The pizzas are delicious, and for me, who's lactose intolerant, they also have lactose-free mozzarella available.
I also saw gluten-free pizzas on the menu.
What can I say!!!
Stop by and see these guys if you're in Colle, you won't regret it.

02/06/2026: I went there for dinner with friends, the place and people were fantastic, the Florentine steak was excellent.
10/05/2026: A family-friendly atmosphere with no pretensions. Kind and friendly. We dined and stayed two nights in the Istrice apartment, where we also had horseback riding lessons.
The homemade food was good, but nothing exceptional. Unfortunately, there was little attention paid to the dishes; we even found a fly in the sauce.
The apartment was clean and very large, with no complaints.
The horseback riding lesson experience was very engaging, with attention to the horse at the beginning and end: thrilling. The only flaw: two slightly overly exuberant dogs who jumped on us to play several times; unfortunately, this behavior isn't always appreciated.
The location is a bit out of the way and can be reached by driving at least a couple of kilometers of dirt road.

28/06/2026: Staying in Viterbo one night, we found this pizzeria near our hotel and decided to have dinner. We sat in the lovely outdoor seating area, and we enjoyed the church bells from across the street. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful to a couple of tourists from the US with limited Italian language skills. We had a Margherita pizza and a Funghi pizza, and they were excellent. The crust was light, and the toppings were so tasty. The prices were less than I would have paid in the US. I would definitely recommend.
24/05/2026: Pizzeria in the Pilastro neighborhood of Viterbo. I'm particularly interested in the quality of the ingredients used, both for the dough and the pan, as well as for the toppings and fillings. Milk is used in the pizza, as stated on the menu. The sausage calzones are a must-try. The staff is also friendly and helpful. Worth a look. Today, May 24, 2026, I was able to review the place and have definitely raised all my scores due to the renovations and the customer service, a courtesy that is quite something these days. A rare treat. Excellent, Mauro, keep it up.

04/05/2026: Hotel located in the center of Colle Val d'Elsa. As its name suggests, it was once home to the local paper mill, whose products could be transported to the port of Pisa because the Elsa River was navigable at the time, allowing access to all the then-known markets. The rooms are welcoming and kept very clean. The food is plentiful and good. Parking near the hotel is a bit difficult. Parking is available about 400 meters away.

We did the Bufala - simple to let that red sauce shine. A Burrata that is so homemade and countering the hot pizza with cold goodness. Def worth a stop. Rosario was our maitre’d and took great care of everything

01/10/2025: Pici all'aglione, peposo with polenta, and grape and walnut cake. Amazing!!! Everything homemade, served with kindness and courtesy, and a more than reasonable price (€49 for two). Highly recommended!

02/05/2026: We stumbled upon it by chance... we booked the restaurant at the last minute. We ate very well... from the pizza to the pappardelle with mushrooms. The charcuterie and cheese platter was excellent. The waitress immediately put us at ease. The staff was helpful and friendly.
We'll definitely be back.

I'd return to Tuscany just for them.

26/08/2025: We stayed three nights at the Relais Della Rovere and dined at the restaurant one evening. The hotel setting is very pleasant, especially the terrace in the summer evenings, but the quality of the food isn't always consistent, which is disappointing considering the price. The beef tartare was very good, but it lacked seasoning. The truffle pasta was good, but you could tell it wasn't homemade and it was cooked in a bit too much butter. The gnocchi were quite good, but the pesto was probably not homemade and lacked flavor. The wine list has a wide selection, but almost no bottles under €45.
We finished with a pecorino cheese board to share, worried we might be disappointed by the desserts. The board was quite generous with cheeses, but we're still looking for the accompaniments listed on the menu.
In short, for a meal costing over €60 per person, we were generally disappointed. I recommend the hotel, but unless you really don't want to go anywhere, skip the restaurant! I'll end on a positive note with the friendly and welcoming service.

13/06/2025: Einfacht typisch Italienische Küche. Sehr ruhig gelegen im der Toskana. Einfache gute Küche. Mit Bilder schön beschrieben wie die Gerichte aussehen. Nonna macht die Pasta selber.
18/05/2025: In posizione defilata, lungo la strada che da Castel porta a San Gimignano, la Locanda del Borgo è un ambiente tranquillo dove si mangia toscano e bene. Ottimi i pici al ragú bianco di cinta senese così come le caramelle ripiene con la pera e il formaggio versato a cascata. Gustosissimo il tagliere con affettati toscani (coppa, finocchiona e salame) accompagnato da crostoni e salsine, il tagliere di formaggi e…senz’altro la famosa fiorentina che qui è certo di casa. Prezzi non economici, ma ormai nello standard. Cena consigliata a chi si trova da queste parti.
