07/09/2025: I ordered a charcuterie board for €10.00, asking for spring onions.
When it came time to pay, I found the price was €15.00, the same as the full board with cheese and mushrooms. I pointed out that I had only ordered the charcuterie and that he had added a few spring onions to a bowl. He replied that since I had requested the addition, I should have paid €15.00 instead of €10.00. Absurd because he charged me €5.00 for the addition, just like the regular board, and there was no way to explain his mistake. I should point out that the food wasn't to our liking either. Not recommended.

05/10/2025: Perfect pizza. We ate Burrata and Bufalina. It doesn’t get better than that.
04/10/2025: The place is very traditional, and the service is wonderful from the blonde girl who served us with a big smile and kindness.
We ordered the traditional island dish and pasta Bolognese. If I could go back in time, I'd order the traditional pasta dish; everything was incredible, but I'd order the other one.
It's well worth trying, and it's not as expensive as I've seen elsewhere.
It's perfect, and you're full.
An Aperol, a juice, a Coca-Cola, and water.
About €60 for six people.

28/09/2025: We stayed two nights in September during the holidays. Everything was great: the rooms, location, staff, etc.
21/09/2025: Staying in the hotel's associated residence, we decided to spend the day by the beautiful pool and eat lunch in the restaurant.
The first courses were excellent, well-cooked, with generous portions and quick and courteous service.
The second courses were also good and very competitively priced.
We'll definitely be back.

16/09/2025: We only ate at the restaurant. The restaurant was full of people, but they made an effort and got us a table relatively quickly. The food was very tasty, except for the dessert, which was quite below average compared to the main meal and appetizer. At the end they served us a free digestif. The rating for service would probably be higher if the restaurant wasn't really crowded.
17/08/2025: Hotel San Francisco is a really nice place. We felt well-cared from the very beginning, and were given very good instructions on how to get to the hotel (we received a very helpful video). The communication with the staff was fantastic – we arrived in Cala Gonone really late but Mr. Maurizio was waiting for us and kept in touch with us, for which we were truly grateful. The room was very comfortable and very clean, the staff kept the rooms very clean. Breakfast outside was very pleasant, with a beautiful view, very close to the sea. Mr. Maurizio was truly helpful with every issue – from small tips about the location to attractions around Cala Gonone. The location is excellent; despite the lack of parking directly at the hotel, finding a parking space nearby was never a problem – we were also very grateful for the staff's tips.
We also highly recommend ice cream – the best in all Cala Gonone!
We hope to return to this beautiful place, and if we do, we will definitely choose the Hotel San Francisco, where we could truly relax.

11/09/2025: We stopped by chance and discovered a fabulous place to eat. The food was fresh, well-cooked, and served with a professionalism and kindness that, unfortunately, we didn't always find during our 13-day holiday in Sardinia. We ordered meat and fish, and both were delicious. The tagliata was made with prime, well-cooked meat, and the marinated mussels were incredibly fresh and plentiful! There was no hint of dirty water, as you might find in many more prestigious restaurants. Wherever you are, make a detour and come here. You won't regret it.

03/10/2025: We received a friendly welcome and were able to communicate in half Italian and half English. It looked very nice both inside and out. The food was delicious and the house wine was good. The staff was very friendly. We would definitely eat here again.

14/10/2025: Generally, the food is certainly very good. However, I had a pizza (egg and bacon) that wasn't seasoned enough. Non-alcoholic beer was only available on the menu, not in actual use. The restaurant was busy, but not as full as the restaurants on the beach. Otherwise, everything was fine. The prices were very fair.

22/08/2025: This place pleasantly surprised me; friends recommended it, so we decided to try it. Their appetizer selection is mind-blowing; we couldn't finish them because they were so plentiful. The first courses (trofeo with meatballs, porcini mushrooms, and saffron, and colirgiones with ragù) were fabulous, and also decidedly generous. We couldn't finish the second course because we wanted to save room for the desserts, which were also superb (mascarpone cream with salted caramel and whipped cream, and crème brûlée served with a flame). We had a truly wonderful time, and I highly recommend it because Sardinia isn't just about the sea; the inland areas also have their own, and you are proof of that. The person who looked after us throughout the meal was truly professional and knowledgeable. The value for money was EXCELLENT.
Thank you for this journey of flavors, we'll definitely be back.

05/09/2025: The owner and the girls in charge of preparation have been welcoming us, with their spontaneous and delightful kindness and courtesy, for over 10 years now. This pizzeria offers a variety of sizes of pizza, each with a wide variety of toppings to suit your taste, all of which are impeccable in quality.
The four of us, with our sweet tooth, regularly order the largest tray, which you can choose from with up to 15 different flavors. We find the zucchini, Sardinian sweet, and mint to be spectacular, but there's truly so much to choose from.
A special mention goes to the pasta, crispy and golden on the inside, with a fragrance and digestibility that we've truly only experienced here.
At the end, they give you a box to take away any leftovers, which are always delicious when reheated the next day.
Super-fair price: a large tray, a 66cl Ichnusa and a 33cl (note the pleasant finesse of the chilled mugs fresh from the freezer), and two small bottles of water, totaling €50.
Warning: this is a top-notch pizzeria serving pizza by the slice, so one of the great things about it is that the tray with the pre-sliced pizza is brought to the table and you eat with your hands, no cutlery or plates—just generous paper napkins. So stay away from those who don't like it if the service isn't provided by waiters in suits and white gloves with top-notch tableware, etc., etc. Here, the focus is rightly on substance, which has never let us down even once over the years—quite the opposite.
Better to book: around here, everyone knows this place is great without even reading the reviews...
