22/11/2025: In the heart of Naples, Pizzeria Pellone smells of pizza in every corner. Founded in 1960, this classic establishment has nourished generations with the same simple yet powerful recipe, without artifice or pretension, and therein lies its charm. Here, the glitz of trendy spots isn't the goal: the true spirit of the "wagon wheel" pizza is preserved, made with premium ingredients that reflect the bounty of the Vesuvius hills. Vibrant tomatoes, perfectly melted mozzarella, and fresh basil take center stage. As is typical in Naples, the restaurant operates on a first-come, first-served basis and is always packed. With skillful touches of fire, the pizzaiolos shape high-hydration doughs using the classic Neapolitan technique, the slap, stretching the dough to its limits. The result: pizzas overflowing the plate. We tried a prosciutto e funghi and a diavola. This last one could have come straight from Dante's seventh circle of Hell: intensely spicy, fiery, and delicious. The atmosphere is quintessentially Neapolitan: bustling, warm, with fast and attentive waiters who understand that pizza here isn't just food, but culture. Its location, just steps from Central Station, makes it an ideal stop before or after exploring the city or returning from an excursion. There are queues, yes, but also a consensus: the wait is always worth it. Pellone is pure Neapolitan essence: pizza made with skill, tradition, and no frills. If you're looking for the authentic Neapolitan experience in its most genuine form, this is the place for you.

30/11/2025: I visited this pizzeria with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing in many ways. I'll start with the only truly positive note: the fried appetizers, delicious and well-executed, definitely the highlight of the evening. The pizzas, however, were a disaster. I ordered a Carbonara, presented as a pizza with pasteurized egg cream: from the description and photos, it looked creamy and unique, but I found myself with an overcooked fried egg spread all over the surface, with a nauseating flavor. A truly awful pizza. The other pizza, with spiced baked potatoes, was no better: the potatoes were just baked potatoes, not at all crispy, completely bland, and without any seasoning. From a place that charges high prices, especially in the Mergellina area, you would at least expect quality ingredients and well-prepared dishes. To make matters worse, the service was also subpar. We went at a quiet time; the place was practically empty, which should have allowed for greater attention. Instead, the fried food arrived in mere seconds: it wasn't cold, but it wasn't hot either, a clear sign that it had been prepared in advance, which was inexcusable on such a quiet evening. The pizzas, on the other hand, arrived after a long wait, even though we were the only ones supposed to be served. And the result didn't justify the wait at all: one had a completely charred crust bubble, the other had an overcooked egg instead of the promised cream. Details that might be acceptable in a busy restaurant, but certainly not when the staff has all the time in the world to work diligently. I should also add that the prices on The Fork aren't up to date: only when we arrived did we discover they were higher. Another demonstration of careless management. It's a shame, because the concept of the place isn't bad, and some elements, like the fried food and the provola cheese I tasted on the pizza, suggest there could be potential. But the lack of care, both in the kitchen and in the organization, completely ruins the experience. In conclusion, I wouldn't come back here for pizza. However, the place has a piano bar, offers cocktails and beers, and considering the fried foods are good, I might come back just for a drink and a small appetizer, perhaps accompanied by a very simple pizza with provola cheese, which was the only truly enjoyable thing. I sincerely hope the owners read this review and decide to improve, because so far the experience has been forgettable.

06/11/2025: The food is good and the views are great (if you're lucky). It's expensive, on par with Capri in general. I tried gnocchi alla caprese, since I was in Capri. Very tasty, but the portion was small. The waiter was very friendly and spoke Spanish. I gave him an €8 tip and then regretted it because I'm broke.

29/10/2025: Excellent pizzaria restaurant and their service is top class. Located a bit hidden in the street,... do yourself a favor and visit them. Clear winner in Capri.

10/10/2025: Pizza is good, Service ok, the beer they serve us was bad, they said is the taste of peroni im a beer judge bjcp E4149, so I know what im taking about, mine was almost empty, my wife almost full they said free i said no worries, they insist free. When the tap came they charge us both beers. Dont know why they said free. Offer us free lemonchelo.

25/11/2025: 🍕 Excellent Pizza and Good Value! ​I ordered takeout on a Saturday night and the experience was very positive overall. ​👍 Strengths ​Pizza Quality: The pizza is really good. I had two Bufalina (both excellent, the buffalo mozzarella was tasty) plus a Wurstel e Frites and a Margherita. The whole family enjoyed them. ​Value for Money: The prices are fair and in line with the high quality of the product offered. ​⏱️ Note on the Wait ​Wait: Being a Saturday, there was the usual wait, which is absolutely understandable and typical of all pizzerias that do a good job and use fresh ingredients. It's a wait worth putting up with for a good pizza. 📝 Only Note ​Service/Communication: The only small point concerns the handling of some questions (which may be obvious to them, but not to the customer). I suggest handling this aspect with a little more care and courtesy to make the experience 5-star in every way. ​Conclusion: I recommend this pizzeria for its excellent food.

29/10/2025: This small shop on a quiet street completely surprised us with its taste. What it might lack in ambiance, it definitely makes up for in taste and price. The service was good and left nothing to be desired. Overall, a surprisingly positive experience; if you're looking for something negative, you could complain about the noise level, but in our opinion, that would be nitpicking.

They recommended the catch of the day, and it was an unforgettable taste surprise. The calamari was the best I've ever had. The pizza was excellent. I'm also writing this review to remind myself where to go again. PS. Try the zuppa inglese... simply fantastic.

07/12/2025: Pizzeria Sunrise offers a truly enjoyable dining experience: the pizzas are tasty, well-topped, and cooked to perfection. The gluten-free option, often hard to find at this level, is also excellent; the dough is light and flavorful, just as good as the traditional version. The only real drawback to the experience is the service. The staff, while present and attentive, tends to be overly hasty, giving the impression of trying to clear tables too quickly. On one occasion, your plate was even taken away while you were still eating, somewhat ruining the atmosphere and enjoyment of the moment. Overall, Sunrise remains a good pizzeria for the quality of its cuisine, but a more relaxed and respectful approach from the staff would be welcome. A small adjustment that would really make a difference.

17/11/2025: The food was good. The white wine was perfect, fruity. The restrooms were clean. BUT: * What a racket! My ears could hardly stand it. * What a wait! It was Sunday, and it seemed the kitchen staff couldn't keep up. An hour for a simple pasta dish. That's way too long. What a shame.

12/11/2025: Great dinner at Convento in Cetara. Very quiet on a tuesday night in november. Great if anchovies are your thing. Had a Genovese di Tonno for the first time but i think i prefer the classic meat version.
