02/05/2026: We were a group. The welcome from the owner was very good. The cocktail was very weak and could be improved. Starting with the room: The bathroom was newly renovated, the furnishings were older but well-maintained. The mattresses were very soft and could use replacing. The balcony was lovely with an even better view of the Mutspitze peak and the valley. It was always clean. Service in the restaurant was very good. The reception staff were also always helpful. The breakfast buffet was adequate and perfectly sufficient. The only negative point was dinner. You had to eat a lot of salad beforehand, and the men, in particular, had trouble with the portion sizes. For example, two tortellini as a starter is quite small. But the main criticism was the taste. It was almost entirely lacking in flavor. Very bland. It was missing everything, even spices and salt. Improvement is needed. Perhaps it's also due to our age that we would have preferred traditional South Tyrolean cuisine instead of fancy dishes. The dessert was decorated with mint leaves, which were all wilted – something we've never seen before. It's best to avoid it. Otherwise, the hotel is a good choice.

Strengths Analysis Location and Atmosphere: The location offers one of the most evocative panoramic views in the area. The visual impact, combined with the design of the rooms (extremely welcoming and well-maintained), defines a setting I would describe as unparalleled. Management and Hospitality: The true added value is the human capital. The owners manage the property with a dedication that transforms the guest-hotelier relationship into an almost family-like bond. The welcome is impeccable, warm, and consistent. Services and Wellness: The common areas and services are top-notch; in particular, the pool proves to be a key element for relaxation. Food and Wine: The quality of the food is excellent, complemented by a varied and high-quality breakfast buffet. Although the dinner price is slightly above average, it's justified by the quality of the ingredients and the service. Final Considerations The only real "downside" is the objective difficulty of leaving the property at the end of your stay: leaving such a rejuvenating and harmonious environment is the only sore point in an otherwise perfect experience.

18/05/2026: We had three wonderful days. The chalet is very well-equipped, spotlessly clean, and the view and food were top-notch. The daily room cleaning deserves special mention – it was exceptionally clean. We also enjoyed excellent meals at the restaurant, and having the fondue delivered to the chalet was a real highlight. Everyone was very friendly, we felt completely at ease, and we would love to come back.

17/05/2026: Amazing Location - Everything Else Has Potential Simply a dream location, great lodge amenities - fantastic atmosphere in the mountains - sauna and whirlpool including infrared heaters - WOW! The mobile kitchen was AMAZING - very accommodating and super attentive - the massage was great - a truly wonderful staff member. Arrival on the day of rest - as if we were disturbing the place - breakfast was uninspired, the cheese was just sliced ​​cheese - simply mass-produced, cold cuts - also just mass-produced. Special requests were summarily crossed out - they don't seem to know what they're doing! (Chia seeds) Not even a "I'll have that checked and get back to you." On the first day, the orange juice was concentrate - then freshly squeezed. Such a fantastic place to stay, and then the management simply forgot about the little extras.

The elevator and the in-room safe are also convenient. The bathroom is spacious and offers plenty of room. Depending on the room, there is also a balcony with a table and chairs, which makes the stay even more pleasant. The windows have roller shutters, allowing for good room darkening. The connection to public transport is also a major advantage: the South Tyrol Guest Card allows free bus travel, making trips to Merano quick and easy. One drawback is the lack of air conditioning. Combined with the south-facing windows, this can lead to significant heat buildup in the room, especially during warm weather. Overall, it's a solid hotel with good amenities and practical benefits, particularly its location, guest card, and parking, but the indoor climate can be problematic in the summer.

03/06/2026: A lovely spot to rest and stop for a bite to eat. Unfortunately, the service wasn't as great as the view. Of the two servers, one was constantly serving and clearing tables, while the other was largely invisible, but apparently responsible for taking orders and handling payments. We had to wait a very long time for our food. One dish arrived lukewarm, and the second arrived after I had finished eating. The roast potatoes were warmed in plenty of oil, not browned. My wife had to carry the money to the server to pay. Had we walked a few meters further to the next mountain hut, this disappointment would certainly have been avoided. Unfortunately, with this staff, I can't recommend it. What a shame!

14/12/2025: Very nice hotel, new rooms, and the spa is beautiful, large, luxurious, and beautifully detailed. Breakfast and dinner were very good. The dinner was very well prepared with quality ingredients. I highly recommend it.

29/09/2025: My girlfriend and I unfortunately only stayed one night in your cozy Ortlerblick suite on our return trip from Milan. We were overwhelmed by the beautiful 180-degree view of the Alps from our balcony and our accommodation. Our suite was very modern and absolutely clean. The Illmer family owns a very well-maintained, comfortable, and tastefully furnished property, which they make available to their guests along with friendly and courteous staff. Not only the very friendly hotelier, but also the service team took great care of our well-being. The 5-course dinner menu was exceptionally varied, a feast for the eyes, and very digestible. For a vegetarian like me, there was a huge selection of delicacies. The service came to our table regularly and discreetly to provide us with the best culinary delights. The selection of drinks, both at dinner and breakfast, left nothing to be desired. The breakfast offerings were very extensive. There were a variety of fresh juices, fruit, rolls, bread, cheeses, etc. We are very sorry we only booked for one night. Next time, we will definitely stay longer to have more time for the luxurious wellness area. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her massage in the afternoon.
