03/01/2026: Delicious and very inexpensive. Sweetest wait staff, amazing fries, table wine is so ridiculously cheap. Ate here 2 nights in a row because I enjoyed it so much. Also they offer multiple meat options which is almost impossible to find here. Love this place!

12/10/2025: Definitely the most wholesome, delicious pizza around! The pizza dough is supposed to rest for 72 hours. This way, nothing sits heavily on the stomach, in my experience.

22/02/2026: The Universo restaurant is truly a universe of flavors and Salento hospitality. I stopped for Sunday lunch and everything was delicious: fresh and tasty dishes, good house wine, and the orange and almond cake that finished it all was excellent. The staff were truly kind and helpful, never intrusive.

08/02/2026: A Sunday Lunch Between Seafood Flavors and Family Warmth There's nothing better than gathering the family around a table filled with the aroma of salt and tradition. Our lunch at Ristorante Universo was a true journey of flavor, an experience that celebrated the quality of the ingredients with a touch of creativity. The variety of dishes made sharing a constant pleasure: We started with a lively mix: from crispy mixed fried fish to classic mixed fried fish (always a surefire hit for adults and children), through to a refreshing octopus and shrimp salad and exquisite au gratin mussels, perfectly golden. The First Courses (The Heart of the Lunch): The real star was the seafood risotto. Perfectly creamed, with a vibrant touch of saffron and more. Equally worthy were the spaghetti all'Adriatica and paccheri agli abissi, rich dishes where the pasta captured every nuance of the sea. Even the French fries, served rustically, lived up to the standards of a carefully crafted lunch. We ended on a high note with a jar of tiramisu, creamy and authentic in flavor, the perfect way to cap off a special Sunday. Ristorante Universo confirms itself as an excellent choice for those seeking the legacy of tradition (the good kind, passed down from generation to generation) combined with attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere. A place where "eating well" means feeling at home, but with the privilege of having the best of the catch on your plate. Highly recommended for those who want to turn an ordinary Sunday into a wonderful memory.

19/03/2026: Excellent bar, premium coffee. Ask for the owner, Sciacchitano, a true coffee artist. All the coffee is made on-site, even the morning croissants are made fresh, not frozen. Everything is delicious.

08/02/2026: I have to report two unfortunate incidents: I know the restaurant thanks to The Fork, and after eating there a couple of times, I decided to return and book through the The Fork app. First incident: I booked through The Fork on New Year's Eve with the regular à la carte menu and a 20% discount, with confirmation of the reservation via email. I was contacted a day before and told that the reservation could be confirmed, but the discount would not be applied, and the à la carte menu was transformed into a fixed menu at an unreasonable price. Obviously, my refusal resulted in the cancellation of the reservation, ruining New Year's Eve (but that's understandable). Second incident: Last night, I booked through The Fork for two with a 20% discount, and 1 hour before the booked time, I was contacted and told that they had an issue with the portal and that my reservation could not be confirmed (even though I have the restaurant's confirmation email)! Nor do I speak to friends who use The Fork, and they too have received last-minute cancellations due to technical problems on other days. Repeat offender!!! The doubt remains... and the disappointment is profound!!!

11/11/2025: A fantastic experience for San Martino! 💫 I went to this restaurant to celebrate San Martino, and I must say it was a truly special experience! The food is all typically Salento, prepared with genuine ingredients and with that authentic flavor that makes you feel at home. From appetizers to desserts, every dish was carefully prepared, rich and plentiful, a true celebration of flavors and tradition. The local wines were also excellent, perfect to accompany the dishes. A special thanks to Antonio, the owner, always welcoming, kind, and attentive, and to Timo, the chef, whose skill brings the soul of Salento cuisine to the table. A warm and convivial place, ideal for an evening with friends or family. Highly recommended for those who want an authentic experience and enjoy true Salento cuisine, characterized by abundance, quality, and conviviality! 🍷🍇✨

05/11/2025: Last week, I went to dinner with some friends. It's hard for me to return to this place. The welcome was very pleasant and different from usual. The new autumn pizza was the best (cream of pumpkin, scamorza, and pancetta, delicate and crispy dough with red cabbage) along with the cabbage salad as an entree, really not bad. Once we were seated and chose our beverage (the wine selection is very respectable, even though I rarely toast anymore), the classic pittule to break the wait for the main courses: ravioli del plin with stew, fish in a salt crust, pecorino cheese with tomato sauce, seasonal vegetables cooked in every way. Dessert and coffee to finish. Everything was sooooo good. The bill was very fair. The staff was friendly. Thank you, and see you next time. PS: I'm not attaching photos of the dishes because my hands and cutlery were busy with the courses and, if necessary, sharing the dishes. 😋😋😋

13/08/2025: Excellent experience! The staff were incredibly kind and friendly, especially the owner, Mr. Raffaele. The dishes were delicious, carefully prepared, and plentiful: the secret, he told us, was his mother's cooking. There are very few restaurants like this in Salento. Highly recommended!

03/08/2025: We stopped by chance, but it was a pleasant dinner... we waited a bit, but it was due to the lack of staff, which the owner immediately clarified, but it was pleasantly rewarded by the good pizza and the courtesy of the staff. We will definitely be back!

29/06/2025: Pizzeria Da Luigi - Where "Not the Best" Still Means Amazing (Because... Italy) In Tricase, saying a pizza place isn’t the best is like saying your Ferrari isn’t the fastest, it’s still a Ferrari. Pizzeria Da Luigi serves up a solid, delicious, can’t-go-wrong kind of pizza. Maybe it's not the single best slice in town, but honestly? That’s like ranking Michelangelo’s sculptures, some preferences are just personal. The crust is crispy, the ingredients are fresh, and the vibe is proper local. You leave satisfied, full, and wondering if you’re just a little too spoiled by Italy. If this exact pizza landed anywhere else in the world, they’d crown Luigi emperor and name a national holiday after him. But in Tricase? It’s just Tuesday.

19/11/2025: There were 6 of us and we ordered 6 different pizzas, one of which was gluten-free, and we were all happy. The pizza was very good, and the fried food was average.

17/02/2026: -Food Sublime rotisserie. Fresh dough. One of the best calzones I've ever had here in Salento. -Service The guy was incredibly quick, both in explaining the products for sale and in packaging and giving change. The perfect time, I recommend around 6-7 pm. I've tried other rotisserie in the area, but there's no competition... Just for the freshness and leavening of the product. Now we always drive 20 minutes to come here with the family.
