05/05/2025: This was hands down the best food I had in Sicily so far. The staff were very welcoming and polite, and we received good recommendations for meals and wine. Definitely going to return to this place during my stay.

04/05/2025: Vincenzo and all the staff were very friendly, they made us experience a real Sicilian fish-based dinner and they took care of every rude thing towards us!

05/02/2025: The only flaw was that of the duck served as a hamburger, we didn't like the combination with the stracciatella very much but it could just be a matter of taste. For the rest we had an excellent lunch.

03/02/2025: Salve Premesso che al servizio tavoli diamo il TOP. Ma alla cucina 0, se non avete le materie prime non proponete piatti e/o coppi. Coppo tutto pieno di code di pesce piene di spine. Non parliamo del primo orrendo, salatissimo, Mali fate i corsi di cucina. Ma come si fa, così invece di avvicinare i clienti li allontanate.

29/03/2025: I enter a chicken shop and then discover that they make cassatella with lemon peel, following the old recipe of my grandparents. What a nice surprise, even the sugar is not the glazed one but granulated....a spectacle for the eyes, a delight for the palate. Excellent

27/10/2024: Yesterday, we had an amazing meal at l’Antico Granaio. I had seared tuna with pistachios, and my wife had seared tuna with pickled red onions. Both tuna dishes were perfectly prepared, but the sweet and sour pickled red onions were exceptional – such a perfect balance! For dessert, we had the pistachio tiramisu, which at first seemed like a disappointment because it wasn’t fresh. However, after the first bite, it became clear – it was a flavor explosion you simply can’t achieve with fresh tiramisu. Only two days left here in Castellammare del Golfo, but we’ll be back!

The service was extremely attentive, the sea salad, well prepared and very pleasant, and the spaghetti alle vongole are among the best I have eaten in my life (and yet I am quite a connoisseur). All in a friendly setting on a small terrace on the main street and with very generous portions.

05/05/2025: Best food we had during our 2 week stay in Sicily. A beautiful hidden gem. Go for the Polpo pasta - was out of this world good. Great service too.

01/05/2025: Lunch on May 1st: crowded room, predefined menu (€45 per person). We arrive (7 of us) around 1pm and sitting at the booked table we are served with starters around 2.15pm!!!! After a long break (45 minutes) the first courses are served. Another long pause to have the second courses (3.45pm only the meat; the salad after another 15 minutes). Another long wait for dessert/fruit (only 60 minutes). We got up at 5pm!!! I wonder: did we go to lunch or dinner? Maybe the staff was understaffed? Satisfied with the food and the location but not with the rest!!!

08/05/2025: Great atmosphere and nice service. Food not my favorite - Sicily tends to be two extremes, either overly salty or no salt at all. Baffling. We had anchovies starter which my companion loved but I didn’t and I had the Anormal. It was well presented but bland; like they don’t salt the pasta water. They had the mussels soup which was very tasty.

08/05/2025: Unfortunately, the food was just ok as expected from the reviews, the ambience in the restaurant was rather cool and boring, the view of the harbor was very nice, the left side of the terrace was a bit dingy and not very inviting. Service was friendly, but some things were forgotten. Prices rather too high

22/04/2025: Very varied menu if you want to eat meat, fish or choose from the great variety of really special pizzas, highly recommended place. Everything very good. Friendly and kind staff.

30/04/2025: Truly very good dishes and the ones in the photo are highly recommended (couscous and "merry widow" tagliatelle). It's a shame about the service, which despite the evening not being high season (to be precise, we went on 29/04) was not very up to par, lacking some foresight (for example indicating the wine being served by the glass and even just a greeting after paying the bill). Despite this, it can be a bad evening even for the waiters but I would certainly recommend it for the quality of the dishes offered, absolutely worth trying if you are even just passing through Castellammare)!
