08/02/2025: Excellent food, we were surprised by the combination of certain elements with the fish. We took as an appetizer: 1 tuna tartare, really good, very good ingredients, and 2 mixed seafood appetizers, also really very good ones. As a first course we had 1 house dish off the menu, a spaghetti with muscles, clams and other ingredients chopped together, really excellent and 2 seafood linguine which were also excellent. These are also excellent desserts. Too bad that since the place was empty to save money (understandable) the air conditioners were off, they turned them on when we arrived. For this reason I gave the environment 4 stars. For the rest, excellent service and cuisine, just the right amount of money to eat good fish is around €40 per person.

01/02/2025: Fantastic experience!!!!! The La Sciabola restaurant was a fantastic and truly surprising experience!!! Warm and welcoming place, with the hosts Alessandra and Emilio, nice, polite and always ready for every customer need. My wife and I ate a mixed starter (amazing), a cacio e pepe with tuna tartare (one of the strong dishes of the house) and a tuna tataki (few people make it so good), all seasoned with an excellent Vermentino local. Excellent quality/price ratio. I highly recommend!!!!!

18/01/2025: We ate very well, the fish ravioli and the homemade tart were special but in general everything was very good. Served by a kind and friendly waitress. A spacious car park well accessible to elderly people. But also an excellent place for young people

17/01/2025: Siamo stati a mangiare in questo ristorante consigliato da amici, ordiniamo 3 ravioli, e una tagliata per 3 persone…. Arrivano i ravioli e nel piatto c’è erano veramente 3 e il ragù era acqua con del pomodoro, la tagliata erano 4 striscette di carne, il resto era tutto osso….poi 3 torte di riso, una bottiglia di Coca-Cola da 1 Lt, 1/4 di vino bianco della casa, totale 172€ e siamo usciti con la fame…..mai più metterò piede in questo ristorante…..

29/12/2024: Excellent place to have dinner, there were two of us, we took two pizzas, two sweet coffees and two bitters, all excellent friendly service, we waited a bit for the pizzas but because the place was full, but while we were waiting they brought us a portion of fries are also excellent. 16/01/2025: Nice restaurant where you eat well, quality and well prepared food. Excellent service. The two of us had two appetizers, one of which was raw fish, and tagliolini with white truffle, with two desserts to finish. To drink, a glass of house white wine and half a liter of house red wine. Super raw fish and also very abundant and this is not always the case. Fantastic white truffle tagliolini. The chef and owner is very helpful and kind. He gave us a little lesson on truffles and also showed us the different types he had. Very good desserts with a mention for the amaretto semifreddo. We spent 137 euros. Super recommended.

03/01/2025: From the name I would think more of a trattoria. Instead it is a good restaurant in the center of Carrara, with a decidedly modern feel. Food from land and sea, menu not extensive but rightly so, given the quality and care of the dishes. Prices average 35 to 55 euros each. Why the 4-star environment: it is well-kept, clean, tidy, there's no denying it. But nothing special. Impeccable service. Places both indoors and outdoors.

When we finally managed to find it open, disappointment came. Intrusive owner who seems to want us to know that he knows everything, dry, dry and tasteless pizza. As for the recommended wine... I came looking for work as a waiter, sent to talk to the owner by a relative of his, promising me a job trial, and that they would make themselves heard, the owners often complained about the guys who don't want to work on Saturdays and Sundays, I arrive through a relative of his, recommended by him, and I am totally ignored as if with a snap of the fingers they could find good waiters. Terrible human side on the part of the owners, I don't recommend it, the first thing in a dining room team is friendliness, I don't know how to eat, but it all starts from the service, and I received a poor welcome both in conversation and in the following days by telephone. He's not the Ciccio everyone talks about. Review: 1 star too much.

03/02/2025: Il locale si presenta molto curato, e il cibo, con piatti ricercati ma anche alternative più classiche, non ha deluso le aspettative: era tutto davvero ottimo. Porzioni giuste e prezzo in linea con la cena e il locale. Il servizio è stato davvero attento e accogliente. Torneremo sicuramente!

