff...... Consiglio una visita dopo aver svolto le molteplici attività che si possono fare in zona quali acqua trekking, rafting, river tubing..... Ecc... Ecc..... Volendo trovare un difetto proprio non c'è 😅
