20/08/2026: Pizza Corte Riga – A True "Chalk and Cheese" Experience Pizza Corte Riga is the definition of a gamble. If you walk in and there are fewer than four covers in the entire dining room, you can expect a perfectly pleasant meal with reasonable service and food that arrives together. The moment they hit capacity beyond four tables, however, the entire operation unravels. On our recent visit, the kitchen and waitstaff were hopelessly overwhelmed. To her credit, our waitress was doing her best, but she was assigned a massive area far too large for one person to manage. The real disaster was the timing from the kitchen: My pizza arrived first. 15 minutes later, my toddler daughter’s meal finally appeared. 25 minutes after that—and only after we flagged down staff—my wife’s and my toddler son’s meals arrived. Waiting a total of 45 minutes between the first and last meal at a single table is unacceptable, especially with hungry toddlers in tow. When the bill arrived, I brought up the staggered service, only to be met with an argumentative teenager explaining that dishes have "different cooking times." While that makes sense in theory, we ordered pizza, sausage and chips, pasta, and gnocchi—standard menu items that any competent kitchen knows how to time so a family can eat together. The Verdict: The kitchen lacks basic pass management, and management understaffs the floor, we’ll almost true, plenary of staff, some of which are as useful as a chocolate teapot. Unless you happen to catch them when the dining room is virtually empty, avoid this place when it's busy.

17/08/2026: Never have I experienced such a difference between the food on offer and the service available. We were shown to a table on arrival and sat, and sat, and sat some more with no service despite best efforts to flag someone down until 20 minutes later when we gave up and went hunting for someone in charge to ask if we might be served. We ordered drinks, 2 kids meals, a shared starter and 2 adult meals (no enquiry as to how we would like our steaks to be cooked which seemed strange). We first received the wrong drinks, rectified after calling someone back. We then received one child’s meal and the starter. Having finished all of these we still hadn’t received the second child’s meal (a simple plate of pasta and sauce). We waited a further half hour during which we found that the next table were also waiting an inordinate amount of time with distressed children for their meals with the rest of the order having arrived. The second child’s meal eventually arrived by which time the poor starving thing was in tears and had resorted to snacking on scraps of everyone else’s meal. This was followed a short time later by our steaks (with potatoes rather than the salad that we ordered). We completely failed to summon any service to rectify this problem but at this point just wanted to finish and get out of the place! The biggest shame is that all of the food was excellent but it was so badly let down by the appalling service that it made a most unpleasant dining experience overall. On balance - avoid!

25/07/2026: I'm sorry, we've been getting pizza from you for years, but this time I've convinced myself, after the last but one, that the pizza you offer now, I'm sorry to say, is far from being called such. Inedible after 2 minutes, but what's surprising is that the dough, for me, is not pizza dough, nor focaccia or anything else!!!!!

02/06/2026: Highly recommended, the dough is soft and crunchy at the same time, well-risen. The topping is tasty.

22/07/2026: Beautiful and numerous options. Good and light pizza. The only thing I don't like is that the ingredients are arranged in rectangles on the band, but that's just my obsession.

23/03/2026: A nasty surprise! We ordered pizza by the slice, but when we got home we realized something was wrong: the rising process was obviously problematic, the flavor wasn't right, and once we reheated it, it became even worse and toasty. P.S. 30 euros thrown in the trash.