22/12/2024: Scoperto per caso, eravamo in cerca di un bel ristorantino di pesce, e possiamo dire di averlo trovato. Il posto è molto carino, e loro ti accolgono con gentilezza in una bella sala molto rilassante. Abbiamo preso come antipasto porchetta di mare e tartare di salmone, tutti e due i piatti con abbinamenti veramente spettacolari che esaltavano la materia prima. Come primo abbiamo diviso un risotto agli agrumi con tartare di scampi, e il giorno dopo siamo a capire come poterlo rifare perché ne avremmo voluto il doppio, prossima volta non lo smezzeremo ahah. Come secondi abbiamo preso un polpo croccante su vellutata di patate con caprino e la sua riduzione, e il baccalà in confit su vellutata di ceci e salsa alla mugnaia, anche qui abbinamenti pazzeschi e tutto squisito. Prezzo più che giusto per la qualità espressa nei piatti. Straconsigliato, veniteci perché non ve ne pentirete. Per noi è stata la prima volta ma non sarà sicuramente l’ultima.

I had lunch at this sushi place last Saturday and initially I was struck by the attention to the issue of gluten-free: the staff seemed very competent (the soy sauce throughout the place is gluten-free and, unlike other places, you could sense a good knowledge of the topic). Furthermore, allergens and gluten-containing foods were clearly indicated on the menu, which is certainly a great sign. Even on the phone, when I booked reporting my celiac disease, I was told that there was no problem. Unfortunately, however, a few hours after the meal I had the classic reaction I have to gluten and I was sick for several hours, which means that something went wrong. I repeat, I'm sorry because I appreciated the effort of the place, but obviously there was a mistake. Perhaps an ingredient was not checked adequately (for this reason I leave the photo of my order in case you want to double check, to which I add - since they are not written there - salmon plus and a dish called Rainbow). Or there was contamination in the kitchen. I don't know if the place has separate work spaces, but it might be useful to check it to ensure greater safety for celiac customers. I write this review with the intention of reporting my experience and suggesting further verification of the ingredients and procedures. I felt like a lot of thought went into it, so it would be a shame if any details were missed. Perhaps it could also be useful to evaluate whether the restaurant can actually be guaranteed to be safe for celiacs, or whether it is preferable to specify that, while offering gluten-free options, it is not possible to guarantee the total absence of contamination (as some non-AIC certified restaurants do). ). ___ For the rest, nothing to say: the place is new, very clean and the staff are really friendly. I chose to try it because it is the only sushi in the area with a vegan menu, and in fact the choice was wide and interesting.

26/01/2025: Siamo andati perché erano presenti belle recensioni, ma appena entrati c era un cattivo odore coperto dal profumo di gelsomino, menu povero per essere un ristorante di sushi e la pulizia scarsa pavimenti appiccicosi e bottiglietta della soia che non si sapeva da dove veniva, tutta sporca . Abbiamo detto alla cameriera che eravamo abituati a più scelta e che non saremo restati, all uscita la proprietaria, che non sapevamo fosse lei,ci ha fermati maleducatamente dicendoci che noi avremo dovuto indicare che non era di nostro gradimento, facendo una figuraccia con gli ospiti seduti. Alzando la voce mah secondo me prima dovrebbe fare un corso hccp per la pulizia di un locale

27/01/2025: After four adults have sat down at a table that would have been for two people, the girl kindly takes charge of us. Only one course arrives at the table. When the diner was finishing it, the other three courses arrive. 2 Lobster Bavette: you could only tell because there were pieces of emptied claws on the plate... and to think that ironically they had also brought us pliers to open them. 🤣 The beauty comes with baked sea bass with vegetables! It is presented on the plate reduced to an aggregate of small pieces. We kindly ask to have at least some fillets that bring back memories of a fish. The annoyed owner replies angrily that she would have brought it back but that we would have had to clean it ourselves because that's how they serve it! Throwing looks of disdain every time she passed near the table, she went so far as to warn us that in the end she would fillet it in front of us, as if to do us a favor. I won't comment on the ricotta oil side dish. The owner is inadequate, the place is mediocre, the food and service are poor. One less place to frequent during our stays in Pontremoli!
