09/07/2026: A great discovery! A welcoming restaurant, with a pleasant atmosphere and very attentive service. The menu offers a great selection, but if you want to be sure, I absolutely recommend trying the crispy and light fried stockfish and the stockfish gnocchi, truly flavorful and perfectly creamed. I'll definitely be back! Highly recommended.

We wanted to celebrate our wedding in a farmhouse, with traditional cuisine, in a rustic yet well-kept location, surrounded by nature and with beautiful outdoor spaces: the classic "Italian-style" wedding we'd always dreamed of. Here we found all this and much more. Writing a simple review seems almost reductive to describe the experience we had. From our first meeting, we felt welcomed and listened to: Arianna guided us with professionalism, availability, and rare kindness through every single decision, helping us organize every detail with serenity and attention. The location is simply wonderful: authentic, capable of showcasing the Calabrian tradition and atmosphere to the fullest. Every corner is cared for down to the smallest detail and helped make our day even more special. The cuisine won over all our guests: traditional dishes prepared with quality ingredients, abundant, authentic, and presented with great care. The staff was impeccable, always present but never intrusive, attentive to every need and capable of making both us and our guests feel pampered. A heartfelt thank you to everyone, especially the owners, for making our dream a reality and for giving us a day we will cherish forever. If you're looking for a venue that combines beauty, professionalism, excellent cuisine, and authentic Calabrian hospitality, we can't recommend it highly enough. 09/06/2026: We celebrated our wedding vows at the beautiful Masseria Adornato, and we couldn't have made a better choice! The venue is meticulously designed, with an atmosphere that enchanted all our guests. ​A special thank you goes to Arianna and Giò, who, with their great professionalism and invaluable advice on the menu and decor, made the evening a success. Excellent food, impeccable service, and a beautiful evening we will always remember.

12/04/2026: Interesting place, rustic yet modern. We had a seafood and rustic appetizer, and it was an appetizer that doubled as dinner, and what a dinner it was!!! A taste of everything that's delicious in Calabria. An excellent tasting experience. Barone Rosso is a place I recommend if you're in Gioiosa Ionica 😃

30/05/2026: A historic building in the heart of the city center now a restaurant and pizzeria. We had an excellent saffron fusillone, creamed to perfection. A fillet carpaccio that melted in the mouth and paired perfectly with the sweetness of the Tropea onion. A tartare and a tagliata steak, both delicate and tender. Special mention for putting the egg on the side of the tartare so I could enjoy it plain. For dessert, a strawberry ice cream, to which the waiter kindly added berries. Impeccable and attentive service!

03/05/2026: A huge restaurant right in the city center, an entire two-story building, offering a variety of dining options. It has many elegant dining rooms, and the tables are large enough to accommodate very large groups. Precisely because it's a well-presented restaurant, we had high expectations. Honestly, as a pizzeria, it was a bit disappointing. The appetizer was meager, and the few small plates served a few at a time weren't enough for everyone, considering there were about fifteen of us. We had asked for mixed fried foods in central baking dishes, but we were served only a few small plates, and there were only fries with sausage and bacon. The portions were meager. So much so that we later mentioned it, and they kindly brought us more small plates of potatoes. The pizza arrived cold for some of us, some had already finished it, and some were still waiting for it. Personally, I didn't like it; it was a bit tough, and the white base was very sparse with toppings. The knives didn't cut well. Those who ordered the sandwiches, however, were happy; they were good. The waiters were friendly. Street parking was very difficult.

13/06/2026: The first and last time I'll come to this place. We booked a table for three. We arrived at this pizzeria around 9:45 PM. We ordered pizzas, and they arrived around 11:30 PM. It was a disgrace, and there weren't even many people there. We tried the pizzas, which were truly inedible. They were so salty they made our stomachs turn, as indigestible as they were, with poor-quality ingredients, and the service was nonexistent. It felt like we were talking to a brick wall. I hope they close down soon, never again. 👎

16/06/2026: My experience was extremely negative. The customer is never right here because the manager doesn't listen to his customers' needs. On the contrary, he accuses them of mistakes that hide a serious disorganization within the Siderno McDonalds environment. 3 out of 3 wrong sandwiches and 2 replaced, a chicken sandwich with a pink cutlet... all seasoned with a lack of respect for the consumer's health, since the incident was downplayed and treated as a customer whim... shame, shame because throughout Italy McDonalds works great but here unfortunately it is to be failed... some time ago problems with the air conditioning, a hair in the sandwich, lack of products bought at the drive thru... but yesterday we hit rock bottom... in front of other customers we felt accused of errors that were clearly not attributable to us since, equipped with receipts, we had to fight to obtain 2 out of 3 replacements... compliments to the manager, who instead of understanding the situation and addressing the problem with determination and courtesy towards the customer, thought to place the blame on us. Basically, sandwiches are, fighting for a sandwich makes no sense... it means that the poor way in which we were treated will be brought to the attention of the appropriate authorities.

18/09/2025: 😋😋 Wow! 😋😋🍕🍕 After a long, hot days sail we saw the Pizzeria Barrel wasn't too far from where we were anchored 🤔 We decided to get a pizza to eat on the boat ⛵. So glad we did for €14 we got a pizza that even the two of us found filling and Frittata as a side. The pizza was just what we needed, hot, a large size and delicious 😋😋 The toppings were fresh and just right and the base was amazing ♥️, the potato Frittata were hot and chunky, we couldn't finish them all to be honest.
