08/08/2024: Good restaurant in the center of Barga. I use quality products with a predilection for those from the area. I haven't been here for years and I must say that I found it improved.

01/08/2024: I was in this restaurant on August 1st, very nice place, very kind staff. We were with dogs including a German shepherd, no problem and I was welcomed with joy and compliments. Excellent menu, superb desserts. Thank you!

29/07/2024: Delicious pizzas and despite it being busy, we were helped very quickly and our 6-year-old received a bowl full of Italian sweets in front of her while waiting.

16/08/2024: Avevamo prenotato 6 pizze per le ore 20.00, alle 20.30 ci viene detto che le pizze erano cadute e dovevano rifarle… dopo mezz’ora che eravamo lì a capire cosa fosse successo… alle 20.50 le pizze erano pronte!! Servizio un po’ scadente, per fortuna che le pizze però buone!!

07/08/2024: Nice location with great view over the mountains and villages. Strong WiFi in room and around the hotel. However the hotel is showing wear. Dents in the elevator door, towels in our room start to fray etc.

06/08/2024: This is a GEM of a hotel/resort and the most beautiful place I have ever stayed. From check-in with Manuel & Jarrad (two fabulous human beings) that love to serve guest needs around the clock with professionalism and kindness, to Lorenzo running the restaurant with incredible food that I barely photographed because I inhaled it before remembering to get pictures most times, to the beautiful hostess Priscilla always ensuring gorgeous seating, to the live music on select nights (great talented people), to Achille keeping the pool sparkling clean and safe with monitoring the chemicals often, to Serena serving us food and cocktails at the pool area, to the 2 fabulous deep tissue massages I did at their spa… if I could give this resort 100 stars I would. The GM George (shout-out from a fellow Lebanese person) should be extremely proud of his hotel, staff, spa, and all around experience his team gives. 100/10 and no exaggeration. I’ve never seen a better or more dedicated staff than at this resort. They work hard around the clock and are ready to serve all your needs. They did a fabulous job on our much needed laundry too and the price is beyond fair for the service. We extended by 3 extra days and skipped time elsewhere for this because of how amazing the second we walked in was until the second we left. It’s gorgeous, very clean, and the BEST air conditioning found in Italy. They had separate adjustable thermostats in the bedroom and living room and our stay was SO comfortable. It’s honestly even more gorgeous in person and my pictures do not do it justice. You must go to see it in person. The views are incredible 🇮🇹 This is an Indigenous part of northern Tuscany that I’m so grateful we found. Stay here. It is worth every penny and compared to prices elsewhere, it’s very reasonable. I love you Renaissance Tuscany, your entire staff, and we will be back. We are an active-duty US military family that has gone all over the world and this is hands down the best place we have ever stayed from start to finish. Relaxing, peaceful, accommodating, and views that literally take your breath away. Thank you for making our trip unforgettable . We love you and will come back often for the rest of our lives. 20/08/2024: Since my partner's family lives in Barga, you showed us this great restaurant - a real insider tip! We went to the Apparetivo there and drank really delicious wine and ate very attractively prepared appetizers. I could have eaten my fill, it was that good. Amateur musicians played right next to the tables in the outdoor area and the ambience was a dream. The very owner is also very nice and accommodating. Thank you for the great evening and we’ll be happy to come back next time you visit!

06/08/2024: Food was great. It tasted very good. Service was also good. It's just a shame that they don't speak English. But I rate that as neutral. Prices were really cheap and the quality was very good.

15/06/2024: A warranty! Wide choice of dishes including first courses, second courses and desserts. Convenient, fast and honest even for business lunches. Abundant dishes. Also takeaway. Pizza at all hours. The staff is always very friendly. Well done!

19/08/2024: We were a group of 8 people. The food was perfect except for the lamb dish. Here it was very different in quality and taste. Points deducted for that. There was a lot going on in the restaurant in the evening. Unfortunately the service was not attentive. We would have liked to order more drinks, but the service staff didn't come despite asking. Hence point deduction.

18/08/2024: I expected more. Food was mediocre. I visited many Italian restaurants in my trip and i know Italian food and this was not it. I ordered 250gr steak but it was more like 150gr. The lasagna looked like it was microwaved.

29/07/2024: Proprio dietro le mura, all'ingresso di Barga, a due passi dal Duomo, L'Altana è un ottimo posto sotto tutti i punti di vista: personale gentile e rapido, atmosfera piacevole e soprattutto alta qualità delle proposte gastronomiche a un prezzo onesto. Consiglio i maccheroni al tartufo (tartufo vero...) e tutti i primi fatti in casa; il filetto di maiale al pepe verde, semplice ma gustosissimo; i contorni con sformati di verdura e il tiramisù fra i dessert. Ottimo anche il vino della casa. Esperienza da ripetere...

24/06/2024: A refined but at the same time welcoming environment with excellent food prepared with care. Staff very attentive to customer needs, we felt at ease (thank you for the toys you brought us to keep the children at bay and for your kindness). Amazing fresh homemade pasta, equally delicious flan and side dishes and succulent meat. Desserts prepared with attention and first choice ingredients. The wine is also good. What can I say, on a rainy day you were a magnificent positive note.

12/01/2024: Rotisserie from times gone by, with various tasty preparations. The veal with tuna sauce is excellent.

26/08/2024: Don't go there to eat the first courses, ONLY pizza. Non-existent staff, we were abandoned and only after an hour and a half did they remember us by bringing us nauseating starters and a tasteless cut. Decent pizza... DON'T WRITE OSTERIA
