08/04/2026: The food was good, but you can't stay there only for a coffee or a drink. You are required to order food, otherwise the waiter will ask you to leave (in my opinion, that's very rude).
02/04/2026: Nothing to complain about. We were able to look at the menu in peace without feeling rushed. We had toast, coffee, omelets and a croissant with jam. The toast was tasty and large. The coffee was better than we've experienced elsewhere in the area, as was the croissant, which was fresher and had the right amount of jam. We were able to easily top up our order during the meal. Friendly service.

01/08/2025: Accueil et service catastrophiques.
Personnel et responsable arrogants et irrespectueux, à la limite du tolérable .
On nous a demandé 4x si on voulait le restaurant ou la pizzeria en sous sol .
Le repas était bon , mais ce comportement gâche tout .
Les tables avec vue sur la magnifique terrasse ne sont pas accessibles au commun des mortels.
Je déconseille fortement ce restaurant .
30/07/2025: Visited Granduca in July 2025 on the anniversary of our wedding. Especially especially as we had our wedding meal here 22 years ago to the day.
First issue was they couldn’t find our booking despite us going in a week earlier and booking our table.
That was sorted and we were sat in a very nice seat overlooking the bay.
Food was good, not brilliant but was okay.
Service was shocking.
So unfriendly, unwelcoming and downright snobby.
We will not be returning.

The restaurant is run by a lovely old man who doesn't speak English, and honestly, that makes the experience even more authentic.
The waitress is super friendly and speaks English, so everything goes very smoothly.
I had a pizza: incredibly fresh ingredients (which is quite rare in Taormina, in my experience), and frankly… delicious. It's the only place in Taormina where I truly felt like I was having a real, simple, and genuine Italian experience.
And what's more, the prices are very affordable: only €8.50 for the pizza and €3 for the Sprite.
I 100% recommend it if you're looking for something authentic!

16/11/2025: Went in to get an ice cream, the service was great and people were nice. The ice cream was €5 a cup, we could mix two flavors in one cup. The cups were pretty big (we said we wanted a small variant though).
There's only one lactose-free option (apparently) - lemon ice cream (see the photo, pink spoon). The other cup contains melon flavor, which was awesome, and coffee, which was average. (And a spoon of cherry flavor as a taste test.)
16/10/2025: Nothing to complain… at least cafeteria seems to be better than average level here.

24/06/2025: La mia esperienza in questo ristorante è stata decisamente negativa. Il pesce crudo, che avrebbe dovuto essere il punto di forza del menù, era chiaramente al limite di freschezza, se non passato. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo è inaccettabile: prezzi alti per piatti privi di gusto, mal bilanciati e dall’aspetto trascurato. L’estetica è trascurata, con accostamenti discutibili e una cura inesistente per i dettagli.
Inaccettabile poi trovare nel piatto il carapace del granchio lasciato lì senza alcun criterio: una scelta di pessimo gusto, che compromette sia la fruibilità del piatto che l’esperienza complessiva.
Unica nota positiva, la possibilità di cenare all’esterno con vista sulla piazza. Peccato che anche questa venga rovinata da una postazione scomodissima, con tavoli così stretti da rendere difficile l'accesso
22/06/2025: Molto deludente. I balconcini panoramici sulla piazza, sono piccolissimi e scomodi. I decantati piatti di pesce senza carattere, sapori slegati e, per questo, ingiustificatamente costosissimi . Spaghetti all'astice meno che mediocri, della pasta tipo gnocchetti con broccoli e gamberi rossi di Mazara, con gamberi senza sapore assolutamente non freschi ed affogati in un incomprensibile sugo con broccoli che induce seri interrogativi sul percorso formativo dello chef. Insipidi e malamente riscaldati gli antipasti. Dulcis in fundo, cannoli siciliani insignificanti ripieni solo ai lati, con cannolo praticamente per lo più vuoto. Il conto è stato il colpo di grazia 241 euro in due. Questo ristorante è un enorme bluff.

14/04/2025: Una rápida parada de bebida después de un día ajetreado de compras.
El entorno era agradable, el tiempo era perfecto y aparte de algunos asientos mixtos (algunos confortables, otros no) era un gran lugar para parar.
Los cócteles eran agradables y grandes, ofrecían una gran variedad. La comida se veía bien, pero no estábamos comiendo y la mayoría de las mesas no eran lo que consideraríamos comida de comida adecuada, más bocadillos y mordiscos.
