03/07/2025: Hello! On a very hot summer day after visiting the gardens, this place was open. A gentleman whose name I don't remember, but I think it was Carlo, served us incredibly well. We ordered a fresh salad, and it was very fresh! And a seafood platter. Excellent!! Delicious Aperol and some simple ice cream for dessert. We spent 43 euros on everything. I would go back a thousand times. I'm left with a wonderful feeling of being served by the elderly people who work there. This place may not be the most modern, but it has the charm of something you'd look for in Italy. THANK YOU ♥️

18/04/2025: Good welcome from the waitress. Quite typical restaurant setting, we can see that the pizzeria opened in 1965 (according to a photo on the wall) and has certainly not changed too much since then... but that is hardly annoying. Regulars laughing happily were in the restaurant. The pizzas were served quickly and tasted good. The SANTA MARIA which is at the pleasure of the chef had a surprising number of ingredients given the price...9 euros...what can I say?

16/09/2025: While strolling through Lazise, ​​we stumbled upon the restaurant somewhat by chance. My girlfriend and I ordered the house wine, which was truly excellent. For starters, we shared a charcuterie board—which offered four different types of sausage and a variety of pickled vegetables. For main courses, we opted for pasta with arugula pesto and shrimp, and penne amatricana. Both dishes were a good size and tasted excellent. The restaurant is highly recommended, as it has an authentic Italian flair and is a bit off the beaten track.

27/04/2025: As soon as we were seated I had a bad feeling and I was right. It took a while for menus to be delivered to the table and when the waiter finally came over again, we tried to ask a question about the menu but he spoke over us and told us he was there to take out drinks order. When we did order the waiter was looking elsewhere and totally distracted, so it shouldn’t have a surprise that the order was incorrect on arrival. The carbonara was vile, tasted of nothing but egg and the pasta was undercooked (not Al dente, undercooked). By the time Parmesan was offered we’d given up trying to eat it. The pizza that was ordered was ok (compared to the carbonara) but we’re sure the mushrooms were tinned. When we paid, they initially gave us a bill for over -€330 (for three people - one drink and a main each) and it took a further three or four attempts to get it close to right.

25/09/2025: We've been regular customers for 2 years. The quality has significantly declined recently, as has the selection, but what's even more convincing us to change is that they never deliver pizzas on time. This evening, we ordered pizzas at 6:00 PM (presumably more than enough time to organize) for a home delivery to be delivered at 8:00 PM in Villafranca, as we had an engagement afterwards. We were asked if 8:15 PM was okay, and although we were a bit pressed for time, we accepted. Too bad the pizza arrived at 8:45 PM. Considering the fact that we ordered well in advance and that we live a 5-minute drive from the pizzeria, I find such a delay absurd, and it always happens.

07/04/2025: La Sfera is a typical local pizzeria and restaurant with a wide variety of local cuisine. As one would expect also with an extensive list of wine, especially the local ones. We had the “La sfera” appetizer (delicious!), home made gnocchi and beef main course. Personnel is very friendly. But for a local restaurant it’s a bit pricy.

23/03/2025: I booked for a group and I pointed out that I have celiac disease, only that when the waiter arrives to take the orders I am told that he has to go and check if there are still gluten-free doughs (I repeat, I had booked). The pizza with quality ham arrived well and left a little to be desired, however now it's time for dessert and I order a gluten-free chocolate salami. The waiter arrives with the dish and I ask him to confirm that it is suitable for my problem and I hear him reply: uhm I have to check the cream is gluten-free anyway. But I say is it possible? We're not there. Celiac disease is not a choice but for me it is a serious emergency room problem and luckily everything went well but never again to the ball.

14/09/2025: The pizzeria is located in a courtyard, making it very cozy. The food is very good, whether it's pizza 🍕, pasta 🍝, or dessert 🍨.

09/09/2025: The pasta (lasagna, tortellini, etc.) was more for a small appetite, given the quantity. The pizza is much larger, however. The ambiance clearly shows that they're trying to accommodate a large number of guests, but we didn't notice any negative effects from the service, etc. The food was very tasty, though. It's definitely worth a visit, and for the price, it's okay.

14/09/2025: Of all the establishments populating Verona Porta Nuova station, Bistrot Porta Nuova seems to have awakened to the present, while many of its neighbors remain trapped in a 1950s postcard, and not always in the romantic sense of the word... let's just say the cleanliness sometimes reminds one of a train station more than a bistro. Here, however, things are different: brightly lit signage, modern spaces, and a decor that winks at the distracted traveler. It's certainly not the place where you sit and read War and Peace while sipping afternoon tea. You're in a station, so you enter, bite, drink, and leave again. But in that brief pit stop, the bistro knows how to make itself noticed. The long counter prevents the crowd from turning into a brawl over cappuccino, and the display of pastries and sandwiches gazes at you with just the right amount of light that transforms a simple croissant into an irresistible temptation. The food is good quality; if you're feeling peckish while waiting for your train, you'll find a more than decent defense here. The staff is fast, but don't expect smiles worthy of a Mulino Bianco ad: the warmth stays in your suitcase, and here they serve coffee and sandwiches with surgical efficiency, just right for a place where you're passing through. The prices? In line with the market: no cheap shots, no miracles. In short: Bistrot Porta Nuova is a modern oasis in the Veronese railway jungle. It won't change your life, but it will save your day. Four stars, and an extra pistachio brioche to deserve five.

14/09/2025: Slow and inaccurate service, wrong orders due to rushing, long lines for coffee... there's a lack of coordination and organization!!!
